Summary: Real empathy
Review: This book was so good I actually finished it in one sitting. Anne is so charming, though by today's standards she would seem like the biggest suck up ever, but she does it out of sincerity, and considering the time period, its very good and hilarious at times.
After I read it, I was so enthralled into the her that I actually thought I was Anne for a couple seconds.

The movie is good if not better, its funnier, for sure, and Megan Fallows is the perfect choice for Anne. The Anne and Gilbert relationship may have been overplayed, but it is still worth watching.

Summary: A greatly written book.
Review: This was a great book. I loved it very much. It feels like it is true when u r reading it. It brings u 2 a different time, maybe @ a different place. In this book u learn of many new people that Anne and Gilbert Blythe meet. They learn of the past in these peoples lives and meet "kindred Spirits." I greatly enjoyed this book. I recommend it 2 anyone who has an imagination.

Summary: One of the best books ever, a true classic!!
Review: I have read this whole "Anne" series three times and plan on reading them again one day. They are true classics and I think you are missing out on one of life's pleasures if you do not read these books! They are my favorites as they make me laugh, cry and all in all feel a little different about life. Yes, one could say they are life altering. I want my daughter to read these books. These are treasures that should be handed down from generation to generation. Reading a book by Ms. Montgomery is a gift that one should be thankful for. Anne is such a wonderful character that she becomes your friend and you will never forget her. The daily life of Anne seems pretty simple but yet it is riveting and you never want to stop reading about her. Each character is brought to life in such a way that you marvel at the talent this author had. It is one of those rare books that you must stop reading periodically to catch your breath and I found myself reading certain parts over and over. I highly recommend this series to young and old alike as it is timeless! Is it not amazing how this author had to use no bad language, graphic, shocking violence or sexuality to create a riveting story? She writes only of a young orphan girl's life and those she encounters along the way and we are mesmerized. Not many authors like that any more.

Summary: Anne of Green Gables
Review: This is the first book in the Anne of Green Gables series. The first time i read this book was in 6th grade, i've read it many times since then(i own it). And each time I read it, the more i like it. Before I read this book, i didn't think i would like it because it's a classic. But, one of my friends convinced me to read it. And it became one of my favorite books and still is. In this book, eleven year old Anne, who is an orphan, comes to live with a brother and sister who own a farm. The problem? They wanted a boy to help out on their farm. But, Anne wins them over with her sparkling personality. Even if she does seem to be a maganet for trouble. This is one of those books that you want to go on forever. Good thing, there's plenty of sequals. An excellent book.

Summary: Emily series is better
Review: These books about Anne are just too wholesome to be true. Without some semblance of truth, a story loses something. And I didn't like the way Anne could be broken down so easily. She made me sick. She did what ever the people around her told her to, just so they would like her and keep her. And she didn't aspire to be anything more than a simple school teacher. The book is depressing and so are the ones that follow it. If you really want to read something by L.M. Montgomery read the Emily books. Emily Star is tougher and much wilder than Anne, and so much more believeable.

Summary: To be Anne
Review: That's Anne with an 'E'. Yes, I LOVE all of the tales of Anne. I have read and re-read these books many, many times. Everytime I finish one I long to start over again. In this the first book of the series we are introduced to Anne. We have the privilage of sharing in her love, her triumph, her trials. This book is truly a must read of all young (or not so young) woman.

Summary: A great growing up story.
Review: I believe that this story is great for young and old alike. I grew up with Anne and I still love her. She is real. She makes you laugh, cry, and just about any other emotion comes to mind when I read about her escapades. I encourage everyone to read not only the first in the series, but every single book. Don't miss a moment in Anne's life. You will laugh when she laughs. You'll cry when she cries. When she gets mad at Gilbert Blythe; well, you get the picture. I am now 24 years old, and I still wouldn't trade in my Anne books or any of Lucy Maud Montgomery's books. So, in all, read them for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
