Rating: Summary: Excellant! Review: An excellant book! I finished reading the entire series in no time. Heartwarming and suspenseful, it's a great book for teenagers.
Rating: Summary: Surprising. Review: Considering the fact that the last four SVU books (the diaries of Sam, Jessica, Elizabeth, and Chloe) were awful (and I'm being nice here)with the exception of the Chloe book, which was just plain bad, I was very, very surprised with this new series. I was disappointed with the cover and am saddened that Ms. Pascal has decided to go back to drawings instead of photographs. However, the statement about not judging a book by it's cover is so true, especially with this book. I have never been to London, and was very delighted with Elizabeth's perception of the city. It was refreshing that everything did not go exactly as planned and kind of reminded me a little of a movie (the Very Thought of You) with a gorgeous British actor (Joseph Fiennes)in that Elizabeth left the U.S. with very little thought or planning. I've read Sweet Valley books since i was in the fourth grade, and this one is one of the best I've ever read. Sometimes it amazes me that the same author that wrote the horrible diary books also wrote this one. It has quickly become one of my favorite Sweet Valley books and will probably remain a favorite for years to come. I am anxiously awaiting the next book, though I am wondering: are they going to come out with a Jessica series too? That would be interesting.
Rating: Summary: A decision for a life time. Review: Elizabeth is a young woman that has many decisions in her life to make. These decisions were hard and permanent. She believed in herself and made the right choice to her own perspective. I believe that what she did was truthful and right. This book: University, Interrupted, is a great book! I personally don't like to read, but this book made me want to go on and on into the next chapter. It shows you the way out of a bad day, or even a way out of trouble. You can learn that living alone, you have to be independent and responsible for your decisions and your life!
Rating: Summary: Wheres Jess :( Review: Entitled Elizabeth, this series aint as good as Sweet Valley Uni .Francine Pascal, creator,is repeating her pattern of,"I have a great series here so why dont I halt it and start something new and not as exciting"Luckily the author of SVU and Elizabeth(Laurie John)is really good and still manages to keep you turning the pages,in this 1st book anyway.I have grown up loving the sweet valley twins and am happy to go wherever they go!In this case Elizabeth, lost, desperate, devastated,is in England. However!,this series is nothing on Svu.And Jess isnt in it..not yet anyway! And that duchess,Sarah,Im rather uninterested in her whether-or-not-to-lose-her-virginity- crisis.Get back to Sweet Valley Uni Elizabeth!!!!!!!!!I dont know if you will be happier but WE sure will!
Rating: Summary: London Review: first of all i think that Elizabeth was stupid in the sense that she shouldn't have even thought about giving up a great scholarship for any guy. If they love you, they would be willing to wait for you. also, i have to say that she should have gone home and gotten money before she left. Also it was brave of her to stand up to her parents like that. The only thing this needs is what happened to her life in Sweet Valley, like if her parents are looking for her and if Jess told Nina or Sam that Liz is in London.
Rating: Summary: Not that psyched about this Review: First of all,i like to say that when i first started the book,i know that there'll be loads of tears, pain and sorrow.I never expected to see Elizabeth crying at least once in every chapter. She's always reminding herself about Sam,Jessica and her parents. It's like she's a limp doll, not the strong and confident girl we always read about last time.I just keep flipping the pages until she finally reached London.Only the sights in London were Ok for me.Overall, this book AND SERIES deserve to be in the trash.
Rating: Summary: Come back Sweet Valley! Review: How could Liz do this? She just thinks that it is okay, no problem, to just jump into some plane and take off to London? I totally understand her hurt in the Jess and Sam situation, but running away from her problems just isn't going to solve them. And if she really wanted the intership, she should have made up her mind and called the University. I am glad to see that she has a place to stay, but I mean . . . how is this all going to play out? I agree - I miss Tom and Dana and WInston, Denise, Alex(Enid), Bruce, and Lila a lot. I even miss good ol' Alison Quinn and the old Thetas. If we are just focusing of Liz, how are we going to know what is happening with Jessica at all, and if she's going to A: Move to Oakley B: Try to Find Liz and C: If she is doing ok and what is going on in general with her. Oh, yeah, and even though I know this is old, I have to say it - I miss Nick too! Doesn't anyone els at all miss the old SVUs and the carefree, fun, exciting books that we couldn't put down? Despite what I just told you, I do love SVU and I will definitely keep reading - but I hope things improve soon!
Rating: Summary: i loved it!!! Review: I am a great fan of Sweet Valley. i have started reading (and collecting) the books when i was really young starting with sweet valley kids, till now with sweet valley university. even though i had read better books, and keep my favorate book at the carnival ghost, part of the sweet valley twins series, i thought this book was a hit. i really like how they discribe every part of her adventure from the sights and sounds in the airport the the streets of london england. even though the adventure she took was a little to Coincidental(i dont know if that is spelled right) i am proud that she is on her own(finally). it basicallystarts out when elizabeth catches her sister kissint her boyfriend. little did she know jessica was saving her from loseing her verginity with the wrong guy. instead Elizabeth hops on a plane to london with her schallarship, which she is soon to realize when she gets there has been taken by someone elce cause she hasent responded by the dead line. so she gets stuck on the street with barley any money. and to her surprie she gets a job for a family of royalty as a made. hope you enjoyed the book as much as i did.
Rating: Summary: Not consistent or realistic Review: I have been a reader of Sweet Valley for fourteen years now, so yes I am a little older than the average reader. I have them all, and I will keep getting them until they are no longer written. However, I wish the author was more consistent with the storylines. I realize more than one person has written the different Sweet Valley series, but each author should keep up with what the characters have and have not done. This book made it seem as if this was Elizabeth's first time in London. But she went to London in high school with Jessica for an internship with a newspaper. I realize these books are meant for younger readers, but the plot is just totally unrealistic. She hops on a plane and ends up in London running around with nothing all day and night until she comes to a house where they give her a job and it just happens to belong to a royal family? Somehow that just doesn't seem too realistic to me. I'm also disappointed that so many characters have just been written out of the books. Even before this Elizabeth series started, Winston, Alexandra (Enid), Tom, Dana, Denise, Todd, Bruce, and others were found few and far between in the last ten to twelve books. Having grown up reading about some of them for years, it is disappointing to see them discarded. I do have to say however, that I am loyal and even though I am disappointed I will keep buying and reading the Sweet Valley books.
Rating: Summary: University, Interrupted Review Review: I just finished reading this book, and it was excellent! I highly recommend it to teen girls. The book goes from being set in a small town in Illinois to the busy, bustling city of London. The basic story plot is that Elizabeth's twin sister Jessica is found cheating with Elizabeth's boyfriend Sam, and Elizabeth is shocked, hurt, and eager to get as far away as possible from both of them. She decides to accept her scholarship to the prestigious University of London. Many struggles await her as she enters a place completely different from home. The author is very descriptive when talking about London, which makes you want to hop on a plane and go there! The author is also great at describing the feelings of Elizabeth. I could completely relate to the way she was feeling, and I am sure you will be able too. So, what are you waiting for...click "buy" and get ready to read a book you'll never forget!
