Summary: A different opinion
Review: May I take this oppurtunity to comment on how awful I found this book to be. Jacob was an unnecessary piece of literature. Slow. Boring. In one word, yuck.

Summary: A deeply moving story of finding where you belong.
Review: I was really moved by this well written story. I was really able to identify with Louise, for I have always lived in the shadow of my sister. I felt that by reading this book, that perhaps, I could find where I belong in this world. I loved this book so much that I have gone back and reread "Jacob Have I Loved" at least six times! It has truly been the best book I have ever read. I laughed and cried with them. I loved all of the characters. It was well written, humorous and touching. A great read!!!

Summary: I loved this book!!
Review: I really liked the way that the author presented the characters. The book was really interesting because Sara faced the same problems that I did.

Summary: This book is interesting to all and relates well to all.
Review: I found this book suprisingly different. To what I thought would be a dull and dreery book, was in my life relating experences. The book is the most reveling of the small town way of life. Therefore, it is truely the most different way, for a small town person , to look on how life can be fulfilled in the most astonsing ways. I truely can relate and urge all to read this enjoyable novel. Due to its all age range relatence and acceptance. THANKS!! :)

Summary: Why did you make Wheeze's life turn out so bad?
Review: I hated how Sara was always so helpless. She never stood up to her sister when she was 'taking' something from her. She really should have sreamed and complained to everyone when Caroline was able to go to a school in Baltimore. I would have. May the author please make a continuation of this book and make it seem that after all, her life did turn out happy and her sister's life miserable?

Summary: a good soliloquy of growing up
Review: This book takes place on a small island in Massachusetts, which makes for a lot of tension between characters. As a result, the main character picks up and moves, leaving everything behind her. "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." Romans 3:12

Summary: The Inspiring Work of Katherine Paterson
Review: Jacob Have I Loved was an inspiring book. The book captured me into the smell of the saltwater and the strong winds of the hurricanes. The issues that Louise, the main character, was facing caused me to feel her anger and pain. Katherine Paterson has inspired me to strive for whatever I want to do and to not be afraid.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: I would reccomend this book to anyone who feels confined or lonely. It is such a great book about this young girl, "Wheeze" who's only real friend Call, is too dang serious to take any of Wheeze' jokes to humor. But, when an old resident of the island moves in, things change a little in Wheeze's life. She still feels that she is treated with not as much gentleness as her 'fragile' sister Caroline, but her heart fills with such a love for this old man. It was so powerful in the way that it diescribed this young girl's emotions. Please, go read this book. You'll love it!
