Rating: Summary: Good book for a 5th grader. Exciting, funny and sad. Review: I think the book is entertaining. It is full of action and is pretty exciting. It is funny, and sad which makes you feel like you're inside the book with all the characters, and feeling the same as they are. I think it's really a nice book to read or if little have it read to you. I would really recommend this book. I've read at least five of this series and this is one of the best. It's not really important to read the books in order.
Rating: Summary: GOOD, BUT NOT MY FAVORITE (...) Review: the long patrol is ok. i enjoyed Damug Warfang, but his death was a let down. the badger lord in this book was a bit weird if you ask me. i did though, enjoy the food and the relationship with Tammo and Pasque. if you want to try this book, then be my guest. it was my first Redwall, it was good enough for me to read the others.
Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol - A Review Review: This book was exciting because it had a lot of action. It's about a Hare named Tammo who wants to join the Long Patrol who protect the inhabitants of Mossflower from the evil GreatRat, Damung Warfang and his army of Rapscallions. I liked this book because the battles were intense and I never knew what was going to happen next or who was going to die. My favorite character was Shad the Gatekeeper, an otter who was funny at times but also extremely brave when called upon to do battle. I would recommend the Redwall series to people of all ages.
Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol Reviews Review: I liked the book because it was exciting and full of action. I think that if people read the books by Brian Jacqures they will enyoy the books as much as I did. The books are long but it is worth it. I also liked the book because some of the characters were funny. I think that the Long Patrol is a good book.
Rating: Summary: More feasts and friends! Review: If you have read any of Brian Jacques' great series, you'll love this one! A warlord named Damug Warfang and his Rapscallion army are invading Redwall. Only the Long Patrol of Lady Cregga Rose Eyes of Salamandastron stands ready to fight the Greatrat and his monstrous hordes. A young hare named Tammo, assisted by his friend Russa Nodrey, runs of to join the long patrol. Again, we get a large cast of unforgettable characters and some of the funniest scenes of all the books. There are more descriptions of delicious food and also the inside story of the Long Patrol's fight against a notorious villain. If you love the battles and good times of the other books, the Long Patrol is right up your ally!
Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol Review: My grandson who is in the fifth grade was assigned this book to read. Although a straight A student, he found it most difficult to read. I have two masters degrees and found this book to be one of the most difficult for children to read. A book like this can certainly cause students not to want to read at all. The dilect was most diffficult to follow. While the story of animals is appealing to children, the dialect is much too hard and simple names would make the story just as interesting. I realize that I am in the minority with the other reviewers but this is my honest opinion.
Rating: Summary: Jolly good book... Review: This was quite an enjoyable book. I particularly liked it beacue it dealt a lot with hares, and they have the coolest speech patterns. I also liked this book because, though it involves animals, there was a type of "romance" in it, which was rather underplayed in his other books. 2 young hares have a bit of affection for eachother, and Jacques actually builds that up a bit, instead of the few other books of his ive read that have a male and female couple who are supposed to "be in love" where they just say hi and then get married and what not. But anyways, the book was pretty cool, though i didnt really like the female badger lord, cause she was too overbearing and not really what badger lords are normally like. The skirmishes and major battles were extremely cool, though short. I was a bit disappointed with how this book ended, though... Tammo didn't go back to his parents, it seemed Jacques ignored the fact that Tamm's mom had told the whole story about his father running off and never being reconciled with his father. Since he put that part in there Tammo should've had something happen with him and his father. But other than that it was a quality Redwall book.
Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol Review: The long patrol tells of a story about a young rabbit that is determined to join the long patrol so his mother helps him by having a squirrel go with him to help prove himself that he can join the Long Patrol.Tammo is his name and he will meet new characters along his journey with only a sharp knife that is called a dirk.He will work alongside the long patrol to show he is ready to join.
Rating: Summary: Superb! Completley addictive! Review: I liked this book because it had a lot of action in it. It was extremly exciting because the chapters moved around and I don't find that in a lot of books. In one chapter Brain Jacques focused on Redwall then the next he focused on the hares of the Long Patrol and so on. Though I don't like books where the author kills one or two of the main characters this was an exception. If you like Outcast of Redwall or Pearls of Lutra you'll love this book.
