Summary: Another Love Story
Review: Nicholas Sparks is ever so good at writing a love story that floods your mind and stirs your heart.I have read Sparks' The Notebook and Message in a Bottle and it is my opinion that A Walk to Remember falls short of The Notebook but is better than MIAB. The story is narrated from a first person's point of view, which is my favourite in novels. Landon tells us his story from 40 years ago, a year of his life which changed him forever. We are introduced to Jamie, a plain "good" girl whom everyone can identify with: conservative wear, no make-up, carries a Bible all the time. Landon, then 17, young, brash, eager to blend into the crowd. As "the Lord's plan" throws the two together, we smile and go "awwww" as we see them falling in sweet, innocent, wholesome love which we often wish for ourselves. Sparks is able to wrench our hearts and at the same time, preparing us at the back of our minds, for something that would pop the bubble. Along the lines of his other 2 novels, heartache was inevitable. Would you cry? Would you scorn at the predictability of the story? Do find out for yourself.

Summary: The meaning of lasting love -- for teens
Review: This is pure schmaltz, a genuine tear-jerker written for impressionable young teenagers to outline a more serious approach to love than the usual "let's hit the sack and have some fun" approach. The story isn't nearly as good as "Love Story" by Eric Segal, but that's a minor quibble. Segal dealt with college students; Sparks has written a book that relates to high school and junior high students who have not yet begun to date seriously. The theme of the book is very simple: true love is based on the content of a person's character, not on chest size or the willingness to engage in sex play. It's a favorite theme of Sparks, the idea of an enduring love that overcomes and outlasts all obstacles and setbacks. He used it well in "Message in a Bottle," dealing with two middle-aged adults who are old enough to have sex. In this book, it's two kids who barely hold hands and share only a few chaste kisses, which makes it clearly designed and suitable for the teen and pre-teen audience. Any normal teen will appreciate it; and parents can feel safe the book is as tame as a Donald Duck cartoon.. One brief excerpt, near the end, nicely sums up the whole approach: "We kissed again, too, though not every time we were together, and I didn't even think of trying to make it to second base. There wasn't any need to. There was something nice when I kissed her, something gentle and right, and that was enough for me. The more I did it, the more I realized that Jamie had been misunderstood her entire life, not only by me, but by everyone." Think of the movie "Titanic" without any hint of sex or nudity, and you have this book in a nutshell. "Titanic" made millions of innocent young girls weep copious tears for a love that was snuffed out by the disaster to the ship; "A Walk to Remember" will appeal to the same girls who want such a love to come into their lives. If you're a parent of a teen child, buy this book. Read it yourself, it deals with a fate and feelings that many adults carry through their entire lives. It is a warm reminiscence of a long lost love that might have been, and it tugs on those adult heartstrings. Then let your kids have it, it relates to them on their level and it is one of the best introductions you'll find to the meaning of love in contrast to the shallow sensual emphasis that dominates so much of today's movies and novels. Kids who read it will grow into mature sensitive adults with an ability to understand that true love involves more than chest sizes and hot pants; it will help them become true adults instead of perpetual teenagers.

Summary: Completely Unforgettable! The Meaning of True Love
Review: I don't remember when I have been so emotional over a book. Movies, maybe, but not books. Eventhough this was one of the sadest books I have ever and probably will ever read, I will also keep a copy. The story of the high school couple is so unbelievably sweet and touching. Once you begin reading the book you just have to know what happens. I could not, no matter how hard I tried, put the book down to finish later. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know what true love is and/or to anyone who just needs a good cry.

Review: A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks, is a book that anyone and everyone could love. Sparks created a variety of emotions by different events that expressed happy, sad, angry and confusing feelings. The main character, Landon Carter, is telling the story from his point of view 45 years later. The story takes place during his senior year of high school in a small town in North Carolina. The other main character is Jamie Sullivan, a minister's daughter. Jamie is considered one of the strangest people at the high school. She's always carrying around her Bible, and she never wears the newest fashions. Landon gets to know Jamie through the drama class that they are both in. Since she is so friendly, they became friends;well, sort-of. He wasn't her friend when any of his other friends were around, but when it was just the two of them it was different. Soon, Landon fell in love wih Jamie because of her kind ways and for who she was inside. After awhile Landon starts to realize that somthing's different about Jamie; he feels that she's keeping a secret. Landon gets impatient after a period of time and finally confronts Jamie about it. She tells him her secret and he is astonished, he never would have guessed that.... To find out the incredible ending to this wonderful story, read A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. No reader will be able to put it down for a minute.

Summary: Certainly, a book to remember
Review: I have already read a few of Nicholas Sparks books and because I enjoyed them, I decided to pick up "A Walk to Remember". I didn't really know what to expect, however most of the way through I figured out that Sparks seems to have a knack for the romantic, yet tragic love story. This begins with an older man recalling a year of his life that he will never forget. Basically, Landon Carter is the typical senior in high school. He is applying to college and trying to figure out a way to cruise through the year. Also, he is the typical teenager who is worried about his appearance in front of his friends. Somehow, Landon befriends Jamie Sullivan who is the daughter of the town's Baptist minister and a conservative Christian girl. Through the course of the school year, they fall in love as we get to know more about Landon and Jamie and see how these opposites attract. Jamie changes Landon's life forever and he is never the same person. If I say anymore about the plot, I will totally give it away and then you won't need to read it....so that's all I can tell you about the story. This book was refreshing because it was truly romantic because Jamie and Landon only share a few kisses and hand holding. I am very used to any romantic book somehow culminating in some sexual activity, but this book was even better because it didn't. It would make it a great book for a teenager for many reasons. The great morals in respect to showing "love", the fact that everyone has something to offer even if they are different and showing what some of the important things are in life. I would definately recommend reading this book, but I still think that even if you don't enjoy this one, check out some of Sparks' other novels for more tragic love stories!

