Summary: boring and hard to understand
Review: i read this book and i know that a lot of people ive spoken to have loved it but i could not grasp the meaning of the entire thing. it seemed dull, and very unrealistic. i thought charlie was mentally disabled for the majority of the book until the end when it is explained. i didn't like the ending either. i thought it was rather cliche and expected. this book just did not do it for me, but i can see where people would enjoy it. if you want to read a slightly more 2002-ish novel on growing up, this would be a good choice. otherwise i recommend you pass it by.

Summary: this was an awesome book
Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chboskey has become one of my favorite books yet. As you read the book, you will find that the protagonist, Charlie, a shy and lonely 15 year-old boy, is very likeable and easy to relate to. His stories of a year in the life of a high school reject really come to life as you start to read the letters he begins to write to an unknown person when he is scared of starting his freshman year. During the story, you the reader take on the role of the person Charlie is writing letters to. It feels as though Charlie is telling you all of his problems. This book relates completely to the real world that the average teenager goes through, and it makes you feel as though someone is going through all the same dating issues, or school issues, or drug issues as you are.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would recommend everyone to read it. It will really change the way you perceive things and how you see the people around you. In the book Charlie seems to view the world from a neutral point of view. He observes everyone around him and is always putting everyone else's problems before his. "I walk around the school hallways and look at the people. I look at the teachers and wonder why they're here..."page 68.What I really got out of The Perks of Being a Wallflower is that sometimes in life you have to stop watching and analyzing everything around you and just let yourself be a part of it. I encourage you to read along to Charlie's adventures as he learns this and other lessons, and finds out how hard being a teenager really is.

Summary: the purity of filth and goodness through eyes of confusion
Review: read it and you will understand why to live life. Do as charlies does, read what charlie reads and listen to what he listens. This is one of most magnificent pieces of art I have ever viewed. The innocence and adulthood behaviors mix to form this genius idiotic character and it makes it a beautiful mess.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I absolutely loved this book!
I must pre-face my comments with the fact that the author and I attended the same high school, but everyone that I have loaned the book to loved it as well. It literally took me back in time. As a person who works with adolescents on a professional level, I know that this book would be a valuable teaching tool for today's young people. It touches on so many important issues.
I loved the letter format of the book; it somehow makes Charlie more real. Don't miss this one!

Summary: Exprience
Review: The words liguify and seep into your soul, the essense of Charlie is truth clawing at your back. You cannot not be moved by this book, the simplicity of his soul and complications of society and outside world press and etch his future. Charlie is Us the small innoucous child that is curious, scared, and unprepared for the raw truth that lurks at the ignored corner of our mind.

Summary: My fav. book yet, a kick ass book
Review: This is my favorite book yet. The Perks of Being a Wallflower was about a lonely, shy boy, Charlie. The book is written in letters to a friend that he does not know and visaversa. But as the reader, the reader takes on this role as the "Dear Friend." I, the reader, became the one Charlie was writing these letters to. It felt like he was telling ME his issues. The book relates completely to the real world that the average teenager goes through. It is filled with quotes that you can cary with you and remember for a life time. It makes you feel like you have someone that is going through the same dating issues as you, or school issues, or drug issues, etc...
Read this book, i promise you that it will change your life. It will make you realize things youve never thought of. It will make you want to improve yourself. The book was amazing, as was the author. Just read it guys, if ya know whats good for ya. The book was kick ass.

Summary: Captivating, Life-Changing Book
Review: This book is without question the best book I've ever read. And I'm sure it won't go down as one of the best books of our time, but that's okay, because that's not why it was written. What makes this book so amazing is that I connected with it on such an utterly profound level. I stumbled across this book by accident, bought it, brought it home, started reading it, and literally did not move until I finished it. It was that good. It's hard to say who this book will appeal to, but I think it has a lot more to do with what you've been through in life than what type of books you usually like. My suggestion is to read this book-- it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

Summary: this is the best book in the world
Review: I cannot say enough about this book. I have read it 5 times and I love it more every time. I would recommend it to anyone who likes teen books and has good taste. (he he he) I really think this is the best book that I have read in my whole life. It changed me for the better.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not Too Perky
Review: I gave, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, a rating of three stars. For me, the story line was not captivating. However, my curiousity reguarding the characters and how they handled the problems they encountered, would bring me back to the book. This book was composed of a series of letters written by the main character, Charlie, to a person who remained completely anonymous . The letters reflected Charlie's feelings during different situations he was faced with. Throughout the course of Charlie's freshman year in high school, he deals with problems such as suicide, drugs and alcohol, 1st crush, teenage pregnancy, sexual abuse, problems with life at home, and personal insecurities, such as fitting in at school and feeling accepted. The characters in this book are really easy to identify with because they deal with problems almost every teenager can relate to during some point in their high school career. I would recommend this book to teenagers because I think they would be able to appreciate it the most and would most likely find it comforting to know that they are not alone in the problems they face.
