Rating: Summary: It's harsh when reality is thrown at your face... Review: I just finished reading "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," a book I probably would not have read if I hadn't received it as a gift. Luckily this wasn't my fate. Overall, the letters sent by Charlie capture all of the feelings that I have experienced and continue to experience as a high school student. I highly suggest it to readers of all ages, for even if you can't relate to everything Charlie goes through like I did, it will still be an emotional journey into the depths of your being.
Rating: Summary: I haven't even finished and i like it! Review: WOW! i started reading it today, on the advice of a friend. It is so great i was actually reading it at work. It shows the adolescent life in highschool from the viewpoint of an overall nice guy. Finally a book depicting life in the teen years that is not from the viewpoint of a "popular" kid. Great!
Rating: Summary: Perks Review: this book is a true masterpiece, and will soon become a classic. i have lent this to many of my friends and they have gone on and invested it themselves. it is a good book to have in your colection, and i would reccomend it to anyone who thinks they're mature enough to handle the bumpy ride of being a teenager missfit.
Rating: Summary: Letters from a brilliant youth! Review: This book shows us the mind and everyday thoughts of a simply brilliant youth. Charlie, the main character, shows us his brilliant side while casually revealing his psychological uncertainties. I think this was a very well-written book. It is extremely easy to identify and sympathize with all of the characters. In my opinion, I will probably turn to this book for comfort about 10 more times. It is that great!
Rating: Summary: The Perks of Being a Wallflower Review: i thouroughly enjoyed this collection of letters about one "wallflower's" experiences in high school. i never understood wallflowers or why they chose to be that way, and yet now i understand what it's like cuz i realize that i'm one too! while giving you the troubling experiences of a burdened student you are exposed to many of the "secrets" of high school, ... and life. not everyone is able to go throught the growing processes that he was able to but luckily we can learn from them with out actually experiencing them ourselves!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: This book was so amazingly truthful. I finished it in two days because I couldn't put it down. My favorite part is on page 95, when the narrator and mark are talking about how the sky is a big glass dome. Read it! It's amazing! I completely back it up and I know that you'll love it!
Rating: Summary: *Unbelieveably Truethful* Review: "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" was a gift from a friend. It was one of the most truthful, and amazing gifts anyone has ever given to me. It made me realize so many things about myself and others. For all ages above 13, this book should be read. My perspective on life is now changed, and I have passed on this treasure to many people, and they feel the same as I did after reading this book.
Rating: Summary: The Perks of Being a Wallflower Review: I thought that the book was great. Not only did it show how teenagers feel, and react to things it shows that teenagers aren't always thinking about things that most adults think we are (ex. sex) I know how Charlie feels when he meets someone that you just can't get off your mind. Being a teen is the best thing that anyone can go through and everyone knows that its true. We all learn so much. Charlie shows that all by writing his inner most thoughts. I couldn't put this book down.
Rating: Summary: True Review: Absolutely true. Exept most people don't cry quite as much as he does, and it is pretty graphic(it makes you wonder what the author thinks about *wink, wink*) but this book is so great, it doesn't matter. It's about a high school boy, and i may be a middle school girl, but i related to it as much as anyone else! I absolutely love this and have offered to lend it to most of all my friends. Read the stupid thing!
Rating: Summary: "Perks..." is the definitive book on being young> Review: Since buying the book the month it came out, I have read it three times, and I'm sure that I will probably read it that many more in the next couple of years. Never have I connected with a book so much as I did with this one. For those of us who have read it and understand what it means to feel infinate, this book does just that. Every adolescent topic is addressed in this book making it a must read for any person who works with youths or for anyone who loves watching people but trips over their tongue when they have to talk with them. I have suggested this book to all of my friends and professors, and all that have read have agreed, "The Perks of Being a Wallflowera" is the definitive book on being young.
