Summary: A land of fantasy and adventure
Review: A humorous, adventuresome journey through the imaginary land of Daranor, with the boy hero who is trying to find the meaning of his powers, by a young writer with a great deal of potential. Complete with dragons, mermen, shape shifters, a Dark Lord and evil Queen of Darkness, it is for fantasy lovers and young adults, as some parts are too bloody for small children. Bill Pottle is a writer to keep your eye on."

Summary: Elderly Reader Pleasantly Surprised by Dreamquest
Review: As a woman of advanced age, I am not into fantasy literature. After seeing commercials for "Harry Potter" and "Lord of the Rings", I knew I did not want to see the movies. But since "Dreamquest" was highly recommended by a friend, I figured I'd better read it
What a pleasant surprise!
It is a very interesting story and as the plot unfolded I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next, who would live and who would die, and how was it all going to end.
I loved the subtle bits of humor that popped up now and then.
A very well written book.

Summary: Quest is awesome
Review: Author Bill Pottle opens the doors to an engaging world of magic, adventure, and friendship. The progression of the novel flows like the growth of a young boy into a man. As innocence is lost to the atrocities of evil, we find a few unlikely heroes in a pair of mischievous friends that ultimately become the key to the salvation of their world. The childhood antics of Tarthur and his friend Derlin give a light hearted feeling to the land of Daranor, which gradually matures into a more powerful and evocative environment. Much as Tarthur and Derlin mature from young trouble makers into renown heroes. You will find yourself drawn into the adventure and notice a little bit if yourself in the would be heroes, perhaps even reliving some past exploits from your own youth. First fights, first loves, first encounters with people from different lands, first encounters with evil forces bent on taking control of the world! You will laugh and cry as Tarthur and Derlin learn and experience the harsh realities of life and find hope for the future in the unity of the people of Daranor. Dream Quest marks the beginning of what is bound to be a prominent future in fantasy tales for author Bill Pottle

Summary: No Doubting Bill Pottle's Wizardy
Review: DreamQuest is a book reminiscent of Dragons, Wizards and Gaming. Author Bill Pottle has assembled a score of magical characters--elves and shapeshifers, to name a few. His young heroes, Tarthur and Derlin, are true heroes, despite their penchant for thievery and pranks. His villains are bad to the bone.

Tarthur, the young apprentice to the village blacksmith, dreams of becoming a royal knight--sword in hand, riding out on his charger alongside of his best friend Derlin.
But one night, Tarthur has a different dream--a dream in which he learns to control
the Water Orb. The Orb is one of the four elemental forces, along with air, fire and earth, lost to the world for nearly three centuries. This knowledge will change their lives forever, along with the rest of the world.

The good wizard, Zelin, knows Tarthur's dream alone will not save the world. Zelin hopes Tarthur's dream vision will shed light on the workings of the Water Orb, now in the possession of the evil Death Lord Darhyn. He fears the evil lord is stirring in his slumber, reaching out to young Tarthur while he sleeps. He fears the Death Lord Darhyn, for Darhyn has vowed to conquer all mankind. Little does Zelin know that sending the boys on a mission to the Merfolk will be the beginning of a great journey where they find adventure, hope and their manhood.

There is no doubting Bill Pottle's wizardry as he paints DreamQuest's settings--along with the sweet taste of freedom and the blossom of first love. Cheer as you join them in battle with enemies that cannot die, monsters which bleed poison and dragons that spew fire. All in all one wild ride.

Summary: Review
Review: DreamQuest is a story about Tharthur and Derlin's exciting journey to the land of Daranor to save their world from evil. Along the way, they learn about the meaning of love and friendship, the reality of vulnerability and fears, and the power of perseverance. Tharthur's dream and the journey that follows it is one that we all, in a sense, seek after. That is, the desire to conquer evil, to fall in love, to be the hero, and to make friends with unlikely people is alive in all of us.

Readers will enjoy the writer's style throughout the story as he combines humor and suspense that makes every flip of the page exciting. The book takes the readers far away to a mystical land, yet cleverly includes everyday dilemmas that we all face (the boys' encounter with the beautiful ladies is a wonderful example!). I thoroughly enjoyed reading DreamQuest and I highly recommend it to anyone who lives to see their greatest dreams come true!

Summary: a review
Review: DreamQuest is the first novel (and hopefully not last) published by Bill Pottle. The story is a recounting of the young protagonist, Tarthur, quest to protect the lands of Daranor. One can not help but empathize with the characters of DreamQuest; laugh along side Tarthur and Derlin's youthful pranks, grieve the losses of the merpeople, and feel the excitement and tension of the fighters of Daranor in the battles for life and freedom against the Death Lord Darhyn. DreamQuest is captivating to an ageless audience with entertaining banter amongst colorful characters and has a youthful feel to uplift the older audience. It is essentialy a magical mixture of the jovialness and freshness of Harry Potter and the epicness of Tolkien. I do feel that Mr. Pottle's work has still not yet arrived at a finished state, but with a few more revisions a new crisper and more polished edition will arise to be much more successful. I must confess though that this first edition of DreamQuest posses an enchanting taste of rawness and freshness that very few novels posses. DreamQuest is simply a novel you must experience yourself. Whether you choose to embark upon the adventure or chose to taste the refreshing voice of DreamQuest, I wish you Bon Voyage and Bon Appetite!

Summary: DreamQuest
Review: DreamQuest will fascinate children new to the fantasy genre. Its style is easy to follow for anyone not yet in high school and its wit will grab a chuckle or an amused smile even from older readers. Pottle treats his characters with the kind of mirth and mayhem that makes his writing comic as well as dark.

The only caveat is that the large amount of characters and different viewpoints can grow confusing at times.
