Rating: Summary: Best book ever written Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower is byfar the best book I've ever read. It's so good I read it twice. I loved it because Charlie reminded me so much of myself. I know how it feels to be so wound up in crazy thoughts that you lose control of everything and try to hang on but after a while, you can't do it anymore. I also like the way Charlie thinks. I love the way he questions. A lot of 16 year olds I know don't do that. They take things the way they are and live with it. Charlie always asked "Why?" And that's alright with me because you find out things that way, I guess. All in all, I loved this story. It was very different from everything else I read. I'm definitely buying my own copy.
Rating: Summary: the first "real" book i've read Review: my friend lent me borrow "perks of being a wallflower" and told me that it was extreamly boring and wasn't her taste. well, i read the book and it wowed me. Charile is a great character and I could kinda relate to him. I go into a bookstore, look for the book, buy it, and carry it everywhere with me. I bring that book everywhere. It's such a great book about sex, rocky horror picture show, high school, friends, etc. It's truly my favorite books of all time.
Rating: Summary: perks Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower was great. I read it about 10 times since March of last year, and I've never got sick of it yet. Charlie's struggle with drugs sex and passivity is something that can really hit home with a lot of people. Stephen Chbosky's work evoked all emotions, I laughed, I cried, and I sat in shock. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially "wallflowers"
Rating: Summary: i am a wallflower Review: being a wallflower i can really relate to this book i think it was a great real life look at teenage life through that kid who sits infront of you in science class i think all teenagers should have to read it.
Rating: Summary: A Godsend Review: I laughed, I cried, I got mad, I got confused. Truly this book should be required reading for everyone who has attended highschool or will be attending. Everyone will relate to one or more experiences that Charlie has in this story, if it be the untimely passing of a friend, a clueless parent, or just plain old teenaged drugs, sex, and rock and roll, you will love this book. If you loved "Go Ask Alice" you will love this book. If you loved the "Chicken Soup For The Soul" series, you will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Maybe not a classic, but truely a good book Review: I've spent a day reading all of the reviews, and support all of them, even the ones that say it wasn't good. This book isn't for everyone, that I admit, but being 16, I know that this book does and will appeal to many high schoolers and a few adults. The people that did give it a bad review are usually the people that can't relate to the book and the plot to well from their expirences in high school, but those that can relate, even the slightest bit are the ones that will definitly like it. The book is well written and shows that every teen is different and that they should not be grouped together and all thought of as one. This book may not be for everyone, but I liked it and think that it does deserve five stars.
Rating: Summary: What an ending! Review: This book was great! I couldn't put it down, and I don't enjoy reading that much. It's composed of these letters that are written by this freshman named Charlie to an anonimous person whom he admires for the simple fact that he/she wouldn't sleep with that person even if she/he could have. It's practically his diary. It talks about his problems and how he works them out. I really recommend you read this book. Oh Yeah! there's a surprise ending.
Rating: Summary: I think.... the best book that i have ever read.... Review: From being in Middle school to graduating highschool, stephen chboskys book did nothing but amaze me. I laughed i cried... i UNDERSTOOD what Charlie was going through. I was introduced to it by a friend of mine, with him only using a sentence. Its funny cause we all go through what charlie goes through.. love... sex... drugs... if anything this is the one book that anyone can relate to. Since then i have read it aprox. 4 times and am currently going on my 5th. I recommend that anyone- any age read this book, cause you too will laugh and cry and UNDERSTAND.
Rating: Summary: The Perks of Being a Wallflower Review: I LOVED this book! Charlie, the main character, describes in detail his entire life to an unknown recipient of his letters. He deals with issues like sex, drugs, school, family, death, love, and all of the others that occur in the everyday life of teens today. While some might find parts off this book offensive, Charlie is only innocently describing the truth, and his thoughts about it. A must read!
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life! Review: The "Perks Of Being A Wallflower," was the best book I have read in a long time. I find that the characters in the story really conected with me, and my friends. If you are into the Smiths and making mixed tapes, this is the book for you.
