Rating: Summary: Secret of Sarah Revere Review: Secret of Sarah Revere is about Paul Revere's daughter, Sarah. A man comes to the door of the Revere household. He asks Sarah of the happenings of the Revere family in the past year. Sarah begins to think of the last year or so. You will have to read the book to find out all of her thoughts. I really liked this book because it has a story and a history lesson. You really need to have some knowledge of that time period to understand what is going on. This book is good for a male or female, but mostly female because it is a female telling the story. I hope you enjoy the book as much as i did! Hope this reveiw helped.
Rating: Summary: The Secret of Sarah Revere Review: Student Review- Sara Revere, the daughter of the famous patriot, Paul Revere recalls the journeys her father had made for the past two years.Historical significant takes place, such as the Boston Tea Party and her fathers "famous rides." Ann Rinaldi's writing technique of this wonderful story may be confusing at times, but it all comes together in the end.The use of all the incidents that has happened in the past makes the novel very involving but very informative at the same time. It is a great way to take yourself back in the history of the Revolutionary War.
Rating: Summary: A must read Review: The Secret of Sarah Revere, is a must read. This book is for anyone who likes historical fiction with added suspense. While some of the dialog is a bit tricky to grasp, the way that the author portrays Sarah, the daughter of Paul Revere, is outstanding. Ms. Rinaldi depicts a young women coming of age brilliantly. To understand this book you do not need to be a history scholar, which is another thing I loved about this book. So pick this book up and read it , because you will never forget how good it is.
Rating: Summary: Kind of Boring Review: This book jumped around in time too much. Read it only if you are interested in the Revolutionary War. Unfortunately I am not. The story has alot to do with history and I learned more about the Revolutionary War than I cared to know. Even though often boring it is also extremely sad.
Rating: Summary: Its LAUGHY TAFFY again Review: This book reminds me of the Fifth of March, its fun to read, and not too long. I read it in literally a day. Its got a sweet story, but I read it awhile ago and I can't remember. JUST READ IT. TWO THUMBS UP
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This is a really great book. I'm glad I read it. I bought the book April 7 2002 and I finished it April 13 2002. I learned some things about the Rev. War that I didn't know. I told all my friends a little bit of the book ,I wanted them to read it too, and now every time we read, they ask to borrow my book. It is a very educational book and I hope others read it too. It taught me alot of things that have to do with learning. But it also taught me things that have to do with every day life. I thought the book was very sad at the end when ,umm, I won't say what happened because I want you to read it too. Enjoy reading it if you choose to. Which you should!
Rating: Summary: this one's my favorite Review: This is my favorite Ann Rinaldi book. I liked it so much that I've read it three times! Although the ending isn't all that great, the book really makes you think as if you were Sarah Revere. It portrays the history in a great way and captures your interest from the very beginning.
Rating: Summary: Interesting... Review: This was not my favorite Ann Rinaldi book, but there were some good things about it. It was interesting learning about how Paul Revere's family was treated, and how he did his job as a silversmith. One of the best parts was when Sarah and her brother go to help their father warn everyone that the British are coming. I wish the information on using dental records to identify people was mentioned more. Not my favorite, but you might like it...
Rating: Summary: What matters? What's true or What people think. Review: This was not the first Ann Rinaldi book I read, but it was the one that got me hooked. I saw it on the self of new arrivals at the school library, and I said "Eh, what the heck" I started reading it in Study Hall and I finished one chapter, and I read it whenever I had free time. It is a great story. The charecter of Sarah is highly complex and can relate to almost any girl. Her father, Paul Revere, is protrayed as a loving father and a patriot.Okay the story: It's 1774. The word on everybody's lips is war, though few dare to utter it. Your home town, Boston is divided between Patriot folk and Tories. You are 14 and your father is the famous Paul Revere and when he is off on his rides you must stay home and struggle keep your family together. Your house is full of secrets. And then one day your older sister tells you that your father's best friend, Dr. Warren, (who is more like an uncle to you) has feelings that are less than honorable to your stepmom. Soon you start believing it too. There is one problem, you are in love with Dr. Warren. And with everymovement you remember the words "What matters? What's true or what people think?"
Rating: Summary: Definately one of the best books I have ever read! Review: When I first picked up this book I thought, " well, this looks like a good historical fiction book." I was wrong. this book was not good....It was great! I actually read it in a day because it kept me on the edge of my seat. Other than keeping you tuned in, this book had a great moral to it, but I won't tell you because you need to read it yourself!
