Rating: Summary: It took me longer to read it than it took to write it!! Review: I am a Patterson fan, so of course I bought it. I think that it took me longer to read it than it took to write it!!
Rating: Summary: TOO SHORT Review: This book was wonderful, I couldn't put it down. Unfortunately it ended too soon. I finished it in one day! He has a great story line and left it open for other sequels, however, I would have preferred this to be longer.
Rating: Summary: Is it me or are his novels getting worse? Review: I rated this book with one star just because there wasn't a zero available. I feel I have incredible patience just to have finished this book.Unfortunately it seems Mr. Pattersons books are declining in quality (and plot)with each passing publication. This was one of the biggest stinkers I have read this year, right up there with "Prey" by Crichton. This book had no plot and I had zero emotional investments/interest in the adventure or the characters. Not even Max's teen angst could get through. It moved so quickly and disjointedly that you couldn't keep up. By the end of the book I was hoping they would all perish just to stop another book from ever being published in this series. I would not recommend this book at all unless you like reading stinkers, you masochist you!
Rating: Summary: Glad I got it from the library! Review: I have enjoyed Patterson's Alex Cross books but this effort is simply terrible. Consider this short piece of a phone conversation between the narrator and Max, a 12-year-old bird-girl with an IQ that supposedly is so high it can't be measured: "Max's voice suddenly choked up. 'I gotta go.' 'Max, what is it? What's going on? There's something else, isn't there?' 'I can't talk about it. Can't," she said. "But it hurts so much to keep it a secret. It's bad, Frannie. Sorry, sorry, I've gotta go.' 'What are you talking about, Max? You're rambling. Slow down, honey.'" RAMBLING? SLOW DOWN? Is this author paying any attention at all? Not only that but the type is huge and the chapters are only a few paragraphs long, a blatant attempt to get a lot of money for not very much. Fortunately it was the library's money, not mine.
Rating: Summary: Worst Book I've Ever Read Review: actually I'm sorry to say I bought the audio tapes and am furious that I wasted good money on such drivel! I didn't like the first in the series and didn't realize this was a sequel until the first couple of sentences. Altho disappointed, I thought I'd continue to listen during my daily work commute as an alternative to talk radio. After a couple of hours, it became a chore, after a couple of days, I was only listening for the comic value of this inane waste of good audio tape! Not only is the basis of the novel completely farcical, the dialoge is ridiculous and the writing itself asinine. Only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because it's the lowest rating available - otherwise, it would get NEGATIVE STARS!
Rating: Summary: A thoughtless sequel Review: I have become disappointed with Mr. Patterson's latest works. He seems to have gotten lazy - not explaining things, not resolving situations, etc. This is all that is bad about him rolled into one place. I enjoyed When The Wind Blows, but this book just blows. It is as if he were persuaded to write a sequel, and he decided to just knock it off in a weekend. The "Resurrection" part of the story appears to be an unfinished product he had laying around that he just stuck in to the new book. I'm sure that he could have done a much better job with this if he had just put some thought into it.
Rating: Summary: Don't Bother with this read! Review: I am a HUGE James Patterson fan, but after reading the "Lake House" I was embarrased that I spent the money and the time! If you enjoy what I consider the "typical" James Patterson novel (ie- Alex Cross, 1st to Die, 2nd Chance, The Beach House, etc.)you most likely will not like this read. I will not go into the details of the book since so many others have, but normally I have to convince myself to put his books down so I can get some sleep. However, this read, I was trying to convince myself to keep reading and telling myself "it'll be over soon, or it'll get better soon"! It did finally end (thank goodness), but it never got any better in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: Not a winged victory.... Review: What could have been a decent premis of a plot was drastically reduced to drivel by way of its pitifully sophmoric delivery.
Rating: Summary: So Different! Review: I was afraid I would not enjoy this book because it was so different from his usual series. I could not put the book down. I really enjoyed the twists and turns and though the plot was not very challenging, the characters were incredible and it left me wanting more.
Rating: Summary: IT STUNK Review: JAMES PATTERSON'S WORST BOOK AND A SHAMEFUL SEQUEL TO WHEN THE WIND BLOWS DON'T BUY IT.
