Rating: Summary: Simply wonderful.... Review: This is a great book and one of the best parts is that it has seven other books after it! This way you don't have to part with the lovable red haired, Anne! L.M. Montgomery is one of the best writers to have ever lived. You should also check out The Blue Castle, you will be happy you did.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've ever read Review: When I buy it, I didn't expect this book would be so good. It's simply the best book I've read in my whole life. Some of the adventures (and disadventures) of this charming redhead girl are really funny and the story is very beautiful. If I could I would rate this book with much more than five stars.
Rating: Summary: You've Gotta Read it! Review: This is the best book I have read ever! I don't like reading very much, but after reading a few pages of Anne of Green Gables, I refused to put it down. The main character, Anne, is a girl who I would like to meet. She is so lively, imaginative, talkative, and has a warm personality. Some of her thoughts are just incredible. She is also such a funny girl. The book has kept me smiling while I read.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: I really liked this book because it is so sweet and that the main character is quite funny sometimes. It is a really good book and it has problems, good times. A perfect book indeed. Read it!
Rating: Summary: "Anne Of Green Gables" Is Cool! Review: I liked it alot. It is probbly the only 373 page book I actually made time to read.
Rating: Summary: If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would... Review: I simply loved the book after our teacher read it to us so I crept up into the library and checked it out. It is simply delightful and Anne SPELT WITH AN E is a girl with great hopes for her future. She has a head full of dreams and nobody is the same after she comes. I would also recommend for everybody to view the video of Anne of Green Gables. I would love to hear from you so e-mail me at razanjellybeans@yahoo.co.uk and tell me more about what you think. Lucy Montgomery is talented indeed for giving us this wonderful book to read again and again!
Rating: Summary: an Imaginative orphan finds a home. Review: A spunky one of a kind orphan finds a home in Green Gables with Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert. It is about how she grows, learns from her mistakes, and draws love out of the Cuthberts.
Rating: Summary: The best book in the world! Review: I totally LOVE this book! This is one of my favorite books in the whole world by my absolute FAVORITE author, L.M. Montgomery. Anne Shirley, the delightful, talkative orphan that Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert adopt, is an extraordinary character. She's so full of life that you just can't help loving her. L.M. Montgomery paints a wonderful picture of the small town of Avonlea, in Prince Edward Island, Canada, where the story is set. As Anne gets older and more mature, she also gets wiser and more loving - and lovable. I've read this book at least three times, and it is still one of my absolute favorites. Even though this is classified as a "children's book," adults will love it too, I know. I read it first when I was 9 or 10 years old, then again when I was about 12, and again, just recently (I'm only 14 now). I also think that it would be a wonderful book for moms and dads to read to their children, no matter how old or young they were.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring! Review: Without a doubt this classic piece of work shaped my life in various ways. I cannot emphasize how positive Anne Shirley is as a character. She is a heroine who is not only beautiful(spirit) but extremely intelligent. The most drastically different aspect of the novel is the fact that the romantic male character, Gilbert, gestures to the idea that "being smart is better than being pretty". How often spoken or written are those words? I believe that phrase is something young girls must recognize as well as understand in life. For beauty is fleeting and knowledge is eternal. Timeless and pure, I suggest this novel for anyone who loves a bit of comedy, romance, intrigue, and pure fun. This novel has it all. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: This is a book to last your whole life long... Review: My mother read this book not very many years after it was written and she loved it. When I was 8 (many years ago) she bought it for me. I recall that I had trouble getting in to it -- but once past the first chapter I devoured it again and again. Anne is witty, charming, imaginative AND she is very much ahead of her time in her pride in her intellectual abilities. She competes with (gasp) a boy for a scholarship and for a job. And we don't question her right to do so. A worthy role model.I could never estimate the number of times I've read this book. I could never estimate the comfort and support it brought me through my growing up years. Lucy Montgomery gave a great and wonderful gift to generations of little girls -- of all ages.
