Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: FANTASTIC FUN FOR GIRLS OF ALL AGES!! Review:
If this book were chocolate, I would have gained a thousand calories reading it because it was THAT delicious. Funny, wise, hopeful and totally dead-on when it comes to the emotions and language of teen girls. It's about a girl who writes this funny journal story that ends up getting published. Suddenly she has an agent, editor and fans. She gets to do all the things writers dream about -- personal appearances, Hollywood fanfare
and mega-booksignings. But underneath it all, her personal life is going out of control...
Aside from being a fun read, it shows confidence being a tool against bullies and gives a positive message to girls struggling with insecurities. The ending makes you want to cheer.

Review: Far fetched, definitely, and somewhat predictable at time, yet undeniable addicting and fun! Recommended for fans of Meg Cabot and all teen girls looking for a fun, somewhat silly, book. Guaranteed you won't be able to put it down. I definitely couldn't! Jamie is a great role model - even though she thinks she is nothing like IS.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Got an extra hour for this book? Review: I finished How My Private, Personal Journal Became A Bestseller a few hours ago. It's about a girl, Jamie, who writes an English essay and a journal entry, and e-mails the wrong one (the journal) to her friend, Harmony, to print out so she can turn it in the next day. Her journal was a story about a girl named Isabelle who turned into a superhero, IS, to defend the girls of the world from Myrna and her Clique of Populors (throughout the book, there are snippets of her journal entry, and all the members of the Clique have their names- The Gossipor, the Insultor- spelled with O's instead of E's). IS destroys members or the Clique by "Flicking"- balling her hand into a fist, then flicking out her fingers. It was inspired by Jamie's own problems with the popular clique at her school, ruled by Sawyer Sullivan. In fact, here comes my favorite quote: "I've heard rumors that in some schools, the Popular Clique actually is made up of nice, friendly girls. Lucky them. It definetly wasn't that way at Whittaker. Our popular group were witches with a capital B." So she turns in her journal instead, not noticing, and her English teacher decides to read it out loud to the class and then send it to a literary agent she knows, Leslie. Soon, it's published and number one on the bestseller list. Jamie has a media coach in NYC for her interviews on tv and radio, book signings, and....why, look, Marco Vega, on whom she's been crushing for a year and who happens to be the hottest and most popular guy in school, knows who she is...and has broken up with Sawyer Sullivan... Jamie's still got problems though- Sawyer is, if anything, being even meaner to her (where's IS when you need her?), her friend Harmony seems to have a new best friend down in New York City, and she's super-stressed considering she still has homework, along with fan mail and is being pushed to write a sequel to IS.
There were a few cons: the ending, as far as the love interest goes, was extremely obvious...but still cute. It could have been written better, moved a little too quickly and wasn't entirely realisitc, particularly the dialogue (I mean aside from the getting published bit, which is certainly not realistic), at the beginning. By the end, though, it had won me over. No, this isn't the best book ever, but it's certainly funny and not the worst way you could spend an hour of your time. So, there ya go: I recommend you all read this!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A must read Review: I got this book from the book store because I have read Julia Devillers Limited Too book series. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. Although I loved it. It isn't about like a private diary type of journal that gets published, it is about a story that she wrote. I hope Julia Devillers writes a sequel, or at least some more books. I thought that I might be too old for this book, and that I should be reading more substantial books. Although this book was really inspiring, and so much fun. Even if you think that you won't like this book I really recommend it for all ages. Elementary or middle school. You can relate to it, and it makes you wish there really was a book call IS. FLICK!!!!!!!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: goodgoodgood Review: This book is way better than a bunch of other books I've read that were along the same guidelines (young girl finds fame). This book rocked. It was funny and believeable and had a very good ending: one that solved all the problems ("tied it up into a neat little package", you might say) but wasn't sickly sweet. It is poingant and clever and I would reccomend this book to most girls.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Almost as good as STICK FIGURE: A DIARY OF MY FORMER SELF Review: This book reminds me of Lori Gottlieb's STICK FIGURE: A DIARY OF MY FORMER SELF, which also rocked! It's very true about the way girls are, the way school is, and how we think and feel (and what we're insecure about). I like STICK FIGURE better because it's smarter and much funnier and also sad (about anorexia), but doesn't feel "fake" (like a lot of the dialogue does here) because STICK FIGURE is the girl's actual diaries and not just a story.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Inspiring and truthful Review: This book was just so... amazing. Pretty much every girl has gone through some kind of torment during their life. Whether it be traumatic lunchroom experiances or abuse frome fellow scollmates, we've all been there. "H.M.P.P.J.B.A.B" was sooo funny in the way that I could relate to what she was going through. I mean come on, who HASN'T hed a lunchroom breakdown before? I've had many thankyouverymuch. Whether you're the bully or the bullied does'nt matter. This book will rech into your heart and force you to realize that you CAN do something. It will inspire you to make a change, to stick up for others, to be a better person. If not, it will at least make you think.
Really the only thing I noticed that was sorta bad was that I knew who her love interest would be as soon as he was introduced. It was sooo obvious. I kept waiting for something to happen, and waiting, and then waiting some more. And then, "Finally! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!"
All and all, this was agreat book. It had a good message and a story line any girl can relate to. Honestly, what ARE you waiting for? GO OUT AND BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!
