Rating: Summary: He's the JD Salinger of today... Review: This book was recommended to me by a friend -- which happens frequently. And so I bought it. And read it. In a day. Really. The narrator's a young boy. His life seems tragic, at least complicated, more than complicated. Stephen Chbosky's book, part of the new MTV book series, is so memorable because it is so textured. You can feel the story -- feel as if you're living it -- with his memorable band of characters. Read the book. You'll see.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK Review: This book was a wonderful read. I loved it from cover to cover. If you aren't reminded of your teen years, regardless of how painful or painless, I would be very surprised. Funny and often moving, a must. Reminiscent of "Catcher in the Rye."

Rating: Summary: A beautifully written book for teen- it moved me Review: I am not one to read books, but I could not get my nose out of this one. It's simply "infinate". Myself, being a teen, i found this book interesting and intense. Perfect for any teenage going through rough times. Stephen Chbosky writes beautifully and sends you into the confusing, mixed-up life of Charlie. Through his life of death, sex, drugs, and more, you feel for Charlie and wish to be there for him through all his times of trouble. The word capture you into Charlie's life as a high school boy:"There is a feeling that I had friday night after the homecoming game that I don't know if I will ever be able to describe except to say that it was warm. Sam and Oatrick drove me to the party that night and I sat in the middle of Sam's pickup truck. Sam loves her pickup truck. I think it reminds her of her dad. The feeling I had happened when Sam told Patrick to find a station on the radio. And he kept getting commercials. And commercials. And a really bad song about love that had the word "baby" in it. And then more commercials. And finally he found this really amazing song about this boy, and we all got quiet. Sam tapped her hang on the steering wheel. Patrick held his hand outside the car and made air waves. And I just sat between them. After the song ended I said something. "I feel infinite." And Sam and Patrick looked at me like I sad the greatest thing they ever heard. Because the song was that great and because we really paid attention to it. Five minutes of a lifetime were truly spent, and we felt young in a good way. I have since bought the record, and I would tell you what it was, but truthfully, it's not the same unless you're driving to your first real party, and you're sitting in the middle seat of a pickup truck with two nice people when it starts to rain." The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a book that can help anyone get through times of trouble. A truely amazing book with real life experiences. Stephen Chbosky definately deserves two thumbs up for this one.
Rating: Summary: life in a book Review: when i first read this book ( out of 5 times) i was in love with the character Charlie. He is exactly like me and i can relate to the whole book. That Book taught me and showed me a whole new world of sex drugs and rock and roll and what exactly it can do to a teenager. Everyone teenager needs someone to look up too, and someone to realte too when they think no one is out there. Great book.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower,' a book that anyone can relate to. Chbsoky writes from the perspective of a young, confused teenager. I started reading this book at 10:00 pm and didn't put it down until 1:00 am. I laughed at Charlie's sense of humor and I cried at his sensitivity to the world. In a time when all is crazy and doesn't make sense it is a comfort to me to read something that reminds me I am not the only one experiencing these feelings I have.
Rating: Summary: The perks of being me Review: This almost explains my life to a T. I can feel how charlie felt almost all the time. Only difference is that I'm a girl and charlie's a guy and that doesn't exactly work. But the book was great. I think I'm gonna read it again because it's so good. The poem in the book is awesome too. just a great book.
Rating: Summary: An Infinite Classic Review: Undoubtly a beautiful, touching and real novel. One of the most sincre, honest and true books I've ever read or anyone could ever read about high school. Its beautifully straight-forward, it shows you the absolute pain in life and the utter beauty in simple things. This novel is definitly a novel to make you both laugh and cry. Its got to be one of the most touching and heartwarming stories ever. You will fall in love with Charlie and his story, You will feel infinite.
Rating: Summary: For teens - or anyone with a teenage heart .... Review: I discovered this book via word-of-mouth. After reading numerous raves about it on various teen-related sites, I finally decided to purchase the book. I drove all over town until I found a copy - and was it ever worth the trip. I was hooked from page one when Charlie explains why he is writing anonymous letters to this unnamed (age and gender unknown) person. This book works on many different levels. Some of its story turns are very subtle. What we see is the perspective of a 16 year old boy - what is important to THIS person. These aren't necessarily things that an outsider looking in on his life might deem important. Indeed, Charlie seems to downplay some very major events in his life - but eventually it all comes together and the full picture emerges. The voice here is clear and engaging, funny and smart and heartbreaking. For anyone who understands that being a teenager is not just an age but a state of mind. For anyone who has ever felt infinite ...
