Caroline B. Cooney
This story takes place in the London. Williams family was a normal family as almost all the others. But everything changes as Laura's brother Billy dies by the terrorist.Laura was a normal girl. She wanted to go to the shopping with others, she wanted to date guys, etc. But after that terrorism, her mind fills with the revenge. She does everything to find the suspect for her brother's death.
I think this book is very interesting. Once you start reading, it's hard to put it down, in fact I finished this book in one day. You can tell how interesting this book is by noticing that it's from the best-selling author.
You can find some parts that doesn't quite make sense which causes conflict, but still once you get the basic plot and theme it's really entertaining. Almost at the end of the first chapter, there is a paragraph that explains and makes me to picture the scene. 'Stopped by a woman who was awkwardly balancing a stroller with a baby across the width of the rising stairs, he glanced down at the package. Funny. He didn't remember Georgie or Chris carrying anything. Just book bags slung on their shoulders. There was something very British about the package. Not American. The whole way it was wrapped. The cheapness of the cellophane tape. The texture of the brown paper. He remembered the signs and warnings at Heathrow. Do not leave any luggage Unattended. He remembered the fire drills at school, which the big kids said were really bomb drills. There was a sickening moment of knowledge. He could not throw the package into the innocent crowd. There was no place to se it down. Nor could he give it back. In front of him was a sleepiong baby. Oh, Mom! thought Billy, turning away from the stroller and wrapping himself around the package. The package exploded.'
Are you shocked now? For me it was very interesting.
I guess for heras the morning awakes, it was very hard for Williams family for fighting against the lament of losing Billy.
As the morning awakes...
As the morning awakes, are you the one that's happy? Or are you the one who's always nervous and anxious for the day?

Summary: Terror
Review: "No, No. Not Billy." said Laura. The Terrorist by: Caroline B. Cooney. The Terrorist is about a boy named Billy and his sister Laura. They lived in Boston with their parent, and their lives were going great. Billy was a paperboy, and Laura was a student. Until... They had to move to London. Laura and Billy had to transfer schools and Billy still maintained his paper routes. One day Billy and two of his friends were taking the underground to deliver some packages. As they raced to the top of the escalator Billy got stopped by a man who claimed his friend dropped a package. Billy was questionable but took it anyway. A couple seconds later the package exploded. Laura had just gotten off the bus, and saw the crime scene people started walking towards her as she said, "No, No. Not Billy." Unfortunately, it was. Laura and her mother and father were filled with remorse. Their own son died of a package bomb. Laura had a mission. To find the terrorist. Can she do it? Will she find the one who is responsible for her brothers' death? Read the book to find out.

I think this book is a very well thought out book. The author has written a very inspiring story. A sister trying to hunt down the person who killed her brother is pretty intriguing. She knows how to write a creative story. It was very interesting of how Caroline picked this plot, about a terrorist. I liked her way of thinking.
I personally think it is one of the best books that I have read in the past 4 years. I have read other books like this, but never written in such a way that you can't put it down. This book hasn't won any awards but I think it should be nominated for one. It is very good book and I recommend it to anyone.

Summary: The Terrorist
Review: The Terrorist, by Caroline B. Cooney, was absorbing from the first page. Laura Williams's life is complicated enough. But when a package bomb in the London subway blows her only brother's life away, Laura must set everything in her world aside and find out who killed Billy. All she wanted now was revenge. Laura's head is filled with relentless questions. Who would want to kill someone as cheerful and giving as Billy? Who will be their next victim? But the biggest question of all preoccupied her thoughts. Was the killer someone who Laura knew? Someone she knew well and went to school with? Everyone is a suspect.
Throughout this book, Laura is filled with sorrow, anger, hate, and revenge. "I'm going to kill them. She felt in her hands the ability to hold a weapon; the ability to use it; and the need. They're going to die just the way Billy did."
Every page of The Terrorist is filled with Laura's thoughts and efforts on trying to find the suspect. While questioning everyone at school, Laura realizes that she knows nothing on the subject. She's an absent-minded teenager who before these events had no interest in terrorist groups that might be against Americans, like Billy.
I've never read a book like this, so I really enjoyed it. It was really good because the events leading up to the end made it hard to put down. It also has a shocking conclusion that makes it all worthwhile. Teen's ages 11-17 would enjoy it.

Summary: The Terrorist
Review: Hi my name is Bryant and i think this book is an outstanding book of what goes through the minds of people that live outside out our country. It tells you what people thought of other religons. It tells you who were enemys. It shows what some people would do for there freedom. I goes to the extreme just for papers, which we think is stupid, but we dont really understand what happens over seas intell u actually live there. So i would tell everyone to read this book. This book is also on many banned book lists for children. I would say this is a banned because they wont to hide the truth of what happens even today in the world, but i would say a kid should read this at the age 14 or higher to actually get all the meaning out of this story.

Summary: It kept me guessing the whole way through!
Review: The Terrorist by Caroline B. Cooney was an amazing book because it really makes you think about life. You guess te whole way through the book of who killed Billy.
I liked the book a lot! Billy seemed like such a fun loving guy and so interesting! "She never seemed to be on top of his collections, no matter how often he showed them to her. Billy sighed heavily and brought out a three-ring notebook with clear plastic envelope pages. Neatly slotted within was his toilet paper" page 4. He was so full of life and it was so sad to see he died from a bomb. He was so brave. "Oh mom! Thought Billy, turning away from the stroller and wrapping himself around the package. The package exploded." page 11. I can never get over that part! Shivers run up my spine each time I think of him doing that to save other people, and also how Laura must feel when she heard the news. I liked how the book kept u guessing until the end, and you still aren't sure if she did it. I also like how it gave you an inside point of view of how foreigners lived and felt. Most of all I like how the thrill of the book never let you put it down!
The theme of The Terrorist can be described as the pain families go through after losing a loved one. I agree with this. I cannot even imagine Laura felt through it all, and not knowing who killed him and for what purpose. I almost lost my grandfather, that was hard enough, but to completely lose him is worse. I feel related to this book in the sense that the fear people in London went through not knowing who the next victim was for this terrorist, when and where he was going to strike next, and could I be the next to be affected? September 11th put a lot of people through this fear, and more recently, the Sniper act.
I would definitely recommend this book to others. It's so exciting and mysterious. You really can click with the characters. You can try and guess who did it, but it's totally unexpected! I never wanted to set it down!
