Summary: Only for school-use.
Review: A few months ago we started to read this novel in our English-class. When I read the title first I have expected that it will be boring. But I've changed my opinion after reading. Well, it's not a thriller and a tension doesn't really exist but it's easy to understand and okay for German pupils. The only reason to finish the book is to know the relationship between the two main characters after the birth of their child. Some situations are quite interesting but unfortunately all action takes place in the thoughts of the persons. The book is not very amusing because unwanted pregnancy is a serious theme.

Summary: Dear Nobody
Review: "Dear Nobody," Helen's letters start. You may ask, "who is Nobody?" or "Why is this Helen girl writing to someone who doesn't exist?" The answer is that Nobody is 18 year old Helen Garton's baby, growing inside her. Nobody is Chris' baby too, and so when Helen breaks their relationship saying, "I just need some time to figure everything out" he is furious. This just adds to Chris' list of problems of passing his exams, finding and talking to his ex-mother, and making his desions about college. Helen also has many probems to deal with, like college, exams, abortion, and regaining her mother's friendship and love. Find out how Helen & Chris figure their complicated lives out by reading "Dear Nobody", a **** out of ***** star book.

Summary: Dear Nobody - Berlie Doherty...
Review: A true insperation. I was recomended this book by my school librarian when I was 13, at 16 years old its still the best I've ever read. I'm currently writing a paper on it for my Media GNVQ coursework, I loved it so much its turned a chore to a pleasure. I've convinced several friends to give it a go, and they all loved it as much as me. Other Berlie Doherty books have come close, but never had such a huge effect on me. For days after first reading it I couldn't stop wondering what happened next. Its one of the only books ever to make me cry, pure genius :)

Summary: story from real life
Review: book review

the novel "dear Nobody" by Berlie Doherty deals with an unwanted pregnancy of a young woman.
Helen and her boyfriend Chris have sex for the first time, but one month later Helen has an unsure feeling in her. After having done a pregnancy test and having gone to visit a doctor it becomes reality: Helen is pregnant![...]this novel can give young people who are in a similar situation feedback and hope to handle with and it helps them to take the right decisions. It deals with realistic problems of teenies and because of that it is very interesting to read and at some parts surprising. I would recommend it to every young woman and man who like reading stories from real life.

Summary: Dear Nobody,a good novel for teenagers
Review: Book Review of the novel „Dear Nobody" by Berlie Doherty

The novel "Dear Nobody" by Berlie Doherty deals with the topic of an unwanted pregnancy of an eighteen-year-old girl called Helen. [...]the novel "Dear Nobody" by Berlie Doherty a very good and sentimental book because Helen and Chris show their feelings, thoughts and fears very strongly. I like this book very much because it is about a taboo topic and because it is very realistic. You can really imagine how Chris and Helen feel because they are my age. I think that it is a novel that you can really read well in class because it is about a topic that everybody knows and which is interesting for young people who can perhaps identify with the main-character. When you read such a book, you really think about how the situation would be if you were pregnant. And so you think about how you would act. You also are informed how difficult such a situation can be. All in all I liked very much to read this novel and I recommend reading it to many other people.

Summary: interesting novel for teenagers
Review: Book review on the novel ''Dear Nobody`` by Berlie Doherty

The novel ``Dear Nobody`` deals with a difficult theme: the pregnancy of teenage girls.
In the novel there`s Helen and her boyfriend Chris, who had sex and a month later Helen
recognizes that she`s pregnant. At that time she starts to write the Dear Nobody letters.
[...]
I would recommend the novel, because it shows very well the problems girls and women have
with an unwanted pregnancy. And the novel shows the helplessness of the girls and the of the members
of the family and necessity of a friend.

Summary: Good novel where you can learn something
Review: Book review „Dear Nobody" written by Berlie Doherty
The novel "Dear Nobody" is about an unwanted pregnancy of a young couple. [...]I think the novel tells in an tactful way, how a life can change, though you don't want it. It helps you to arrange your problems and reminds you of enjoying your youth and not to destroy all this without thinking of the future. I think it's a good book, especially for girls. But also for boys, because they can learn how girls sometimes feel. Good novel where you learn something.

Summary: Entertaining book about problems of today's youth!!
Review: Book Review: Berlie Doherty „Dear Nobody"

The book deals with the (sometimes tragic) story of two 18-year old teenagers: Helen, who gets pregnant, and her boyfriend Chris, also the father of her unborn child. The unwanted pregnancy brings about all the troubles that both now have to face, for unfortunately they want to study at two different universities. So now their plans for the future seem to be made in vain. Additionally both teenagers have problems with their parents: [...]The book is written in a style typically for today's youth, and if you're a teenager yourself, you can easily identify with the problems described in the book, either because some of the situations mirror your own life and it may help you to get on with it, or just because you want good entertainment. I would recommend it especially to young people, because the book really deals with the current problems of today's youth.

Summary: Best English Novel so Far
Review: For me, it isn't the best book I've ever read in my life. It's a special book, and the interesting thing is, that this could us happen too. It's hard (or beautiful) for both, not only for Helen. It's always a tricky theme when a young woman gets pregnant without wanting it. But I think it's better when you get the child than choosing an abortion! Berlie Doherty chose an interesting and tricky subject for writing a book and she did that very well. But I don't like books with styles like this very well, I like books with more action. I think this book is written for young people, or it's better when young people do read that book.
