Summary: Not the best of the Redwall series, but still a good book
Review: This book ranks low on my Redwall scale, because it lacked certain elements that the Redwall reader has come to expect. The final battle is not described in great detail, and the ultimate battle between Cregga Rose Eyes and Damug Warfang wasn't described at all, which is a disappointment to the reader. Cregga Rose Eyes was a weak character, an effect that was magnified by the fact that she was a badger. In the previous Redwall books, badgers had a certain sense of omniscience, whereas Cregga was all to 'human.' Nonetheless, I was satisfied when I finished THE LONG PATROL. It's a good read with interesting characters and a plot that kept me riveted. Give THE LONG PATROL a going-over and you'll see what I mean.

Summary: A good book for all ages
Review: This fast paced book begins with a young hare named Tammello De Fformelo Tussock, called Tammo, at his home Camp Tussock. Against his father's wishes, retired Long Patrol Colonel Cornspurrey, he runs away with Russa Nodrey, a squirrel, to join the famed Long Patrol; fighting hares who protect the shores of the west and the Mossflower area. He meets up with a regiment of the Long Patrol under Major Perigord. Also in this story are the Rapscallions, vermin who won't go too far out to sea. Led by their Firstblade, Damug Warfang, they try to wreck havoc against the peaceful abbey of Redwall after their defeat at Salamandastron. The Fistblade knows the south wall is crumbling, so this is an ally. Also in this story is Cregga Rose Eyes, Badger Lady. She led the Long Patrol against the Rapscallions. All are met at a ridge for the final battle between good and evil. Don't miss out on this great book!

Summary: I could burn that book cause it's so cool!!!!!!!!!
Review: being an avid reader of the Redwall series, i got this the first day it came out and was halfway done with it by the time i got home. Loving these books and reading them so much has allowed me to wonder what is going to happen to russano in one of his later books. i have but to finish mariel of redwall this week, and i only have 3 more to go after that to finish the series. if you are starting with these books i don't advise you read this one first, but to start with something like martin the warrior or mossflower. all in all, i was surprised once again at jacques' lack of fear to kill/injure main characters, and his ability do describe for 3 straight paragraphs the food at a famous redwall feast. when i die, if god decided to send me to redwall instead of heaven, i wouldn't be too disappointed ~ryan alexander age 14

Review: "The Long Patrol" by Brian Jaques is an outstanding book for kids around the ages of 10-14 and I would recomend it everyone. Not only do kids love the books by Brian Jaques but I know many parents that love his writing too and read his books. The Long Patrol is probably the best book I've ever read in my whole life and I want everyone to know that. To all those people out there that don't know what to read for their next book, read The Long Patrol by Brian Jaques.

Summary: Brian Jacques does it again
Review: The Long Patrol is another great book by Jacques. I thought it was awesome. I do not recomend it for anyone if it's their first Redwall book. A great story and intresting characters! I love the way the plot gets twisted into the story!

Summary: Brian Jacques' best novel yet!
Review: Brian Jacques demonstrated to me, an avid reader of the series (I've read them all) again what he can do with his tremendous imagination and witty humor. This book is definitely filled to the brim with it all! I thought it was strange that this was one of his shortest books at only 358 pages, yet he packed so much info into so little writing. He's the only author that I have read that can do that. Tammo was really funny, as was the Long Patrol and all the characters. Damug Warfang made a great villain, smart, cunning, and swift, but I really hoped that the battle would have been longer. But still, The Long Patrol is the best addition to the series! Euliliiaaa!!! 'S death on the wind! Redwaaaaaallll! Logalogalogalogalog!!!
