Summary: Anne:the book of how one kid made a difference
Review: Anne Shirley is a redhaired, imaginative, orphan that wants a family of her own. By the time she is twelve, her imagination has grown and she thinks that she has finally found a family. Unfortunetly, the family that wanted her actually wanted a boy, not a girl. they decide to put her on trial to see if she would be teh right one for them. By having Anne stay just on trial, the family who was in the past very stern and straight, have fallen in love with her featherbrained ways. She often gets into scrapes, including falling off a ridgepool of a roof, smashing a slate on a boy's head, and even dying her "horrid" read hair away(only to make it a green color.) After reading this enrathing book, continue to get pulled into Anne's world by reading the rest of the 7 book theory and even the 3 movies that were made inher honor. This is a book that you will enjoy and cherish for years to come. *Note: this book is set in the late 1800's.*

Review: Megan Fellows, who stared as Anne Shirley in the TV productions, narrates three stories in a classic collection taken from three Anne books. Anne Of Green Gables introduces the spunky orphan, Anne Of Avonlea tells of Anne's newfound role as a schoolteacher, and Anne Of The Island follows Anne away from home and in love. All come alive in an audio format.

Summary: A little piece of yourself
Review: I was first introduced to this book by my elementary school library, I had devoured everything I could get my hands on and had somehow overlooked it. My librarian knowingly handed it to me with a smile.

I fell in love with this book as a child, and still love the book as an adult. I related to Anne (with an E), because she has so many fears that young women experience, no matter the generation. It is a great book to introduce young girls to, and a great series to grow up with. (...)

This is a classic, and I recommend it highly.

Summary: A Great Read
Review: This novel is a delight and a rare gem in classics; charming and endearing. Anne Shirley is an orphaned, sensitive eleven-year-old child and starved of love; yet is imaginative, passionate, and spirited. She is adopted by brusque Marilla Cuthbert, who is hard to please and cold. But Green Gables is a lovely place which Anne immediately loves, with its 'scope for imagination' and Anne soon builds many good chums in her School. Anne's delightful, human impulsiveness makes her falls into endless scrapes and adventures; in between she meets 'kindred spirits' and discovers more charms of the nature around her; and this keeps the book captivating and compelling. This book 'Anne of Green Gables' delicately written and descriptive, full of subtle humour and brightness.

Lucy Maud Montgomery is a wonderful writer and her prose and poetry alike fully capture the spirit of what she tries to portray. It is a must-read for all.

Summary: My favorite book!
Review: Anne is an orphan adopted by the Cuthberts. At first they aren't very nice to her because they had meant to adopt a boy instead. They keep her anyway and Anne becomes part of the family and makes a special friend Diana. She has to learn a lot of things that weren't taught in the orphanage and makes a lot of mistakes. At the end some very sad things happen but Anne goes to college and fulfils her dreams. This story taught me to never give up because at first Anne was a lonely orphan but she kept trying and came out of college with many honors.

Summary: Anne of Green Gables is the Sweetest
Review: Anne of Green Gables by Sylvia Ashby is the most adventurous and romantic story I have ever read. It is about a young orphan girl, named Anne, who is adopted by two older couples that take care of her throughout her life. This book is like a story that tells about a young orphan girl who changed so many lives in so many different ways. In other books that relate to this story theme don't know how to tell how they changed another's heart or feelings towards other things. They also don't expand the main character's feelings and actions towards others. At least in Anne of Green Gables the author described that she loved to read and write, and how she wants to be treated towards others. I loved this story and I will throughout my life. I thought that this story had alot of feelings towards the characters in the story. The way that the author related it to people here in life, but not all the things in this story happen here in life. Some people don't treat eachothers with respect or always ask for forgiveness when something that they had done was wrong. The way that Anne handeled herself througout the story. Anne was always adventurous and full of love and joy. Even when someone told her that she couldn't do something she would always be understanding do whatever they would tell her to do. At times when someone made fum of her hair or made a rude commet to her she would always lose her temper and snap back at them. If they didn't say anything than she would always be looking forward to reading a good book, writing stories, or writing poems. In one part of the book Anne said,"May I go to the concert with Diana and her parents?" Marilla responded," No you cannot go." Anne put up a struggle then said," Oh all right, but this will be the one thing that will break my heart." (PG.65) This is the most wonderful book in the history of Anne of Green Gables. Anybody can read this book if you love to read about adventurous, love, joyful stories.

Summary: Children's Literature at it's height
Review: A few weeks ago, I got really sick of today's children's literature. I had read enough mysteries and trashy books about romance to last me a lifetime. So I wanted something else to read, something well-written with a good plot and lifelike characters. I had to look no further than the first book I picked up- Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery.

Anne of Green Gables is the first book in the Anne of Green Gables series. It takes place, as most of L. M. Montgomery's books do, on Prince Edward Island in Canada. This particular story takes place in the town of Avonlea. It follows young Anne Shirley, an orphan brought to Green Gables to help Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert on their farm. Much to Anne's dismay, Marilla tells her that they wanted a boy to help around the farm, not a girl. However, Marilla changes her mind and decides to keep the dynamic young girl who would become Anne of Green Gables.

This novel is incredibly written, with well-developed characters and an intricate plot. I absolutely loved it. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great example of children's literature at its height.

Summary: It is not often noted how hilarious Anne is!
Review: I read all the Anne of Green Gables books as an adult. I read them recently, back to back, checking out 4 at a time from the library! While I agree that the books are wonderful beyond words, I also wanted to point out that they are really funny! (Something that was missed in the movie, by the way.) I laughed and cried all the way through them!
