Rating: Summary: Great Book. . .The movie was GREAT too! Review: oK, I heard of Nicholas Sparksbefore but wasn't really motivated to go out and read any of his books. All of a sudden (in 2001) The movie for the resently published book was coming out. It looked like a great movie and I wanted to see it. Of course I wasn't going to see the movie without reading the book, so after I remembered themovie and book a few years later, I read and saw them, of course they were great. Sparks does warn you from the beginning that it's gonna be happy then sad, so you kind of know what's going to happen but that doesn't ruin the story. Because of Landon's comical nature and Jaimie's gooh-heartedness you really get into and feel the story. It's beautifully written and this was one time in the story I wished that something improbable and magical could happen. This was definitely one of the best books I have ever read, and OH, i have read quite a few. The only reason why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was because of obvious plots in the story.READ THE BOOK!
Rating: Summary: a random book review Review: Nichohlas Sparks did an incredible job with hid story, A Walk to Remember. This book keeps you reading page after page. I found it difficult to ever put it down until i was completely finished. This story shows how people can change and learn to see a person's inner beauty. It all begins when Landon Carter is 57 years old and all his memories of his first love flow back to him like a dream. These memories are both good and bad. This brings him back to his memories of Jamie Sullivan, who was at first just a date to the Homecoming Dance. The only reason he had asked her in the first place was because it was a requirement for him to go. He had just ended a serious relationship and couldn't find a date. Then, however she asks him to be a part in her father's Christmas play, and through this they develop an incredible friendship. They enventually fall in love and Landon finds himself feeling guilty for all the pain he had caused her in the past. He realizes what a wonderful person Jamie Sullivan really was. Landon Carter was somewhat "lost" in the book. He doesn't really have that much of an identity so he pulls off this bad boyish act. This really isn't the true Landon Carter. The main reason why he is the way he is is beacause of the way his father was. His father was never really around while he was growing up, which made his life difficult at times. He normally just goes along with what others does, until Jamie comes along. He finially finds what he is looking for, someone to love him. Jamie, on the contrary, knew exactly who she was and her purpose in life for a long time. Her father was a minister at the Southern Baptist Church and was slightly over protective, but loved her very much. Her mother died at childbirth, but i think this just gave her more perspective on life. She was always incredibly religious, and she never failed to put a smile on everyone's face. She was the kindest girl anyone knew. The love story between Jamie and Landon is ironic because they are such different people. However, people always say that opposites attract. I think this story shows that this is because sometimes, you need the traits you don't have. That doesn't neccesarrily mean you have to change yourself, you just have to find the good traits you don't have in someone else.

Whoever doesn't read this, is missing out on something really special...=)
Rating: Summary: Touching story Review: This was a very touching story. A good read for all ages because it does not contain any sex or bad language. I read it in one evening so it must have been a good book! LOL The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was quite predictable and I have never seen the movie.

Rating: Summary: A Walk to Remember Review: The book that I read was entitled "A Walk to Remember" written by Nicholas Sparks. It is a book that really touches the heart and makes you feel good all over. This book is about two adolescent teens who are trying to make the best off life. The boy, Landon Carter, is wild and ambitious teenager who gets into some trouble with police department after he get caught trespassing. He is sentenced to complete community service with younger children with learning disabilities. Also as part of his punishment he must participate in the high school play. There he is casted as the leading role and then starts to notice a young lady who is somewhat plainer and more to herself. She is the only child of the preacher and doesn't hand out with the "cool" kids. Her name is Jamie. As time goes on and they spend more time together Landon falls for Jamie Sullivan. He realizes that love is more important popularity. He falls more and more, the whole time Jamie is hiding a deep secret from Landon. Finally Jamie admits to Landon that she is dying of Leukemia. Landon gives Jamie the wedding that she always dreamed of, but in the end Jamie passes on, but in her short life she has managed to turn the life of Landon around and he goes on to succeed in life. As Landon goes on he always hold a special place in his heart for his one true love. I give this book a wonderful review. It was definitely what I would call a real "tear-jerker." I would greatly recommend this book to anyone wanting to appreciate the gift of life and the wonderful people you know though out it.
Rating: Summary: Critique of A Walk to Remember Review: In Nicholas Spark's novel A Walk to Remember, the main point is that life is too short to not live your life like you want to live it. Accidents happen or you may get stuck with a sickness that can not be cured, and you can not do anything about it. You just have to live life with a positive attitude and live as normally as possible. Landon Carter hangs out with the popular crowd at his high school. He has no worries, no cares, and he just lives one day at a time taking life for granted. Landon gets in some trouble and has to help out at school more than he would like. He also has to act in a school play. Doing these things he gets to know who Jamie Sullivan really is. Jamie is the girl that Landon and all of his buddies make fun of at school, she is a girl that Landon would never think about being with if he did not have to spend time with her. But they do start spending time together because Jamie is in the play with Landon, and he really gets to know her. Then he starts to like her. After Landon falls in love with Jamie, she is forced into telling him that she has cancer. She has a list of all the things she wants to do before her life is over, and Landon tries his best to make all of her wishes come true. They get married, but only a short time later Jamie dies, leaving Landon Carter's life changed forever. Spark's wrote this book for an audience made of mostly teen girls and women. But anyone could read this book. The love that Landon has for Jamie would make anyone feel good. The love brings together two teens from different lifestyles, with different goals, and different outlooks on life. It seemed as if Landon was put in Jamie's life for a reason, and she knew that he was sent especially to her. Even though Jamie's life was short, she had everything she wanted because of Landon. I loved reading A Walk to Remember. It was such a good book because anyone can relate to it. There have been many instances when I have seen that life is short. Everyone should try to live there life like Jamie did. If something is wrong, don't let it get the best of you. No one in Jamie's school even knew that Jamie has cancer because she did not dwell on it. She did the same things that she would have done even if she was not sick.
