Rating: Summary: Raaaaaaaaaaaah! Review: A young hair named Tammo has dreamed of joining The Long Patrol ever since he was young. His father has not let him pursue his dream; for fear that he is not ready yet. That all changes whenever Nora the wanderer visits their camp-house. Tammo's mom and him get his stuff ready and send him with Nora so he can join The Long Patrol at Salamandastron. When they meet up with the Long Patrollers Tammo learns what it is like to survive in the wilderness. On the other hand the evil lord Damug and his rapscallion army are going through the wilderness killing all creatures that get in his way. It's up to Tammo and the long patrollers to protect the Redwall abbey from the evil Damug they must protect it without killing themselves. If I were to rate this book a three. This book has a lot of action and suspense, but the plot wasn't up to the standards of my taste. I didn't think it was his best, but it was a still a good read and I suggest that people should read it.

Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Tamello De Fformello Tussock (Tammo for short) dreams of joining the famous Long Patrol, a group of hares who protect the land and their mountain, Salamandastron.Unfortunately, he continues to get into trouble and his father completely forbids Tammo in letting him join the Long Patrol. Tammo, with the help of his mother, runs away to Salamandastron to become one of the Long Patrol with a squirrel traveler whose name is Russa Nodrey. Soon, they get ambushed by a group of Rapscallions, an evil bunch of rats and Russa and Tammo are captured. They are rescued by 11 Long Patrol hares.Together, they pursue the Rapscallions to Redwall. Meanwhile, another stronger and bigger group of Rapscallions are attaking Redwall. Their leader is Damug. The 11 Long Patrol hares are hopelessly outnumbered and the peaceful Redwall creatures does not have much warrior animals. Will they get any help from the ruler or Salamandastron who is Lady Cregga Rose Eyes and her hares? Will Redwall be captured by Rapscallions? This book was great! I loved it from the start, though I think one part wasn't necessary. If you like this, you'll love "Lord Brocktree"!!

Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol Review: I chose this book because I thought it would be a good book because I have read other books about this Redwall series. The first book I read was the Pearls of Lutra. I thought it was great so I decided to read this book. It was kind of boring at the beginning. Later, it started being fun. The main character in this story is a young hare whose name is Tamello De Fformelo Tussock otherwise known as Tammo. He is brave, loyal, and shows compassion for anybeast that helps them or is helpless. He sometimes made some dumb mistakes. He is young and bright, and makes many friends and enemies. He also is a good sport, not like some people in this story. The book was hard to stop reading once I got into it. Even though it is 358 pages long it took me only about 2-3 days to finish it. I thought the story plot was great, and I beleive that Brian Jacques is a good writer and has a good imagination. All his books that I have read were great. That's why his Redwall books are #1 best-selling books.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: Before the Taggerung came out this was my favourite Redwall novel - I've read it over 15 times! The action is great and the characters (some from pearls of lutra, which I read at least 20 times) are described with amazing detail. The battle scenes are the most realistic in any Redwall book! I saw some reviewers here say that they don't like the book because bits describing the scenery are boring or because of difficult dialect. But that's what to me makes Redwall stand out among all the other animal fantsy novels - it's archaic beauty. And Redwall books wouldn't be right without the different tongues - maybe it's because I live in New Zealand, a very British ex-British colony, and it's different in the US. Anyhow, I love all books in the Redwall series, and this is one of the best.
Rating: Summary: The Long Patrol Review: Book Review The novel, Long Patrol, by Brian Jacques, is a novel about a young hare named Tammo who, wants to be in a group of fighting hares called the Long Patrol, but his father won't let him. So a squirrel takes him. Little does he know that he would be facing a huge army called the Rapscallins. Tammo ends up learning more than he would in a lifetime. The novel takes place in Mossflower Woods and Redwall Abbey. My favorite character, Tammo, had bravery, loyalty, and skill. My least favorite character was Tammo's dad.I thought he was really mean...I liked the book because it had many action parts, but it had some boring parts like at the beginning, the narrator is talking about the season and butterflies. Sometimes the author gets your attention and sometimes not. The author gives you a bunch of details like the surroundings. The age would probably be 8 and up because it has some violence and it was in the adult isle at one bookstore. I think the book was great, but it had some boring parts so I would give it [3 stars]. In my opinion somebody else should read it.
Rating: Summary: my fav redwall novel Review: The Long Patrol was my fave redwall novel. I've read it at least 5 times. I guess it's more appealing than the other redwall novels because it has a happy, romantic ending (I really liked Martin the warrior because it had some romance laced in but the ending was, well I don't want to give it away so I'll say it was "inconclusive") I recommend it to grades 4 or 5 (depending on your reading level) or up
