Summary: Gentle, sensitive main character
Review: Charlie is not yet jaded. He is surrounded by characters (Sam, Patric, his sister) who are currently enduring and have endured painful, real life experience. Although many of these experiences can be too easily categorized as "issues" and "trends", it is important to realize that these problems are very real for many people. The book examines cuelty and pain and joy from the perspective of a loving, curious fourteen-year-old on the cusp of losing his innocence.

Summary: The most amazing book I've ever read!!!
Review: If I could only say one word about this book, it would be, 'Wow'! I couldn't put this book down ever since it first came into my grasp. Charlie leads an amazing and also sad life which left me crying harder and smiling bigger than any book has ever made me do. He has the wisdom of an elderly man and has such a unique viewpoint that changes the way you see things after you are done reading the book. Congratulations, Stephen Chbosky for writing a book that can touch someone in such a way!

Summary: NOT FOR EVERYONE
Review: this book had it's flaws, but it was all around entertaining. I would defiantly say that this book isn't for everyone... I personally liked the end because it bestows a sense that makes you want to understand and learn more about yourself, but parts of the books tried to be too much teenagerish. But I must say that this in no way compares to A CATCHER IN THE RYE

Summary: Ehh... I could do without.
Review: I feel this book tries too hard to cover too much in too short a time. Unless the reader has decided to identify with Charlie before ever cracking this sleek MTV-worthy cover, he never will, for the author offers very little in the 'hero' to touch someone who has not lived a similar life. Charlie's no Holden, no Alice in Wonderland, no Harry Potter. Each of those character experiences things I never have, but in some way touches me. So, as a recent high school graduate, I didn't find that this novel spoke to me or my compulsory teen angst. That said, I did find that I wanted to read it until the end. But I wouldn't do it again.

Summary: Most accurate book about teenage life I've ever read!
Review: I was amazed at how accurate the author captured realife incidents that REALLY happent to you as a teenager! Nothing about this book was fake. It opened my eyes to many new viewpoints and exposed me to what it's like being a wallflower.

Summary: This book exhausted me...
Review: I'm not sure what exactly I can say about "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" besides the fact that it wore me out and that I'm not sure why. It was a different sort of read. I didn't really identify with Charlie, nor did I find him unbelievable. I thought it was a good portrait of a person Maybe those who find this book to be out of touch with high school as they know it simply know a lot less about the world than they think they do. A lot of fiction is written for reasons other than documenting normalities. "1984," by George Orwell, is hardly realistic... or is it? Everyone's perception is different, and it sometimes is fascinating to see the world through someone else's eyes, even if their vision clashes with yours. That's how I felt about this book. Is the maelstorm of events that happen to Charlie realistic? Do kids like him really exists? Is he a typical slice of Americana? Maybe, or maybe not. But his world captivated me nonetheless. More than that it exhausted me, and I would say for that response alone it was worth the effort to journey there.

Summary: You just can't put it down!
Review: I loved this book. It was one of those that you just can't put down until your finished. It took me less than a day to read it and then I passed it around to all my friends. They all loved it, even my friend Lacey who hasen't read a full book since 5th grade read it and loved it!!! It made me laugh and cry. It felt as though the author was speaking from expereince and that made it seem more real. I think everyone can relate to it in some way and that's why I give it 5 stars.

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read! I bought it today, about 6 hours ago, and I am already done with it. The book is endearing, moving, and honest. I am a 17-year old male and I could definitely relate to the feelings of Charlie. This book was so touching. I started to cry while reading it because some of the feelings of Charlie are ones that I have experienced in my own life. It is rare that I am touched so much by a book. I would recommend this to anyone, but mostly teenagers because it really captures the essence of growing up.
