Summary: Great Book!
Review: I read this book after I read the Changeling Prince which is the sequel to this book. It happens in a time before lylene and actually makes more sense. But this book was a fun reader. I wouldn't give it all five stars but it is up there!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Interesting
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I'm a fast reader and due to that my reading habit costs quite a bit of money, yet reading VVV's books make me read them even faster because of the level of suspense and I never want to put them down. This doesn't bother me at all because I go back and read them again and again because I love them. This is the third book I've read by VVV and although her book Companions of the Night is my favorite this book is much better than the Changeling Prince and if you have to chose between the two of them better choose this one!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not as good as the rest of VVV's stuff
Review: I really think this book is not up there with some of her better stuff like Dragon't Bait and Companions of the Night. I felt inclined to smack Lylene half the time. The prequel "Changeling Prince was a lot better.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An interesting, fun, and creative masterpiece!!!
Review: I think that this book is wonderful. The characters were completely original and so was the plot!! I felt that I really got to know the people and would recommend this book to almost anyone. Has just a hint of romance and an interesting twist on what could have made a very cool fairy tale. If you like this then you might want to read The Changeling Prince, which is a prequel to this and is about Weiland and Shile.^_^

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: I thought this book was a well thought out view of sorcery, and a girl determined to rescue her sister. Well done Vivian Vande Velde!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Realistic......but fun!
Review: I was pleasently surprised at how good this book was. As a fan of Fantasy/Science Fiction with a touch of Romance, I thought that this book had it all. The characters were real, they had flaws, feelings, and passions. For those of you who think that Fairy Tales are all happy light stories, you've only read the watered down versions. Try reading an origonal Hans Christian Andersson. In the origonal version of Little Mermaid (writen by Hans Christian Anderson) the prince falls in love with a neiboring princess and the little mermaid dies after she looses her bargain with the sea witch. A little different from the Disney vesion.

Summary: Not Your Average Heroine
Review: Lylene is not your average sixteen-year old. Instead of obsessing over what to wear, or who to marry, she is more concerned with saving her sister Beryl's life. In the Conjurer Princess, the young heroine of the story faces many tough challenges while befriending two handsome men. I picked up this novel while at a book fair in my school several years ago. Within that time span, I must have read this book 10 times or more. It's a truely great book; it's of fantasy genre, so of course I would love it. I believe this to be Vivian Van Velde's greatest work. I've read Curses, Inc. but couldn't really get into it, and I've also read Companions of the Night, another great book, but did not intrigue me as much as Conjurer Princess. This should be a must-have for all fantasy lovers!

Summary: NOT a tradiional fairy tale...
Review: The Conjurer Princess is a modern sort of fairy tale-- dark, quirky and bittersweet. All the usual cliches are avoided successfully. Lylene is not a sweet and beautiful princess; closer to a determined and basically honorable person on a quest that is not what she thinks it is. Those who appear to be enemies are not what they seem...nor those who seem to be allies.

The ending, like those in all of Vivian Vande Velde's books, is not quite a happily-ever-after conclusion. Left wide open to speculation about the future...If you're looking for a realistic and biting fantasy in which nothing is ever quite as it appears, give this one a try.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Should be classified as YA not adult
Review: The story is interesting and fast paced and very short. The writting is simplistic and the story reads like the telling of a fairytale since there is no depth. I was not at all surprised to discover that the writer's other books are all young adult, since that is the level of this book.
