Summary: well written and fast moving
Review: This book is fast moving packed with action and suspense, another great book of the sieries. A great battle as usual, a dispisable villain, loyalty, bravery, treachory, and good hard fast moving packed action.

Summary: They can't ALL be as good as the first one
Review: I love most of Brian Jacques' Work, but found this one comparable to Martin the Warrior. In otherwords it's dull, superficial and headach-inducing. Tammo is a fine and well-developed character in the first few chapters. After he goes off to join the Long Patrol he is overruled by other Long Patrol hares, most of whom are hardly as interesting as Martin, Matthias, or other Jacques characters. The worst part of this book, in my opinion was the reasoning of one character or another- That war is only existent because of evil, a concept I don't agree with at all. War is there because some stupid leader decides to put his foot in world affairs that are none of their business, and one could hardly call George Bush evil- incredibly flawed, but not at all evil. This turns this book's philosophy into a disgusting, innacurate, and childish worldview.
Those interested in Jacques work would do better to read such great volumes as Redwall, Mattimeo, Mariel of Redwall, and The Bellmaker.
In otherwords, this is for hard-core, and I mean really hard-core fans only.

Summary: Drew Petty's Review
Review: This book is a wonderful book. It starts out great, in the middle it's great, and it ends great. If you like adventurous books and you love redwall then this is the book for you. I started reading this book about 3 and a half weeks ago and I finished it in less than 2 weeks because I couldn't put it down. I've always loved Brian Jacques, in fact when I was younger, where I come from, there used to be a tv show about redwall. I loved it so much, I started reading the books and this is definately my favorite of all. After, I passed it on to all of my friends and they also loved. So, if you are looking for a good book, read The Long Patrol.

Summary: Another Redwall Gem
Review: A difficult book to read - the dialogue of the Long Patrol Hares is difficult to follow. Quite a challange for a young reader - as in all the Redwall series - Good vs. Evil and adventure and Intrigue. If you are going to read this book to a smaller child - note abrupt violence.

Summary: Truly Amazing
Review: The Long Patrol is DEFINENTLY one of my favorites, because of it's swift action, and stunning events. This story is about a hare named Tammelo De Formelo Tussock, who wants to do nothing, but join the Long Patrol(a group of marching hares). But his stubborn father, the Colonel, will not let him join. When his mother gives him a chance to run away with a squirrel named Russa Nodrey to find the Patrol, he goes. When he joins up, he wonders if this life is really cut out for him. A truly amazing story.-I M A RDWLL FAN

Summary: The hare warrior
Review: If you love adventure, this is the book for you. This book has action,
Drama, and animals playing the roles of humans and villains. You start off with Tammo, a young hare from Camp Tussock. Tammo¹s father does not approve of Tammo wanting to join the Long Patrol a group of perilous hares who defend Mossflower country. His mother and the squirrel Russa Nodrey help him realize his dream. But that is only the beginning of this tale.

The murderous army of Damaug Warfang (also known as the Rapscallions) is on the move. Only one thing stands between him and the tranquil abbey of
Redwall: the hares of the Long Patrol. Throughout this book you will
Accompany Tammo on his quest to become a member of the Long Patrol. Along the way, you will meet Lady Crega Rose Eyes, the badger lord of
Salamandastron and many other interesting characters. In your mind, after you have started reading this book, you will start to be able to hear what you think the voices of the character sound like. And every character has a unique accent Sometimes this is hard to read. For example, mole speech (³Us¹n¹s be walkin¹ back even if¹n it takes ten seasons t¹do et.²)

In my opinion, this book has action, drama, and suspense. I like the way the author jumps between one group of characters to another. That way you find out what is happening at the same time to all the characters, and you get everyone¹s point of view. And it adds to the suspense when someone gets in a pickle at the end of a chapter and you have to wait a chapter or two to find out what happened to them.

I recommend this book to Brian Jacques fans and also to people who liked
Wind in the Willows, The Hobbit, and the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis. It uses imagination, but is similar to things that are real. Brian Jacques weaves a web of characters and their stories. You will have trouble putting this book down. There is never a dull moment. Luckily, there are many more books in this series, because I am sure you will want to read them all.

If you read this book you will learn what ³ S¹death on the wind²,
³Eulalalia² and ³Bloodwrath² mean, and much, much more. I look forward to seeing you at Redwall Abbey sometime- unless the Rapscallions conquered it! You The Long Patrol Kicks Tail!
will have to read the book to find out!

Review: This is my favourite book because I love hares, wot! Well, jolly ol' chap, how's the salad goin'? This is mostly about the Long Patrol and about the South wall sinking. It's an absolutely fascinating story, wot! Pass me that strawberry scone will ye? Where's the good ol' October H'ale, wot?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A tail of Adventure, Love, and Destiny
Review: I'm a big Redwall fan. And this, I think, Is Brian Jaques best book well it's tied at 1st with Lord Brocktree! It's about a young hair who wants to prove he can become a Long Patroler of salamanderstron (The mountin of Badger lords.)
But if you haven't read it and like Redwall you Definetly Should.

Review: Young Tammo dreams of joining the hares of the Long Patrol, but his father does not let him. Under the help of his mother, Tammo escapes with Russa Nodrey, joins with a branch of the Long Patrol under the command of Major Perigord Habile Sinistra, and helps protect Redwall Abbey from attack from Damug Warfang and his vermin Rapscallion army.
