Rating: Summary: A Friendship Inside Review: A Friendship Inside This book is about two girls who both live in Mossville in 1957. One girl's name is Sophia who is mad because she found out that nine Negro students would be attending her high school the next year. Eva is one of the nine Negro students who was selected to go to that high school and is very excited and happy. The evening before the first day of school the National Guard showed up and were supposed to protect the nine. The judge announced that the nine were not to go to school the next day and he would say tomorrow if he would allow them to go there the rest of the year. Everyone was anxious to see what the judge decides and it turns out that he does allow them to go. The next day, Eva and Sophia find their friendship for each other. I enjoyed the book because the author allows you to feel like you actually know the two characters personally. I liked it because the two girls had similarities with me and I seemed to understand some of what they were going through.
Rating: Summary: The girl that was left behind Review: I enjoyed this book. Mildred Pitts Walter really described the setting well. Everywhere the characters went, she wrote at least a paragraph describing the setting. It was about nine black students who were going to try to go to school at an all white school after the desegregation law was passed. The governor was unsure of the desegregation law and on the first day of school, he had a group of military people guard the entrance of the school. They would not let any of the colored students in. You have to read the book to see what happens!!!
Rating: Summary: 5 Stars Review: I gave this book five stars because it gave a pretty good description of what I learned in history. And the way you did from a white girl and a white boys point of view. Also the way you did a white boys point of view too. This is actullaly one of the only descrimination books that I actually enjoyed. That is my book review, and how I rate this book.

Rating: Summary: THE GIRL WHO CAME AROUND Review: I gave this book five stars because it was wonderful. I didn't really like it in the begining because it was going back and forth. But at the end it got alot better. I think it was good that Sophia helped Eva get home. I didn't know that Eva was not going to get in. This is similar to what happened in Arkansas at Central High.
Rating: Summary: It's a great book for almost all ages. Review: I really liked this book because it taught me more things than i already know about that time. I also like it because it showed both points of view from each of the girls. I like how the author put great detail into the story.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: I recently did a presentation for english on this book and I loved it! I think that it is amaizingly informational about the time period when intergration was starting to take effect. Summary: Two teenage girls different colors going to the same school and trying to fight hatred.
Rating: Summary: An instresting book with a glimse at life in the 1950's Review: I thought that this book was great. After reading it for school I felt a new appreciation for blacks in the 1950's. I realized what a struggle they went through to be treated like equaels. I was amazed be their determination. Read this book. It is wonderful!
Rating: Summary: The Girl on the Outside Review: If the ratings were one- ten I would give this book a ten. this book was great. This book showed how racism took place in the 1950s. This is one of the best books I've read. I couldn't put it down!
Rating: Summary: what a book Review: The book is not really exciting but it was all right. Sophia had a really bad attitude. Just because her maid was black don't mean she needs to treet her so badly. When Sophia's friends called her a ni**er lover it made me fell bad because I have black friends. I would have hit her in the head and said, "just because I'm helping somebody out don't mean I love them." Over all it was a pretty good book.
