Rating: Summary: Poorly written. Review: I grew up reading teen romance dimestore novels that, although low on substance, were written in charming prose, with engaging characters, kept me entertained and only set me back about $2. I ran across this hardback for $1, and decided to give it a read. What a waste of a buck. I've discovered numerous typos, creative sentence structure, and an annoying hick's-view-of-the-world perspective that was offensive to anyone who lives in rural areas. I feel sorry for those who spent $15 on this -- it wasn't worth the $1 I paid. Skip it.

Rating: Summary: Not the best brit product Review: im sorry, but does sappy come to mind when reading this book? it comes to my mind, quite alot actually. This should have been a autobiography, except for the drama thing with Wanda's embarassing scar. Ok, so her mom has a burn mark, big deal. its apparently the world to Holly in this book. It does portray staying with your dreams even though you feel left out with everyone else around you. But i couldnt see Holly actually being a real person. not at all, and i dont think you will either. its like being thrown into a perfect made world, Brit, i mean Holly as the star.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book! Review: This book is wonderful. It is not well written, but it is heartfelt. Holly, a fifteen year old with a talent for singing and Wanda, her sweet mother with an ugly, mysterious birthmark, are as close as close can be. They might be short on money, but have never been short on love. But when Holly gets into one of the best schools of the arts in the country, Haverty School, Wanda can't help but wonder whether Holly is going to want to spend time with her in the small town of Biscay anymore. And she might be right. Holly starts to act like she doesn't look up to and appreciate her mother anymore. At school, while making a new friend, Lydia, nicknamed "Ditz", she starts seeing the world in a new way. A bigger way. Sounds predictable, right? Wrong. The end gives Holly the courage to show Wanda what she means to her. This is a basic story, but with wonderful characters and a creative ending. This is worth reading for girls aged 8-12.
Rating: Summary: a girl andd her dreams Review: Reading this book was sad at sometimes and and funny at others. I have read other books by brittny and lynn and thyw were all great! I cant wait to read another one. In the book Holly lives in a small town called biscay with her mom. Her boyfriend Tyler works with his dad at a car shop. One day He told her that she had and awesome voice and that she should tryout for a spot in Harvatry a school for talented musicains, so she did. This noval of Brittny's lie is a fast pace book and never gets boring. Before you know it it will be over.
Rating: Summary: Terrfic Story! Review: I really am a big fan of Britney Spears, so I decided to read "A Mother's Gift". It's an amazing story, and I think Britney and Lynne did a great job of writing it. Holly is a teenge girl living in the small town of Biscay, Mississippi. Everyone there knows she has an amazing talent, which is singing. Holly longs to go to the Haverty School of Music and Performing Arts, but she is convinced she'll never make it. One day, her boyfriend secretly sends a tape of Holly singing to Haverty. Several weeks later, Holly got a letter asking for her to audition there. She was very excited! After her audition, Holly got another letter accepting her to the school! Being accepted has its ups and downs, but the biggest down was that Holly would have to leave her mother Wanda, who Holly loved dearly and was very close with. At first she feels out of place at Haverty, because most of the students there are rich and had the latest clothes and items. She makes friends with her roomate, but finds it hard to make friends with others. And Wanda misses her daughter so much, she has a secret she wants to reaveal- but it could destroy the bond between her and Holly forever. The ending was surprising- if you want to know what it is, read the book! Overall, I think Britney and her mother have wrote a fantastic book. I look forward to the other books they will write together!
Rating: Summary: Britney & Lynne can Really Write! Review: At first I really wasn't so sure about this book, but then I was itching to find out if the pop queen and her mother could write, so I decided to give it a try. I loved it- I finished it in one day. It's a very inspiring story about a girl who has big dreams and they come true. I enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the next book Britney and Lynne write together. I also liked Britney's autobiography "Heart to Heart" which she also wrote with her mom.
Rating: Summary: This was an AWESOME book! Review: I thought the book A Mother's Gift was the most inspiring story I've ever read. I too plan on someday being famous, and want to be a big star. Britney and Lynne did an awesome job at writing their first book, and I hope to see more of their books published in the future. Britney, and her momma, inspire me so much, and I hope to see them soon! Keep up the good work gurls!
