Rating: Summary: Back cover of The Chosen Ones Review: "I enjoyed The Chosen Ones tremendously. It's a wonderful book." -Brad Linaweaver, author of The Land Beyond SummerWhat if you discovered you're not who you think you are? Overhead, a brilliant white light shone down on my face, blinding me. I tried to call out for help, "Mama! Papa!" but my small voice could not be heard above the din. The harder I tried to break free, the tighter the straps around by wrists and ankles bound me to the table. "Orion... Orion..." I opened my eyes slowly. It was Shia, my mother. "Was it the same dream again?" she asked softly. Thus begins the story of Orion and Maya, teenagers on a distant planet called Cyberion. What is the meaning of the artifacts they find buried in a secret cave? Join them as they unravel a mystery that will change everything they thought they knew about themselves.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: I read The Chosen Ones on Cyberteens years ago, and I can still remember the whole story almost completely. Not that many books get so completely stuck in my memory like this one did, and I'm so glad that now I can reread it now, and in a handheld copy instead of off of the computer screen.

Rating: Summary: YAY! Review: I read this book each week as Julie Richer published it on cyberteens years ago. I used to hide the fact that I printed each chapter from my mother because I was using up the ink space. I was very young then but I still have the copy of the book and I loved to read it over and over again, now I can buy the book and have it as a true keepsake! AWESOME story!

Rating: Summary: Review of The Chosen Ones Review: I would encourage and Science-Fiction fan who are interested in the possiblilities of "others like us" to read this book. Also anyone who just likes to read good books. This would probably be considered "Young Adult" reading. I have read it and really enjoyed it. Orian and Maya are two normal teens, or so they thought. They discover and interesting secret about their past and that of their parents, not to mention others. This book has something for everyone. Murder, mystery, adventure, love, and many twists to the tale!

Rating: Summary: I love this book! Review: It's set in the future and the main characters are two very cool teens. They make some discoveries that start them on a quest. I don't want to give anything away but I will tell you that the ancient artifacts they find (from our time) are described so well by the author that you can actually figure out what they are. It's very cool. In fact, everything in this book is described really well. There's so much detail that I remember it like a movie. I highly recommend this book to people of all ages, not just teens.
Rating: Summary: Teens on Cyberteens helped create The Chosen Ones Review: The Chosen Ones was originally published serially (a chapter a week) on Cyberteens. I'd like to thank the young people who read it and sent their comments. Thanks also to all those of you who helped choose the title. It was fun! For those of you who are about to read it, I hope you enjoy The Chosen Ones as much as I enjoyed writing it. Maya and Orion are two characters I hated to say goodbye to when the novel ended.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing Review: The line "What if you discovered you're not who you think you are?" can range from the angst of an adoption story to the massive deceptions of "The Matrix." This particular story, once published in Cyberteens, is a science fiction tale of a pair of teens on the world of Cyberion. One of them, Orion, is haunted by sinister, disturbing dreams, in which a brilliant light is being shone down and parents are unable to hear cries for help... Orion and Maya soon discover strange artifacts buried inside a cave. What are they? What does this mean to them? They are not normal archaeological finds, as they portend a massive and disturbing discovery for the kids.... This is a nice SF read, which poses some absorbing questions as the plotm goes along. Writing is evocative and descriptive, especially for descriptions of landscapes and surroundings. All is suitably otherworldly without being bizarrely so. Atmosphere is handed EXTREMELY well in this novel; the beginning dream, with its aura of loneliness and powerlessness, is enough to send chills down the spine. Another scene I found immensely powerful was the "quest" in the desert, when Maya encounters a dead friend of hers. Richner's use of language effectively makes the reader see and feel these events. Occasionally the pace becomes uneven, though characterizations are strong and well-made. A very enjoyable SF novel! Very recommended.