Review: I am not hard-hearted or lacking in sentiment (I loved "Tuesdays With Morrie"), but the only word I can find to accurately describe this book is CLOYING!

Summary: It is a wonderful book, you will like it, I promise
Review: The story took place in the Beaufort, North Carolina. One of the main characters: Landon Carter, who asked Jamie, another main character, to homecoming dance in their school.Many people in the school didn't like Jamie, they considered that she was a strange girl, always carrying her Bible, never wore fashionalbe clothes, always said:" God arrange this, God arrange that." But Landon can't help falling love with Jamie because he had found out that Jamie was such a sweet, kind girl. She took care of his widowed father, who is the minister in the church of the town, she often went to visit the orphanes in the orphange in the town, she spent most of her time to help them and bring them happiness. This influenced Landon and his life started to change as well.
But maybe the density has played a joke on Landon, when he has totally fallen in love with Jamie, Jamie finally told Landon about her secret: she had a horrible sick and doctor can do nothing about it, she was dying. This really shocked Landon and he can't believe it.
But Landon had to accept the reality, the disease has affected Jamie step by step, day by day. Landon remembered that when one day they were talking about the future, Jamie said that her dream was that one day she could get married by a boy who loves her truely. Landon determined to release her dream and ask Jamie whether she would marry him or not. Jamie said YES, than Landon ran to Jamie's father, who was the minister in the church and asked him to arrange the marriage for them.
On the marriage day, though Jamie was very weak, she insisted to walk by herself on the marriage to approaching Landon, her husband. It took her almost 10 minutes to do it. But this is A WALK TO REMEMBER...
At the end of the book, Landon Carter, who has already been an old man, looked back the life when he was in love with Jamie, he believed, that sometimes miracle could really happen.
Though this book didn't really mention that whethter Jamie died or not, but I can detect that Jamie wasn't dead by that horrible disease because Landon mentioned miracle, only a miracle could save Jamie, and Jamie shouldn't die because we all love her!

Review: A walk to remember is a rockin cool book to read. It is about a boy named Landon Carter and he is a junior in high school. He meets this girl named Jamie Sullivan and they fall in love. One time Landon didnt have a date to the dance. There was only one other girl in his school that was not asked yet.And that was Jaime Sullivan the preacher's daughter the big bookworm that carried her bible everywhere she went. He asked her at her house and she said I dont know. He thought he did something wrong but he really didnt she told him yes two days later. They ended up having a great clown hoppin time.I reccomend this book to the young at heart people living out there somewhere.

Review: The book I read is called A Walk to Remember. The main character is London Carter. He is the one who is telling the story of his life 45 years later. Jamie is considering strangest person is high school. She never wears the newest fashion clothes. Everybody makes fun of her. She always carries around a Bible with her. London is applying to college and trying to figure out a way to cruise through the year. Also he worries about his friends a lot. London is nice and sweet person too.
Jamie wanted to go to the school prom, but she didn't have anyone to go with. She never talked to anyone. The only thing she would say hi and bye. One day London was following her around. Then later on he talked to her and asked her if she wanted to the prom with him. She told him yes, but you have to ask my dad. London asked her dad and he said are you trying to embarrass her in front of other people? He said no sir. Then her dad said ok, but brings her back on time. London wasn't taking her to embarrass her in front of other people. They went to the prom and Jamie was wearing her old skirt like always. London's old girlfriend was drinking a lot. London was staring at her. Then London's girlfriend's boyfriend came. London got in fight and Jamie started to talk to the guy who was fighting with London. Haven't I seen you? He started to talk to her. Then they left and London said thanks to Jamie. Then London's X-girlfriend was drunk. She started to throw up and they took her to the bathroom. Jamie went home. Then later on London fell in love with Jamie. Jamie asked London if he wanted to take place of this other guy for the drama. He did and she looked so pretty when she was playing. She gave her Bible to London for Christmas. He gave her knew sweater. They were going home. They were holding their hands and they were about to kiss but her dad came on them.

Review: This book is about a girl named Jamie, Jamie's father, and a guy named Lendo. Jamie is a normal girl who likes to read books. She went to school and everyone hated her at school, they would always tease her and make fun of her. One day a guy named Lendo just started to like her. He would always followed her to the way back home to Jamie's house. Well there was a dance that was coming up in their school. It was the Winter Formal.Lendo liked her so much. So he asked Jamie to the dance. But Jamie said she would have to ask her father if she could or could not go with Lendo. Jamie's father said yes. So they went to the dance together. Later on Lendo really started to like her. But Jamie goes to the hospital because her hair started to fall off. So the doctor tells Jamie and her dad that she has cancer, that is Lucemia. So her dad and Jamie start to cry, because they are so sad. So she keeps it a secret and doesn't tell Lendo.Few weeks passed by and Lendo did not see Jamie in school so he thought something was wrong so he went t Jamie's house and asked her father "where is Jamie"?. Her father said that she was in the hospital for a few days because she was very sick. Lendo then went to the hospital and saw Jamie going through so much pain. He asked her "Why didn't you tell any of this to me?" Jamie responded and said she couldnt tell because she felt sad. After a few hours after Jamie and Lendo talked, it grew dark so Lendo left Jamie and giving her a goodbye kiss. Next day came it was morning, Lendo got a call from Jamie's father asying that Jamie has passed away from her cancer. They had a funeral and after that funeral Jamie's father gave Lendo a book that Jamie treasured all her life and Lendo has accepted it. Ever since that day Jamie ha passed away Lendo kept that book and never threw it away. I suggest everyone to read this book because it is a very touching book and i am sure you will all like this book by Nicholas Sparks.
