Summary: Yeah, it's a lot like "Catcher." So?
Review: I, too, ran across this book by mistake. I was intrigued by the cover and the title, but hadn't heard of it before. Smiling, because I was checking out a "Young Adult" book, I anxiously took it home and read it in one session. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to anyone--of any age. It's wonderful. It'll make you laugh and cry!

Summary: Well, told...
Review: I just read this book myself. I was so captivated by the story that I ended up reading the whole thing in the span of a day. Some people call it a coming of age story like Catcher in the Rye Well, with in that spirit, maybe. I can't compare this book to Catcher which is one of my Favorite books. Granted, I do think this book has the more thoughtout ending. I give it four stars because, some of the things come at you so fast, without any real preparation for them. I found that some of the issues this book deals with to be a bit vivid and on the money. He just throws them out there without a heads up. Outside of that, it's still a great book.

Summary: The best book I'v ever read
Review: Wow, this book absolutely amazed me. I don't read many books, but me and my sister happened to come across this one, something I'll always be thankful for. No book has ever touched me like this one did. I can't begin to express how much I loved it. Things that Charlie spoke of made me burst out laughing sometimes, other times I was just in total awe of the depth, still others I was amzed at how much he was taking words right out of my mouth, and by the end I could not even continue to read(I was crying too much!). If I would EVER recommned a book to anyone, it's The Perks of Being a Walflower.

Summary: The Perks of Reading this Book
Review: I highly recommend this book to anyone who is into the whole romance scene. I thought this book had a strong sentimental value to it. I often can compare the main character, Charley to myself. He is very sensitive and very emotional to all that is going on around him. The way the character speaks in his journal entries to an unknown person is a beautiful way to express himself about his experiences with love. drugs. sex. and relationships. i recommend you all to read it. it will leave you with a new way of looking at life and you'll realize there is a Charley in all of us.

Summary: Can't get any better
Review: This novel helps readers to look at life from a different angle, and also takes you back in time, to when you were younger. It is an interesting journey through Charlie's world which has many experiences that we can all relate to. This novel was given to me as a gift and oddly enough the story had parts about love relating to events in my life identical to the book. If I could say one thing about this novel it would be that once you start reading it, you won't be able to set it down until you are through.

Summary: A wonderful read!
Review: This is not the most difficult or profound book you will ever read. It is, however, one of those rare titles that remind us of youth and the conflicts that accompany growth. Chbosky's treatment of feelings is particularly interesting, as he delves into love, friendship, fear, etc., and shows how these condense in the mind of a truly wonderful (and at times inspiring) character, Charlie. Finally, the notions of love and friendship portrayed through Charlie are, contrary to what some have written here, true to the typical teenage mind. It is true that teenagers rarely express themselves as openly and honestly as Charlie. This should not be a criticism of Chbosky's work, but rather, an American culture which breeds fear of feelings and expression in boys.

Summary: An accurate, enlightening, and humorous acount!
Review: "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is the most realistic account of growing up I have ever read. Charlie is an observer of everything that goes on around him, but rarely observes himself and his emotional past. Charlie's life story starts to leak out of the pages, and the book will keep you interested. Please, read this book! It's worth every penny. Plain and simple.

Summary: thought about giving it 5 stars, but...
Review: ...need to give it some time. But it's an awfully good book. Sure, the kid is idiotically hyper-sensitive, but it's still a haunting and amazing look at the outcasts of high school society. I've been on both sides of that, and this is pretty dead on. read Notes from Underground next. Think Chbosky read that? You bet.

Summary: Perks of Being A Wallflower Captures Being Young
Review: Stephen Chbosky's Perks of being a Wallflower is a timeless book on how hard it is growing up.
Set in 1991 as a set of streaming letters from a boy named Charlie, the books style is unique and evokes a true sense of what being a teenager is like. After the death of hisbest friend Charlie is wandering through life and highschool. He stumbles into the life a girl named Sam and her brother Patrick and together they paint the chaotic, stressful and lovelife that is teenagers.
Never before have I seen a book come so close to real life; I give The Perks of Being A Wallflower five stars.

Summary: There are no perks of being a wallflower
Review: The Perks of Being A Wallflower was truly an excruciating read at 213 pages. ...This book is too long with no kind of literary theme or plot structure. The author should've used foreshadowing, so the readers could be drawn into the story. It is no wonder I could not find this novel in local bookstores. My advice is to avoid this book unless you are into extreme boredom.
