Rating: Summary: Oh, beware, Mistress Anne... Review: "Wait and see - someday I shall be queen of England, and you will kneel at my feet!" declares thirteen-year-old Anne Boleyn haughtily and angrily to her show-off of an older sister, Mary. A mole on her neck, a sixth finger, dark-haired, thin-framed, and pale - how could such an "ill-favored child" amount to anything, her parents wonder. Don't underestimate her, Boleyn family. She inherited her ambitious nature from you, and she'll do anything to prove herself. She'll win the heart of hot-blooded Henry VIII one way or another. Oh, beware, Mistress Anne. You don't know what you're getting yourself into. Henry cast aside one wife for failing to get him a legitimate male heir. What makes you so sure you won't fail, as well? Keep prodding and tantalizing, and you will get yourself in deep trouble... I highly recommend this one. The Tudor family has always fascinated me, especially Anne Boleyn and her daughter Elizabeth, and I love a good historical fiction romance! You'll love it, too!
Rating: Summary: Doomed Queen Anne Review: As well with her other books about historical memories of princess' with an "ill-favored" fate, Carolyn Meyer does a beautiful job in handling the delicate art of capturing rustic & authentic Elizabethan feel. Accurate and compelling, you sympathize with the character and curse the fault not seen by others. "She would see that I was no longer the ill-favored child she'd once taunted." Anne is a young girl of a noble title, whom her father worked so h ard to obtain, and finds out that her sister is a mistress-lover to the King Henry. Anne is envious that so many do not like her, for her suspicious neck wart and extra finger, and she sets out to woo the King into her favor, but not for lusty appreciation; but to become queen! This book is exciting and I reccomend it for anyone who loves a good suspenseful and historical book.
Rating: Summary: Doomed Queen Anne Is a Gorgeous Work of Art! Review: Being the "black sheep" of your family isn't easy, always in the shadow of your blonde, blue-eyed sister--but Anne Boleyn endured.Dark haired, pale and unrosy cheeks, that is what Anne was. Back then, they called it hideous. Many changes in her life occur--changes in her last name, Bullen to a more fashionably sounding Boleyn; her sister, Mary still believing her an ill-favored child, though Anne was thirteen. Her parents laughed at her whne she said not only would she capture the legendary King Henry VIII's heart, but become his Queen too! Anne's pain is almost brought upon my shoulders, the pain of her last hours. The description is so dramatic, intense and so riveting that you almost seem to be drawn into Anne herself, being her. Its adjectives are amazing, not of which the likes I could ever had heard of before. Told through the wise word weaving of Ms. Carolyn Meyer, this story has come to life with color, and intrigue, not to mention a sight of the English court in the 1500's. "...someday you will kneel at my feet!" ---Anne Boleyn There are lines like these that make books unforgettable. Also, it helps you say with a grin, "I know Carolyn Meyer wrote that because she's so good at making the best one-liners!" When you read books like these, the feasts, the luxuries, the intrigues described just come to life and color!
Rating: Summary: Anne Boleyn is a True Friend! Review: Dear Reader, please note that this book shall have you attached to witty, teenaged Anne! Born of a semi-noble family, Anne Boleyn was vulnerable to the taunts of her sister, Mary. The black sheep of the family, Anne was always considered unmarriable and such, like a witch. Anne was extremely transformed into her graceful French style--need I say that I wish to have her grace?--once she lived with Archduchess Margaret of the Spanish Netherlands. She learned how to charm, and please a man through the bander of the other ladies of Archduchess Margaret's court. Though you would have had excellent knowledge about the Tudors (as I have), this book is one you may understnad completely with a few dictionaries and encyclopedias. My suggestion to you, is that reading the first book is best, for, after reading Mary Bloody Mary, I was extremely "Tudorfied," and was a fanatic, hence I researched about everything about them. I was then ready to read the other two books. This book is my favorite though, and it shall always be...
Rating: Summary: Doomed Queen Anne Review: How would you like to be married to King Henry VIII? Well that's what happened to Anne Boleyn in, Doomed Queen Anne. This historical fiction story is full of romance, pain, deceit, loyalty, and honor. Anne Boleyn was a regular girl in the 15th century world, until.... one night as Anne and her sister Mary were in their chamber, Mary grabbed Anne and took her down the hall to their mother's chambers, they sat by the door listening. "Dark as a gypsy, she is." Anne could not believe what she was hearing! " Send her to a nunnery." her mother said. Mary started laughing at her sister, but then, they heard something. "She will not go to a nunnery, Anne will go to court, in FRANCE!!" Anne and Mary were both shocked. Anne was going to live at court, and in FRANCE!!! It has always been a dream of hers. After arriving in Paris, it was time to prepare for, la Fête de Noël,( The Feast of Christmas). After a year or two Anne finds out that her sister is the Kings mistress!!!! Anne has become quite fond of King Henry. The King has been paying a lot of attention to Anne lately. They marry and that's when Anne's troubles begin. In those days, producing a son and heir to the thrown was very important. Anne did produce the King with children, but two died and the other, A GIRL, named Elizabeth. Not good in 15th century France, and that's just the beginning. Anne is accused of being untruthful to the King. The punishment is death? Will the King stand at her side or have executed? Find out by reading Doomed Queen Anne. Reading a book can be boring sometimes, but a book like this gets you hooked in and you never want to put it down. I liked this book because it was full of mystery, passion, and betrayal. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes historical fiction stories.

