Review: You ever feel like picking up a book and reading only a few pages here and there just to regain the feeling that you had when you read the book for the first time? That's exactly what has happened with this book. It has become comfort food for me. When I feel a little down or lost I pick it up a and read just a few pages...it's amazing what happens. The novel is addictive, enchanting, heart-wrenching, and beautiful all at the same time. It is one of the best books I have ever read, and will probably stay in my top ten for the rest of my life. I read this book because it was a gift from a friend. Since then, I've passed the book around to all my friends, and they read it. I write each of their names on the inside back cover. The list is growing rapidly. I'm going to run out of room for names. Please buy this book. You will be so happy you did. It has truly impacted my life. Amazing when that happens. Love, Seth
Rating: Summary: it just felt infinite Review: Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower is perhaps the most wonderful story I've ever read. And just to let you know, I read a lot, 7 books in the past nine days. The fact is, that this book is life and more speicifically, it was me, and everything about me. Chbosky's character development through Charlie's letters just made this wonderful humbling impression on me. When I finished this book today, all I could think of was reading this book over, like Charlie does. It was absolutely the best ever, and I strongly suggest you BUY this. It is nearly a bible for anyone who has ever been hurt, ever been in a weird situation ever been in high school or in love. This truly is a masterpiece! Read this book on the perfect night, during the perfect drive, to feel totally infinite and nostalgic, its the best advice I can give anyone.
Rating: Summary: one of the best Review: I read this book for the first time a few weeks ago after wanting to ever since it came out. I was truly amazed. I've read many books about adolescents seeing as how I am one, and I find them interesting. I like to see how well I can relate them to my own life. I'm a girl, and obviously the character in this book is a boy, but, none the less, it's easy to relate to him. The way he captures everything he feels so effetively is one of the things that makes this book so incredible. After reading it, I immediately gave it to my best friend, since I pass on all the good books I read to her. This book can be read in a day or less-that's all it took me. And I'm sure it'll be read again and again before it's put back on the bookshelf for good, if that ever even happens. I advise anyone young or old to read this book because, even if you can't relate, it's still enjoyable in its humor and seriousness alike.
Rating: Summary: Truly beautiful. Review: I bought this book randomly and I was surprised at my selection. It was a book I could not put down, finishing in less than a day (with big breaks of course). With my schedule, that never happens. Steven Chobsky is a gifted writer and his characters are easily relatable to. The moment I finished, I passed it on to a friend who was truly moved. It is a powerful work by a powerful writer.

Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a wonderful book! Ive read it twice within 1 year and it's my favorite. I don't read books often, but when I read this, I loved it. It's probably good for people ages 13 and up. Expecially for highschoolers. Charlie is a great character who makes his life through school, growing up, meeting girls and so on. It seems like you know him from the begining. You don't have to think twice about this book. Go buy it and enjoy!
Rating: Summary: A great book for teens dealing with growing up!! Review: The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is one of the best books I have ever read. It is truthful, honest, and quite entertaining. When I read it my first time, I could not wait to read it again and I read it for my second time in about 2 days, because I just couldn't put it down. Charlie's points of view on the world are quite insightful, in an odd kind of way. Chbosky's format for the book is like none I have ever read before. The reciever of the letters that Charlie is writing is unknown to both the reader and to Charlie. This aspect add intrigue to the story as well as detail because Charlie must explain everything so that whoever "dear friend" is will understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys truth and honesty, and even if u don't, I still recommend it because it is just simply an amazing book.
Rating: Summary: Are you a Wallflower? Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is about Charlie, a pubescent youth who is going through his crazy teen years, while struggling with the recent death of his favorite Aunt Helen and the suicide of his close friend Michael. Although this manuscript is written in letter form one still knows and understands the ideas that are depicted. Throughout the year Charlie feels the need to particpate and be a supporter of the school. Charlie participates by going to football games, parties, and attending the homecoming dance. At one of the football games Charlie meets two seniors, a girl named Sam and a boy named Patrick. He developes a secret crush on Sam. Charlie also finds out at one of the parties that Patrick is gay. Charlie writes letter to his anonymous friend untill the end of the year. He tells his friend all the personal events going on in his life. He writes about his sister false pregnancy, trying marijuana that was mixed in a brownie, using LSD, alcohol, and smoking cigarettes. At the end of the school year Charlie says good bye to his friends and sister who are off to college. The night of graduation there is a party which Charlie is invited to. The party conversation turns to reminiscing. Charlie looks at the insignificant times and realizes they meant the world to him, Charlie promises to himself that he will never forget these adventures. I would recommend The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky to any teenager. I also recommend this book to people who believe that the little things in life count the most. Whether it is getting your first bike or meeting a new friend. The little things can help you prepare for the future. I recommend this book to any teenager that feels that they are just a "Wallflower" and knows deep down they are just as good as anyone else.
Rating: Summary: Change your life, read this book Review: I have now read this book twice in less than a year. I found it only by chance at the library and have since bought it. The story of Charlie a shy freshman is so real and amazing you will have to read it again and again. Everything he does or says you can relate to yourself or someone you know. This is High School! I am currently a senior and I could see myself in Charlie and the other characters in the book. I too over came being a "wallflower" you just have to get active and for those who can't do it alone, this book will help. For me it wasn't just Charlie that affected me but all of the characters. One of my favorites being Patrick, the gay senior that helps change Charlie's outlook on life. The topics in this novel range from growing up to gay bashing to abortions to dealing with death. This book is LIFE and I am a better person for having read it. I can't stress enough the power this book with have over you. You truly will look at life differently and if you don't then you didn't really read it. I think about this book a lot in normal everyday situations. You can learn so much from these characters. You can laugh with them and cry with them, and believe me you will do both. So stop reading these reviews and go get this BOOK! You won't regret it, I swear.
