Summary: book review
Review: I thought the book the perks of being a wallflower was a really good book. It spoke of many things that teenagers can relate to. This kid felt like an outsider and had trouble dealing with things of his past and things that were happening in the present. This book shows how it feels to be and outcast these feelings are unknown to some people and by reading this book I think that people will see the people that are outsiders in their community in a different light.

Review: Far and away, this is one of the best books I have read. Chbosky's choice of narrator Charlie's letters to an unknown "friend" to tell his story is unique. Charlie tells only what he wants the friend (reader) to know, and for the narrow-minded, that just may be too much. The book screams for discussion. I recommend it for mature young adults, as well as for adults, with open minds and warm hearts.

Summary: small picture unravels slowly into explanation.
Review: charlie's story starts out like that of a somewhat emotionally tortured teen. his best friend michael has killed himself. charlie goes through stages of loneliness(when realizing how things have changed from junior high to high school) , hope(when making new friends), and realization(when coming to terms with his painful past). this book is a must-read for anyone of any age. i changed throughout the book, charlie's story really made me think. **also--charlie likes to use the word "incidentally". **

Summary: Touching and Beautiful
Review: I got this book after seeing a commericial on Mtv for it... after receiving it, I stayed up all night reading it... I couldn't put it down! It is so good. The main character is well developed and interesting, the book is easy to read and impossible to put down. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a really good read about a hard to resist teenager.

Summary: Good for the soul
Review: Just glancing at this book makes me happy, so I keep it on mydesk, next to my reference books. It's out of place but so good forthe soul. Although I'm not religious, the main character inspires me in almost a Christ-like way. Take a chance on this deceptively little book.

Summary: Grimm Faerieland
Review: It is sooo hard to know how to rate Mr. Chboskys book. From the literary stand point it is a four star book. Although most of it is exellent, there are times where the author is trying to be profound......and comes up being about as profound as dog food. And there are the times he tries to be gritty.......and is just plain abrasive. However, most of the book is touching and VERY thought provoking. It's no wonder his book has done so well. From the moral standpoint, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is sadly lacking. None of the authors heros have morals, the world is without hope, even the "good" kids do drugs and sleep around. While even the conservative reader can't help liking Sam, Patrick and Charlie, they also can't help cringing at their standerds. Right or wrong, good or bad. It's simpley doesn't exist. High School is not quite real. It is depicted like something out of a depraved faerie tale: sex, drugs, chain-smoking and the Rocky Horror Picture Show.( I mean, come on, i'm in high school and its NOT like that) (for the most part) So if your looking for a good, interesting, funny, tear-jerking, thought provking read; Youv'e got it. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is perfect for that. But add morality to that list, and you'll have to look someware else.

Summary: A well-written, honest, & revealing work of literature!
Review: I'll keep this short and simple: this is one of the best books I have read in a long time. It's one of those books you read in one sitting. You can't get it out of your mind. The characters are real. The ending is satisfying. Read it today!

Summary: Masterpiece of modern literature
Review: The harder I think, the more I can't put this book into words. It is truly an amazing book and it really gives you a new way of looking at life. This story of one boy's struggle for popularity, academic excellence, and friends is one of the greatest books one could ever read. I just pray that stephen chbosky will continue to write more books, but I highly doubt any other book written could equal this one.
