Summary: The Beginning of the Thaw
Review: ...One of the things I liked best about the book was the gradual development of Chrissa's character. Her motives were conflicted, as in real life, but minor triumphs gradually blossomed into real convictions and abilities. I also enjoyed the boy-girl sub-plot. It is nice to see teens becoming friends before they get involved in a boy-girl relationship. All in all, this was a very enjoyable book to read.

Summary: The Life of Chrissa
Review: A Review by Rachel Chrissa Jennings is a thirteen year old confused teenager. Why her father left her three years ago is still a question to her. She has failed to talk to her mother because she just wouldn't understand, so she is sent to her grandmother's out in the country. Maybe this will be where Chrissa can find the answers to her questions, instead she finds out a whole lot more than she bargained for. Will she be able to find out the real truth while trying to help someone close to her? This book was definitely by far one of the best books I have ever read. The characters were so real and fun filled that it was hard for me to ever put the book down. Every page had something new and exciting in it. For example when Chrissa was walking home from school down the dirt road to her grandmother's a white Buick came at her at almost fifty miles an hour as if they were trying to kill her. When she told her grandmother she thought it was Sister Harmony's nephew she was thought to be a liar. Also this book has so many twists and turns that you never know what is actually the truth until the end. For example when Chrissa is talking to Sister Harmony's nephew she almost thought that it was her father, but since her grandmother is holding something back you never find out who and where her father is until the very end. This book is very interesting and well written and very realistic because all the events that take place could actually happen. This book was a awesome book! Its not one of the books that you have to read for a little bit and then get into it the excitement starts in the first chapter and ends in the last line of the book! Ice is on of those books that when reading it, it actually feels like you are with the characters in the book while everything is happening. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read a fun filled book, can't put down, exciting book. This book is such a fantastic book and anyone who reads it will enjoy it!

Review: Chrissa's mom wanted her to go to her Grandma's house ,then she went to church with her grandma and the preacher tried to pull a scam but Chrissa prevented that and started babysitting to past the time and she was asked to stay late one day and a Ice storm started happening all at the same time someone broke in to there home and Chrissa led the kids to safety. Well I disagree with the way she made Chrissa seem. She madeher seem like a weak fragile person. Chrissa is a really storng person,she rescued those kids didn't she? She also made Thad seem like a country boy he wasn't that country. Yes I do reccomend this book to people who like action-packed adventures. This book has a lot of action in it.Also if you like a little mystery there is that too in this book.This book doesn't desevre a Newberry Award but it is okay.

Summary: IT WAS GREAT!!
Review: I loved this book! It was interesting and original. I think it was realistic too. I even think of Chrissa and the other characters as real people. I really liked how she had flashbacks of when she was with her father, but later on in the book there were less and less of them until there were none. This is one of my favorite books ever, and I hope Phyllis Reynolds Naylor writes a sequal to it!

Review: I really like the book ICE because Crissa, a teenage girl, is very smart and has certain feelings unlike any teen would have. I like this book because Crissa shows and goes through everyday problems just like any teen, and it helps me understand that I am not the only preteen who goes through problems like these. This is the best book I have ever read and recommend it for everyone to read.

Review: I thought that Ice was a very good book. If you like suspense, mystery, and/or action books this is for you. I started Ice and had it done in 3 days. Once you start reading it, it is hard to put down. I recomend this book to people from ages 11-14.

Review: In this book Chrissa is longing for her father. She spent most of her early childhood trying to please him, for he was perfect in her eyes. Hansome, adventerous, always surrounded my mystery. When her parents divorce, and he disapears, Chrissa cuts her self of from the world, but especially her mother. Finding no other alternitive Chrissa's mother sends her of to her grandmothers house. Chrissa blosoms in her new surroundings, sheading the lair of ice that had encased her. She has several adventures,and learns that she CAN handle them. But can she find the truth about her father? This is an exellent book, which trully gives you something to think about!
