Summary: This review will knock your socks off! Five Stars!!!!!
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A fantastic example of epic style.
Review: This mammoth 450+ page masterpiece begins with a rather ordinary setting involving a fellow named Ivo Archer. But Anthony does not stop with merely detailing exciting exploits. He successively widens the scope past Ivo, who is more than he seems, to master plans of alien races long dead. Just when you feel you have understood the scale of the tale, Anthony notches it up again, in effect saying, "that was just a warm up. Now consider THIS!". Most books establish their boundaries, and proceed to weave a plot within the assumptions. Macroscope uncorks everything, from Astrological symbolism, to an exploration of the boundaries of humanity. Enjoy. --Carl Woollen

Summary: Go Figure! Out of Print?
Review: What planet are we from? Literally hundreds of books by PA here on Amazon and the greatest work, well certainly one of the greatest works, in SF is out of print! What is going on here? I am 45 years old and have been an avid reader since the age of 12. I've read most of the classic SF and even some schlock. This book ranks right up among the top 5 SF books and is a strong contender for the top slot. Think about this...I first read this book when I was in high school (1972) and I can still recall the absolute awe I felt as I read it. No other...make that few other...book(s) have the power to stick in your mind for that many years. If you only read ONE science fiction book (other than DUNE) in your life, pick up this one. You will not be disappointed. And a word to the publishers...BRING THIS BOOK BACK!

Summary: Death of Science Fiction
Review: When I was young I restricted my reading almost exclusively to two genres, History and Science Fiction. They were filled with the nobility of the human race and were often emotionally satisfying. After returning from a year in Vietnam in the late '60's where my romantic view of humanity was severely burised I was emotionally spent and thought some good SF might pick me up. I picked up this book along with "Cities in Flight" and "Stand on Zanzibar". I spent an entire weekend and part of the following week, nearly 24 hrs a day riveted to the pages of these books.

I haven't read a science fiction book since. These three books drained the life out of anything Science Fiction can possibly give us. I have been to the mountaintop and it's all down hill from there.

Summary: only the best
Review: without a doubt the best book written by piers anthony as far as the depth of character and total telling of the story. i have read this book several times and will continue to read it again and again. while the masses may enjoy mr. anthony's other types of story (fantasy),myself being among them - this book is the one that will make the author stand out as one of the best writers of pure science fiction the world has known.

Summary: Quite possibly the most interesting sci-fi I've read.
Review: Wow! This book made me think on so many levels. Time and space meld. It's fantastic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An absolute must read
Review: Wow, I have read this book several times. It is so thought provoking, that I had to buy another copy when I lost my original. Of all the SF books I read, this has to be one of the first books I recommend to other readers. What a shame it is out of print now.
