Summary: Honest
Review: This book can never again be compared to Salinger's _Catcher_ This is a novel about honesty, not about being phoney. Chbosky presents in intimate detail, not only the trials of teenage life but the beauty of life itself, that any reader, regardless of age level, can appreciate and learn from. Never have I read a book with such a beautiful optimism on life despite all of the cruel things it inflicts...

Summary: I need to hug Charlie
Review: Ohhh man... Charlie is one of the few charecters I wish I knew. I would call Charlie any time of day if I had the chance. Alas, it was only a book. A lovable one, I might add. If I could meet Steven Chbosky again I'd probably hug him and never let go. It's so nice to hear a voice so intimate. This book hits so many different levels, it's just astounding. After reading this in one night, I lent it to a friend of mine who also read it in one night. I could never compare it to "The Catcher in the Rye" because Charlie feels like a best friend, not a stranger.

Summary: shows true beauty of a average teenager life!
Review: This book has a deep insight of one boy's life and shows the conflicts that some teenagers may face with.I enjoy reading it as a boy's journal and his strong outlook and details on other people he admires. This book is different from any other one I've read. I enjoyed it very much!

Summary: It was Awesome!
Review: This is an awesome book! It doesn't relate to my life as a 15 year old. But it is very realistic. It is my favorite book. I just love it.

Summary: The best book ever written about teenage life.
Review: This is the finest and most truthful look at high school life ever! Chbosky does a brilliant job at portraying the every day disfunctions of adolecence, and doesn't make high school seem like a cake walk. His main character, Charlie, is not your typical 90's teen. He is not a jock or a bully or a goof-off, he is a real person with real problems. This is the first book that I ever connected to and could understand on a deep emotional level. This should be required reading in high schools. As a teenager, I have noticed that the overall levels of respect that teenages have has gone down. I could only wish to know more people like Charlie.

Summary: We should all try to be like Charlie
Review: I cried through the entire book, due to amazement and guilt. Amazement because Charlie is such an incredible person and guilt because I'm not like him. He not only allows himself to think things that would be considered strange to an outsider, but also is not afraid to acknowledge and express them to someone else. What Sam says to Charlie the night before she left really angered me; Charlie had ALWAYS done exactly what he wanted to. It was just different from the norm because he made himself happy by pleasing other people. That was always enough for him. I'm trying to do that today. Thank you, Stephen Chbosky.

Summary: A very Touching book
Review: I feel that this book was really good and everything in it was true about life as a teen. I recommend reading this book over and over again. I cant get enough of it. I love it dearly and the characters in it.

Summary: Excellent and fairly realistic
Review: About 1/2 way into this book I had a sudden thought that it's not something I would want my kids to read--if I had any. But then I realized that it is exactly what kids should be reading. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is full of love, compassion, understanding, acceptance and realistic situations.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I read it without putting it down once....
Review: It might not be enough to compare to Catcher in the Rye as many people say, but it still deserves much credit. Charlie is not like a typical teenager of his time, and i know that because i was there. However, Charlie has so many facets to his schizophrenic being that almost anybody can realate to one of his fortunes or misfortunes. Don't put this book down until you've taken the time to realize that. Chbosky has some amazing insights, and he write them with such simplicity and such beauty which is rare with modern authors. That's all i have to say about that.
