Summary: New Plot Theme Opens in Redwall Series-YES!
Review: I've loved the Redwall books ever since first grade when I read Redwall for the first time. I've read it 16 times since, but that's not the point. When Taggerung came out, I was delighted, even more so when I actually read it. Much as I love the Redwall series, the later books' plots do get rather repetitive. I don't hold that against Mr. Jacques. The books are still good. But Taggerung was a completely new plot, standing apart from the others, but just as good; better than some. The plot twists and turns, with things happening that I didn't think would ever occur. I was frequently surprised by the outcome of a section, and the characters were all perfect, developed so they'd fit their station perfectly. The repetitive theme of "Martins sword and/or tapestry is lost, a young creature, male or female, goes out to find it, and invariably succeeds, killing the villain in the process" was gone, though some fragments remained, which was terrific. I happen to like that redundant theme. Anyway, if you like fantasy, you should definately read this book-oh, except you should read the other 13 books in chronological order first. That will make Taggerung better. Happy reading!

Summary: An amazing new edition to the Spectacular Redwall Series
Review: For many seasons rumors have gone around that one day a powerful warrior beast called the Tagggerung will join the Juska rat clan and be the most powerful of them all. THe rumors about this beast are almost unbelievable but Sawney Rath wants nothing more than to find him, so when he dose the whole clan is shocked to learn that the Taggerung is no vermin, but an otter! Little Tagg grows up amoung the vermin living a tragic life, never knowing who he really is. But one day he realizes that something is wrong with his life, very wrong.
Meanwhile at Redwall, the Abby has been without an Abbess and Warroir for more seasons than they can count. The only member of the Abby from the old times that hasn't died from old age is Lady Cregga Rose eyes, the badgermum. But soon a series of riddles shows up around the Abby. Riddles that can tell who the Abbess really is.
When I saw this book I was a bit surprised. It was longer than any Redwall book I've seen in a while, but apparently the longer books are the better they are. I haven't Read a Redwalll book this good since Marlfox. Tagg's story is very entertaining and their are countless refrences to a Classic Redwall book that fans of the series will recognize. The new charecters are well drawn (my favorite being little Nimbalo) and for once, Brian Jacques introduces a serious issue in the series, one that readers may relate too. I reccomend this book strongly to fans of the series. You won't be dissapointed!

Summary: An excellent book
Review: In Taggerung the other Deeyna is stolen by a gan of vermin beliving he is the next Taggerung. The leader of the vermin clan who will lead to vermin to victory in battle.This book does not have a lot of figting in it. But it has great songs poemm and riddles. The charactes are kind and loveable. Denya reminds me when I used to be strong and fearless and had many fears. The vilians in this book are the vile Swiny. This book is full of twist and turns. The part when Deeny fights the giant eel and stop the shrew sacrifice had my heart pounding. If you like this boo red the 15 books 15 Triss and 16 Lomhedge are continuation of Triss. Lomhedge is the most reacent book in chronilogical order.

Review: This book is really good, because it has a great adventure, fun riddle, and the whole book is wonderful! This book is one of the newest Redwall books, and also is one of the best books. If you are a Redwall fan, you should get this book. The story's main character is an otter named Deyna, and is 'renamed' Tagg after been taken by the vermin as a Taggerung. A Taggerung is a creature that will be a clan's chief. The first part of the story is about Sawney Rath and his clan called the Juska. After his seer, Grissoul, explains to Sawney Rath that he would find the Taggerung near the Redwall Abbey. However, all is not well in the clan. Some of the vermin in his clan want revenge on Sawney Rath. One of the vermin is Antigra, a female stoat who demands that her baby stoat Zann should be the Taggerung. After her husband is killed by Sawney Rath, and is forced to name her son Gruven, she wants desperately to kill her chief.
Meanwhile in Redwall Abbey, a new otter babe is born and is named Deyna. His otter brings him out to the river to teach him how to swim but while he is teaching his new son, he is killed by one of Sawney Rath's vermin, and Sawney gets the baby. Deyna is renamed Tagg and is given the best food in the clan. In the Redwall Abbey, Deyna's mother, Filorn, and Deyna's sister, Mhera, are sad because Deyna and his father had still not come.
Seven years later, Deyna/Tagg becomes a fierce, dangerous, but kind-hearted otter, but runs away when he tries saving one of Sawney's vermin. Antigra, still wanting revenge on Sawney, kills him, then blames Tagg. Gruven and other vermin chase Tagg. Tagg makes friends with Nimbalo, a mouse, and they have adventures as they head for the Redwall Abbey.
I can't tell you anymore because it would be spoiling the story! The only way to find out what happens is to read it! Buy this book and you'll love it!!

