Summary: This book was sooooooo confusing!!!!!!!!
Review: This book was okay but hard to understand. Claudia wanted to feel important! Talk about conceded. The only part I did like was when they went to see Mrs.Basil E. Frankweiler. The rest of the book was very confusing and hard to put together. You will have to read it for yourself to find out if you like it or not but in my mind it's really sort of bad. Did Claudia only bring Jamie just for his money. What a BRAT!!!!

Summary: A Must Read!
Review: This was the first book I read by E.L. Konigsburg, and since I liked it so much, I wanted to read more of her books. The way she described the Big Apple and the Metropolitan Museum of Art got me and aperently the Newbery commitee, too. The book makes you seem to like museums better than you used to. I, as an Iowan, have never been to NY but if I ever go, the Met. is going to be one of my stops. I have read a number of Newbery books, and this ranks #1.

Summary: I think this was a good book.
Review: I think this was an adventurous book. The reason I think this is because you did not know what was going to take place right after the part you just read. I also thought the characters were very brave. they even stayed at the museum by themselves so that shows that they are responsible and can take care of themselves.

Summary: A wonderful way to introduce kids to museums
Review: I first read this book in third grade and it quickly became one of my favorites. My brother and I were fascinated by the descriptions of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and we couldn't wait to visit the Met. Having read the book, we enjoyed our visit much more. I am now 25 and I am eagerly awaiting my next visit to the Met. Thanks to this book, I was introduced at a young age to a world of knowledge and art that I might not have been interested in otherwise. My appreciation for museums and all they have to offer began with this book. Kids should definitely read this book before they visit New York City and the Met!

Summary: You will be perched on the edge of your seat!!
Review: This book is about two young siblings, Claudia and Jamie, who have run away from home and are staying at the New York Metropolitan Museaum. During their stay, they encounter a mystery that ends up consuming Claudia. She investigates it with her brother's assistance and in the end, it ultimately changes them both.

The characters themselves are very interesting. The most unexpected are Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and Saxonberg (especialy Saxonberg). They provide a wonderful twist to the story that you will never expect. Pay particular attention to their roles. The children, like most storybook hero's and heroin's, are head-strong, think that they are more intelligent than most adults, and are very independent. Although the children are not believable as far as reality goes, they are very enteratining and still quite lovable.

The plot of this story unfolds slowly, but it pulls you in until you just have to know what will happen next. You will find that one minute you want to scold Claudia and Jamie, and the next you can't help but laugh at what they have done. Not everything that happens in the story relates to the plot, some things happen to assist in developing the characters personalities.

I can say only this about the setting without giving the story away: Try to imagine two children alone in a dark lonely museum at night or roaming around the hustle and bustle of New York City and you have the perfect setting for a delightful story.

I enjoyed reading this story with all the twist and turns that it takes. Especially the surprise ending. To find out more about Claudia and Jamie and their adventure, read the book. You will love it!!!

Summary: A book of thrilling suspense for a young reader.
Review: This book is one of the best books I've ever read. It has a thrilling amount of suspense. It's about a girl that wants to runaway because she thinks she's not cool. She takes her brother and they hide out in a museum. The museum workers have a hunch that one of the statues in the museum was made by Michaelangelo. They go do a lot of research and they're almost positive that Michaelangelo sculpted it, So they go to the lady that sold the statue to the museum. She finally tells them who sculpted it. Could it be Michaelangelo? You'll have to read this book to find out.

Summary: This book is not good.
Review: It's about two spoiled kids who run away and secretly live in a museum to figure out a mystery. I never actually understood what the mystery was while reading this. Claudia and Jamie are spoiled filthy brats.

Review: As a child, I read this book. My mother told me it would be wonderful and she was right on the mark!! I am twenty-something and still remember not being able to put this book down. I cannot wait to read this book with my children. The author truly understands children and their way of thinking.

Summary: I just couldn't beleive it!
Review: I am currently 35 years old. My third grade teacher in Temple, Tx., Mrs Hodges read her class this book. All I could remember about it was that the woman in the book was named Mrs. Basel E Frankenwyler. This is how I typed and spelled into Amazmon.com's search engine and low and behold. The real name of the book, as I suddenly remembered was, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. This is just amazing. No wonder you're making them guys up north sweat. I'm in Temple, Tx. and I could never have found this book anywhere else.....I just can't believe it! WOW!!!!! You guys are fantastic! And I did buy the book just for grins and giggles.