Rating: Summary: I loved every page of this book! Review: I loved this book, from beginning to end. It was so cool to see all these events in history from Queen Anne's own viewpoint. I learned a lot about her and about her interesting life. I have read all the other books in the Young Royals Series and Carolyn Meyer is now my favorite author. I would recommend the whole series to everyone, but this book was my favorite in this series. It was so well-written. I just couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. I also didn't want the book to end. I'd give this book more than 5 five stars!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Book for a Horrible Woman Review: I must say, I thought little of Queen Anne but this book made me realize that kindness is everything! Only in the end did I pity her but she knew before her death that she was hated and not many people forgive and forget. Well, read my review and try the book for yourself and find out what you think about her! Anne grows up as "bad child" she is called this for her black hair, extra finger, mole on her neck, and her quick wit. So, she is sent off to France away from her beautiful sister, father, and mother. In France she makes many friends and learns how to behave, for a bit. Anne also learns how to catch the men's attention. After a few years in France she serves in the English court and tries desperately to get the King's attention. Only her sister has his at the moment for she is his mistress. But, Anne wants more! She wants the throne and to be the mother of his sons! After a while the King does pay attention but Anne knows what she wants and plays the game. In the end she has his heart but the people turn against her and she goes to her death! It is a sad story but I am also disgraced by the people's behavior! I would say that 14 and up but if you are a mature child then maybe this book would be good for you. I quite liked this book and the two others! Carolyn Meyer is obviously a skilled writer and I enjoy her books very much. I hope you will too.
Rating: Summary: Tutor England Review: If your teacher has asked you to wright a report on Queen Elizabeth or her mother (Anne Boleyn) or her sister (Bloody Mary) Then the young royals series is a good place to start. This book and the first in this series, Mary Bloody Mary, covers the first reformation of England. (When england broke away from the roman-catholic church and the pope) The diffrence between the two books is that the first one covers this time from the view of Mary, a devote catholic, and the second one covers this from the view of Anne, the whole reson this is taking place.
Rating: Summary: Very interesting, but Beware Princess Elizabeth was better Review: The third intstallment in the Young Royals series takes us into the life of not a young princess of Henry VIII's court but instead, into the life of the mother of Elizabeth-Anne Boleyn.Born without great wealth and a known name-Anne is the outcast of her family, and insult. She was born with a sixth finger and a large mole on her neck. However, her sister Mary is the mistress to Henry VIII and her brother George will someday be something great-for he is a healthy and smart boy.Over the years, Anne is sent to live in France-but quickly moves to the Netherlands to be a lady-in-waiting to Queen Margaret. Not soon after, Anne is summoned back to France for the Field of Cloth and Gold-where King Henry VIII and the king of France will sign a peace proclamation. After meeting up with her sister, Mary-Anne returns soon after to England and becomes a member of Henry VIII's court.Over the years, she has many lovers, butone in particular causes her banishment from court and they are told never to see each other again. She lives back at her parent's house for the next year or so,when her parents recieve titles.Anne is allowed to come back to court for the celebration. It is here that Henry VIII catches Anne's eye and the two begin a secret romance. Henry sends Anne love letters and gifts-he visits her at night and sings songs to her. Anne is very happy. But the court is not.Catherien of Aragon is Henry's wife and she should be getting all of this attention-which is what all of the court believes. But Anne doesn't care and after a few years of him begging her to be his mistress-and she says no-he asks her to marry him! However, he already has a wife-Catherien of Aragon. So, he sends many men to the Pope and after many tries to get a divorce-the Pope refuses. So Henry sets up his own church and Catherien is banished to a convent.Anne is now queen-after a secret ceremony. Anne is soon after coronated and is pregnant. It's supposed to be a son but Anne loses the child. Anne becomes pregnant again and it is unfortunately a girl-Elizabeth I. Henry is upset with Anne but she is pregnant again and loses this child also-and it was a boy she lost, was what the phyisicians proved. Henry lose his love for Anne over this time and is already giving gifts and singing songs for his later wife-Jane Seymour. To marry Jane-he arrests Anne and her brother, George, and a few others. They are to be tried for adultery and treason. Although not one of them committed these crimes-they are all found guilty and are to be executed. I thought this book was great, well-written and very accurate and descriptive but I thought Beware, Princess Elizabeth was better. This book covered all of Anne's life and is shorter than Elizabeth-which only covered about ten years of Elizabeth's life. Although I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes royalty or historical ficiton-I'd say read Beware Princess Elizabeth first.I'm not saying this was a bad books-I'm just saying it isn't the best book in the series as far as suspense, plots, and the storyline goes.Congratulations to Carolyn Meyer on such a great book!
