Summary: A series for fans of Making Out
Review: Kate and her best friend Chelsea move to Ocean City, Maryland for their last summer before college. Kate vacations there every year and last year fell in love with a lifeguard who inevitably broke her heart. Kate and Chels arrive and have numerous problems finding a house so late in the season. They eventually find one but the house comes with unexpected house mate, Justin, Kate's lifeguard flame. Kate and Chelsea find other roomates to cover the rent including Grace, a sultry and mysterious waitress, Conner, a hilarious Irish guy, and Alec, a lifeguard friend of Justin. Kate finds out that Grace was the girl who Justin had an affair with and the reason for their breakup. She wants to move out of the house for this reason. But ends up staying in the end.

Fans of Katherine's other series Making Out will love this reprint of the old Ocean City series. There will be inevitable character comparisons between the two. Kate-Zoey, Chelsea-mix of Nina and Aisha, Justin-Jake, Grace-Claire. But the characters are different and stand on their own. This is not a rehash of Making Out. It is simply a cool, new (to some) refreshing series from Applegate. Let's hope she stops writing that ridiculous Everworld and Remnants and returns to Teen Romance where she really belongs.

There are many plot elements I didn't mention. I would be here all night to tell every neat thing about this book. But it is hilarious at every turn. Especially Connor. And Chelsea has some funny predicaments too. (being a Tina the Taco mascot and working the sign up table for the Beach Body Hottie Contest.) And there is also the element of the alcholic mom in the Grace plot. But this is a light hearted, fun and funny read to be enjoyed by Applegate fans since Making Out has ceased to produce any new books.

Enjoy!

Review: OK, this book starts out w/ Kate and her friend Chelsea going sumolace called Ocean City. Sine they get there a day late, the house that Kate rented out for the summer is unavailable (I cant spell if u didnt already notice). So they find this one house that is up for rent. One problem. The house rent is sky high. So they go out and find some roomates. Soon they have is 3 girls, 2 guys. (well, really there is 3 guyz, but the third 1 lives in a boat house on the property). When Kate finds out who lives in the boathouse, she is ready to move out. Then........... Just read the book, OK.

Summary: Whoa Nelly, These Books ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-)
Review: The Making Waves series totally rocks! I've read the first 5 of the series. I've cried tears of sadness and tears of happiness while reading each of these books. They've made me think different about people in wheel chairs, and made me really really want to visit Ocean City. Katherine Applegate is by far a very talented and wonderful writer, and I hope she keeps coming out with books just as wonderful as the books that make up the Making Waves Series. Hope ya have lots of fun reading these great books! ...

Summary: Making Waves Book #1 Review
Review: When I went to the bookstore the title jumped out at me. I picked it up and turn the first page to see if it was a series and it is. I decided to buy the first three books because Applegate is my favorite author. She writes about relationships that are happening in our generation which I feel is very important. I read this book and then I read the second one and I am now on the third and I LOVE it so far. I can't wait for the fourth one to come out. If you like love triangles, issues dealing with ignorance and prejudice, and real dilemas that you can relate to then I urge you to get this book and read it. This is a great summer read!!!
