Rating: Summary: I loved the book. Review: This is one of the best Star Trek books I've ever read. The idea about an alternate universe with evil twins is a good one. My favorite part of this book was when Captain Picard, Geordi, and Deanna almost have a way to defeat the enemy ship and are about to get discovered. I was up one night reading that part for about two hours straight. The suspense was tremendous and made for a very engrossing book.
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: This book puts in all the classic moves of TNG. It is fantastic. The way it has humor and feelings the way Picard makes the other Troi back off it is priceless. You can see it clearly as if you were watching the show. It is very, very good and anyone who is a star trek fan needs to get their hands on this book it is worth it. I've read it twice and I could read it a couple more times. I would recomend it to anyone. And it has it's bits of humor in it. And it makes you think twice of what Deanna could do. It is an excelent book!
Rating: Summary: Brief Discussion on Diana Duane's "Dark Mirror"-StarTrek TNG Review: to the reader, Allow me to confirm your intentions on buying this book, it is spectacular! Rememeber the episode "Mirror, Mirror" in the original series where Kirk and crew became exposed to a dark and evil parallel dimension, well bring these memories into the 24th century! Imagine Picard with the wrath and anger of Khan, A power hungry and murderous Riker and a seductive Troi who has the power to probe your thoughts and use them to your destruction. All this with the possibility of Galaxy Class Battle ready Enterprise-D coming into our reality and taking over the Federation. It's all the same action of "Mirror, Mirror"-TOS, with the suspence of "Crossover"-DS9. -CarL Jackson
Rating: Summary: Did you like Mirror, Mirror? Review: If you did then you will like this story of the Enterprise crew meeting up with themselves. Picard and others battle to get away from the meaner Enterprise. By doing so they are freed from their bondage. This book, is easy to understand and funny in many places. Watch out for Deana, she bits!
Rating: Summary: A Boring Book Review: The premise is interesting, but the result is a boring book filled with unnecessary dialogues, ambiguous descriptions, and inaccurate scientific basis. If you're a die-hard Trekkie, you would probably read it anyway, but afterwards you would be writing a review just like this one
Rating: Summary: A Good Read, but overcome by events.... Review: The story is a well-conceived extrapolation of how events might have transpired in the "Mirror" universe created by the Original Star Trek series. The story itself deals with "The Next Generation" crew and how they deal with the threat of an invasion by their "Mirror" Universe counterparts. On it's own merit, the story is worth a reader's investment, provided you can live with the notion that this story was written some time ago does not follow the Star Trek "canon" story-line developed for the Deep Space Nine crew since 1995
Rating: Summary: best book ever Review: I have read this book about 5 times. Star Trek The Next Generation: Dark Mirror is one of the BEST books I have ever read. I love mirrior universe and alternate reality stories and this is the best one I've read.

Rating: Summary: Dar Mirror BRIEF review Review: Diane Duane is an intelligent author. She knows her Star Trek. But she is to serious about it. She tends to be too wordy. "Dark Mirror" starts off really slow, but picks up by the middle/end. The last couple of chapters are too "techno-bablish". I prefer an auther like Michael Jan Friedman or Peter David who knows all about Star Trek but have a sense of humor about it. The highlight of this book is the BAD Troi. Also, the GOOD Picard is very good too. Hwiii the dolphine is LAME. I would not get it unless you have read all the other books you wanted to read. So in summary, this book is a "5". Not bad, not good. It shouldn't be a priority. I say, read "Q-Squared". It is completely an opposite style of "Dark Mirror". Oh, lastly, the DS9 shows have changed the "history" of this. They say the "empire" was tooken over, it still exsists in this book
Rating: Summary: Very Suspensful Review: Excellent book. Revisits the "Imperial Star Fleet" from the original Star Trek episode "Mirror Mirror" - only this time it's not an accident. Just wish I could get a picture of Counselor/Political Officer Troi
Rating: Summary: STNG Dark Mirror - A truly exceptional novel! Review: Diane Duane is one of Star Trek's best and most celebrated authors. She also has the distinction of being one of the most contradicted authors by later, "on screen" episodic canon; both in her version of the Romulans and in the mirror universe. In a way though, her work stands on its own, in her own "mirror universe" of a sort in Star Trek fiction.Capitalizing on The Original Series episode, "Mirror, Mirror," "Dark Mirror" gave Star Trek readers something that many fans had been looking forward to for quite some time, a return to the mirror universe to see what happened after Captain Kirk's accidental but historic "crossover." Although I am a huge fan of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and from the very first episode in which they visited the mirror universe and the following shows once every year for the remainder of the series, in a way, I liked Diane Duane's version better. The cover art for this hardback and paperback serves the novel quite well, showing the faces of the two, quite different, Captain Picard's. The premise: In one of Star Trek's darkest, yet most intriguing stories, author Diane Duane takes us back to mirror universe - I love the opening chapter of this novel in which the Enterprise is in interstellar space but they're between "spiral arms" in the galaxy where there are no stars and it seems to be having an effect on the crew. Before long the crew finds themselves and the Enterprise having been dragged through the "looking glass" and they're now in the mirror universe where they soon learn that their doppelgangers are on a mission to replace them. What is so interesting about this novel is their doppelgangers from the mirror universe and the complete twist in the characters, especially Deanna Troi and her extremely powerful mirror universe counterpart. Captain Picard and crew find that in order to save the ship, themselves and the Federation from an all out invasion by their power hungry counterparts, they must infiltrate their ship on a mission of intelligence gathering and sabotage. What follows from there is, as stated above, one of the most intriguing and alluring Star Trek stories to date, and in no small measure, deserved of the rare hardback version it was printed in. I highly recommend this novel to any and all fans of the genre and even more so if you can find the hardback version of it! As a side note; the audio tape version, read by "Q" himself, John De Lancie, makes for an excellent three hour diversion while driving down the highway. I've listened to this one more times than I can remember. {ssintrepid}
