Rating: Summary: Pre-teen girls don't wear wigs ¿ but Anya does Review: Pre-teen girls don't wear wigs - but Anya does, and when Keely and her group find out, they imagine the worst. Anya is struggling with a disease which causes baldness, and which has made her a near recluse. Rating: Summary: Because of Anya Review: This is a very informative book about alopecia areata from a child's point of view. This is a good book for later elementary children to read. It helps prepare them in advance for what they might have to face, their friends may have to face, or something they are already facing. The book is very well written and put together. Also it helps kids to see they don't have to follow everything that their friends do. Stef tries to boss everybody around, but Keely finally stands up to her. This is a good example for children. It helps children to see that they can be their own individual person and stand up for themselves. It takes you on a journey with Anya from when she first finds out about the disease to later on. You are able to experience her experiences with her as she encounters them. This book would hold a readers attention and appeal to a wide range of readers.
