Summary: the girl on the outside
Review: The book, "The Girl on the Outside" is about two girls in the year 1957 when desegregation is just started. One of the girls was white and her name was Sophia. She was confused about all of what was happening, the nine "negroes" coming to her school on senior year. The other girl was black and her name was Eva. She was one of the nine blacks going to Chatman, an all white school. She is also confused. She is confused about if she should go to her new school or not. These characters are very realistic because they think about the exact same things that someone would probably think or say during that time period.
In the beginning of the story neither of them knows each other. When they get the news that nine blacks are going to Chatman one is frightened and angry yet the other is delighted and also scared. In the end, someway, somehow the end up helping each other. You'll just have to read the book to find out.
I really liked this book because it showed how blacks and whites thought. It showed you what it was like to be either race during that time. It was also very realistic because what happens seems just like how it would happen in real life. It showed how each family thought of the situation and other people's points of view. The book The Girl on the Outside is very well written and enjoyable.

Summary: The girl who tried to make differents for her sister
Review: The reason I say that is that the only reason Eva felt happy about going to. Chatman High School is because one day her sister just mate get to go to. The same school with out any problems or any people talking about her and bening mean. Eva knew what was important an it was to make a furture for some one elas but instead she was making history for her and chatman school. There was also a girl in the story who didn't won't Eva to have the chance to do that but. Just because of what that girl felt Eva steal try even if she was scaried. Because she made it clear to her sister that she love her and one day want her to go to chatman just the same way she did. With out hving to get hart or get made fun of or people doing mean things to her. This is why I think the title should be waht I put it as so sI hope you can find this helpful .

Summary: The Others Besides Us
Review: This book was Okay but it didn't fit my reading needs. I liked the fact that it was set in the era it was but I didn't like the characters much. Overall this book "is not very good". The author underdetailed most important things in my opinion. The white girl Sophia can't make up her mind about how she feels about intergration and black people.

Summary: An Awesome Review
Review: This is an amazing book about what happened with the Little Rock nine. I read this book when I was in the sixth grade and still love it. I think the best part of the book is when Eve was walking through the crowd, getting spit at and called names, she was walking to the bus stop to get a bus to go home. Sophia came and helped her through it all. That is the best part ever in the book.
