Rating: Summary: I LOVED IT! Review: It was a very moving book. Daja and Frostpine are in the Norman Empire and Daja is longing for her foster-siblings. Daja discovers that the twins of their host, Jory and Nia, have magic. During this time, a person is spreding fires and is gettng bolder in every fire he sets. If you love books by Tamora Pierc you won't be dissapointed. It has everything that makes it a Tamora Pierce book.
Rating: Summary: Cold Fire - Hot Book Review: It was okay, but I don't think we really got enough with her (Daja's) students. I mean, I thought that the whole point of this series was to introduce new characters, new students. And I think that there was too much about the fires and not enough about Daja. And Frostpine, I thought that this would be a good chance to really develope him, a process which was started in Daja's Book and never really completed. I really did like the parts where she was with other mages. The interaction between Daja, Sandry, Briar and Tris and older people has always fascinated me. This book seemed to be as dark as Shatterglass, but this doesn't have Kethlun, so it's not as good. But I still love T.P.'s writing.

Rating: Summary: Cold Fire Review: Set in the Northern Namornese Islands near the cold Syth, Daja and Frostpine have stopped to live with a large host family. While there Daja discovers ambient magic in the family's twins, Nia and Jory, and offers to teach them, while the twins in return teach her to skate. Daja is introduced to Ben Ladradun, a local firefighter, who risks his life to save locals in recent fires. With Daja and Frostpine's help, they discover that the recent fires were set purposely. With the weight of teaching and her own projects she sets out to discover and stop the fire-bug before the entire city is burned to the ground. An excellent piece of literature written by Tamora Pierce, my favourite author! Can hardly wait for Tris' book!!
Rating: Summary: Chilling Crime Mystery Review: Tamora Pierce fans that are more inclined to reading mystery novels will flock to read her quartet of the "Circle Opens" novels. In the books she explores the adventures of Tris, Sandry, Briar, and Daja as they take on their first students."Cold Fire" is a masterpiece of Pierce's, setting itself leagues apart from her other books involving the mage quartet due to its intense descriptions of the mental states of people during a string of deliberately set fires. She vividly describes the thoughts of madmen and detectives alike and culminates the novel into an intense climax that leaves the reader on the edge of his or her seat. An excellent read, one that is sure to leave you "chilled" but clamoring for more.
Rating: Summary: Cold Fire - Hot Book Review: Tamora Pierce works wonders on her books! This is a book of friendship and betrayal, with a heartstopping climax. This book is great!!!
Rating: Summary: One of Pierce's Best books!!! Review: The story takes place in a series of Normanese islands where most houses are wooden. Recently some unexplained fires have occured and Bennat Ladradun, a widower fire fighter, is the islands only protection. Meanwhile Daja discovers that the Bancanors', her hosts', twins are ambient mages. Jury has cooking magic, and Nia has carpentry magic. Daja sets them up with teachers, for everything except meditation. After seeing the sometimes-futile attempts of the firefighters, Daja tries to help them fires by using her magic, and in the process befriends Ben. When the conclusion that the fires have been set is made, Daja has to to suspect someone who had done so much for the Kusigu Islands, Ben. This book simply blows away books 1 and 2 of the Circle Opens. I think it's partially because there are two young mages instead of one. However, it would have been better if Daja had taught them more than meditation. Overall, though, it is an excellent book, and one of Pierce's best.
Rating: Summary: Cold Fire today, Hot tomorrow! Review: This book is an excellent piece of work. Tamora Pierce's writing style is one of the best I have ever read. Her characters are full of spirit and spunk and they never cease to amaze you. This is defintley one book that will be in my collection.
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: This book is wonderful! The new characters like Bennat Ladradun, Jory and Nia are great. You really get to know them. There are parts that completely surprised me and twisted the story around. The setting is nice too, it is kind of like Scandinavia. I think that Daja was a great character to have in the book. She is so calm and it is perfect for the story. A great book from Tamora Pirece, as always.
Rating: Summary: `````````````````THE BEST BOOK EVER```````````````````` Review: This is the best book of the series. This book has many twists like there being two students.