Review: Taggerung is a book from the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. It is about an otter who gets kidnapped from Redwall abbey by the vermin army of Sawney Rath. The Sawney takes young Tagg and raises him as a son. Tagg is believed to be the chosen warrior of the Juskarath clan, and is raised to kill. However, as Tagg grows up, he realizes he does not like killing, and does not belong with a clan of wicked vermin, and deserts the tribe in search of his real family. On his way, he meets a trustworthy friend mouse, Nimbalo the Slayer. These friends face shrews, giant eels, rats, stoats, and snakes in there attempt to find family and friends.
Redwall is my favorite series, and this book is one of the best in the series. I like this book for the action and adventure, and recommend it to anyone who injoys such stories. This book constantly has you on the edge of your seat, and is very difficult to put down. Once you read this, you will be hooked, and will probably have to read the rest of the series. The Redwall series does not really go in order, but you should read the original Redwall first.

Review: Taggerung, by Brian Jacques, is possibly the best Redwall book so far. It is full of adventure and excitement.
This story is about Deyna, an otter kidnapped by the Juskarath, a warrior clan led by Sawney Rath. Sawney's seer says that the new Taggerung (clan leader) is at Redwall Abbey. The Juskarath kidnap Deyna and raise him as their Taggerung.
Later in his life, Deyna (called Tagg, short for Taggerung) decides that he is not bloodthirsty enough to be one of the Juskarath. He runs away, beginning a series of adventures for Deyna and those who follow him.

Summary: And the climax??
Review: Taggerung had great potential...Tagg was raised to be a killer, and a battle between the Juska and the Redwall occupants seemed enevitable (with Tagg eventually killing one of the various main bad guys in a long, hard battle), but instead of a battle in which the Juska would come close to taking over Redwall but ultimatly fail, they are chased away with no bloodshed whatsoever. I agree with many of the 2 and 3 star reviews when I say this book was very anticlamatic. Jacques really draws out Tagg's journey to Redwall and his stay at the otter healer, but nothing really happens during both of those periods. Jacques should of instead made a big climax and skipped much of the journey and mostly all of the stay at Rukky Garge's place. However, Jacques gave Tagg and Nimbalo very well-written personalities, and the plot was fresh and original (the concept was new, the journeying idea really isn't). Bottom line is that Taggerung could have been one of the best books in the series, but instead, Taggerung is one of the worst. For a better read, read Martin the Warrior or Triss or Mariel of Redwall if you have not already. This is still a good book, but Jacques has written better.

Deyna is only three years old when his dad took him from the safty of Redwall Abby to the ford to touch his back to the water for the first time, and otter ritual. At the ford, his dad gets ambushed by a vermin pack and shot in the heart by an arrow. Deyna is taken to grow up as a vermin.
The vermin leader, Sawney Rath, has visions of the young otter babe having the mark of a Taggerung, the most cunning and quickest creatures in the land. Deyna grows without knowing something is wrong, terribly wrong.
Luckily, Deyna knows something is wrong when he is full-grown. Deyna leaves the pack to look for his real parents. The only problem is, Sawney has found his new enemy. Deyna for the first time feels lonely, but determined to fine his lost parents.
I really liked Taggerung. It teaches that you will always remember your family, whatever happens. Also, it teaches that when you think you are lost, never give up. I would recommend this book to anybody age seven and up, who loves friendship, adventure, and war.

Summary: Taggerung, worthy of reading, or not?
Review: Brian Jacques, the author of the famous Redwall series has made numerous outstanding novels, but I would name this one the best of them all. His ability to make you want to keep reading more and more, even though you are dead tired in the night makes the book even better. He mixes two genres through this book. Love, and action. The two combine an ultimate reading experience. You encounter romantic, love scenes throughout this book, yet right after, a huge battle is fought! The novel, Taggerung by Brian Jacques is one of my favorites by him, and I recommend it to anyone that happens to come across it.

Review: This fourth installment of Brian Jacques' Redwall series is very good. From the beggining all the way to the end is non-stop adventure. You never know what will happen next and once you do find out, the story takes another turn. This is what makes this book great. So if you haven't read Taggerung yet, what are you waiting for? Go out and get this great book!
