Review: This book is about the life, family and friends of a boy names Charlie. Charlie writes letters about everyday things that he encounters.Sex, Drugs, family issues and being the youngest child. He has 2 other siblings, and an aunt that lives with them. He is very close to his aunt because he feels that she understand him, however she dies in a car accident. Charlie later befriends two classmates Patrick and Sam.Charlie loves being with his friends, he eventually falls in love with Sam. Charlie and his friends share everything.
I enjoyed this book, because I felt that it is very realistic, the issues and concerns that Charlie faced each day, are some of the same issues that we face each day.

Review: I have enjoyed the Perks of Being a Wallflower very much. The reason that I enjoyed it so was that it was believable. This is a "coming of age" story... about a boy on the cusp of manhood, with his surge of hormones and emotions driving him to the brink of insanity. It is a crude, unrefined glimpse into the mind of a mal-adjusted modern youth.You can relate to his situations but can at the same time be repulsed by his indecencey. He seems to develope an almost cynical view of the world as if his pure canvas of life was not just being painted upon, but soiled by the cruel realities of life. Every teen can relate to the feeling of not belonging at least to some extent. There is so much change so quickly at that age... some experience these changes with different consistency, intensity, and outcome.but it is essential in molding a person into who he or she is to ultimately become.It is a time of inner battles driven by environment, morality, and innate desires unlike experiences later in life, each experience in these years leave marks much like those in still wet cement.

Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower was a decent book, but I think it was kind of over rated by the other reviewers because it didn't change my outlook on life but it kept me entertained during the time I read it. Charlie was a good character because he is actually believable. Some of the things he does, and the things he deals with can be related to by normal teenagers. I like that this book is realistic as well as imaginative. I like the fact that the characters smoked and drank because i can relate to things like that and it seems realistic, and shows peoples flaws.

Charlie's only friend, Michael, commits suicide, leaving Charlie very alone. One night at a school football game he meets two people, Patrick and Sam. They become best friends and do everything together. Charlie is secretly in love with Sam, at the end of the book you're in for a surprise! On Charlie's seventh birthday his Aunt Helen died, it seemed to him that she was the only person in the family that actually loved him. Life is tough for him in the beginning of the book, but it shows how the power of friendship and love can change who you are.

This is an interesting story about Charlie's first year in high school. Charlie's family and friends are very realistic characters. Charlie on the other hand, is partly realistic. He has unrealistic qualities such as he cries way too much for a sixteen year old boy, and it seems unrealistic how so many bad things have happened to him. Otherwise, he is a very realistic boy, Stephen Chbosky tells the story with very careful detail. I liked how the author told about the parties Charlie attended. I also liked how he told about Charlie and Mary Elizabeth going out, when Charlie what put down the phone and use the bathroom and come back and Mary Elizabeth is still talking. I can really imagine a teenage boy doing that! This is a wonderful story!

I would recommend this book to teenagers, especially ones who have experienced the loss of a loved one, or someone that is having a hard time fitting in. This is a very inspirational novel.

Review: To tell you the truth, I have never read such a wonderful book. I looked at it this way, what Charlie was writing, is a lot of what I am feeling. After this book, I sat there and cried... it made me feel so different, my outlook on life was completely changed. I know everyone can't feel that way about certain books, but this book did. I read 'The Perks of being a Wallflower' in such a short time, but I felt like I was living the book. After reading the book, I listened to The Smiths' song "Asleep." I had never felt so happy and sad at the same time. This book is a definite read.. I reccomend it to anyone and everyone.

Review: I thought this book was just really charming, the kind of book that makes one look at life with a new perspective. The characters are all so different, but they all bring out the best in each other; it's the way a group of friends should be. Charlie's letters are written with such honesty and grace; he is intelligent and observant, but naive all at once. I found myself trying to read just a few pages at a time because I did not want it to end. "I feel infinite" is an absolutely perfect way to put into words the feeling this book evokes. One of my favorites.

Summary: DISAPPOINTING.
Review: Personally, I was disappointed. Based on the great reviews this book is getting on Amazon, I assumed it would have a lot to offer. I found Charlie flat and somewhat one-dimentional. Chbosky's attempts to build a character based on lists of his favouriute books and songs just don't cut it for me. Nor did the ending evoke any feelings of pathos- I found it to be a cheap trick by the writer to try and make his story moving and touching with the ending he wrote for TPOBAW. I will credit him that the letter-format added a personal touch but this was annihilated because I could not become close to a character when all the time the protagonist showed through so clearly Chbosky's attempts to build him into something deep, causing him to come across as shallow -quite the opposite.
I'm sure this book does have something to offer because so many reviewers have raved about it but in my opinion this book left me empty and dissatisfied.

Summary: Changed my views
Review: Wow is all i have to say after readin this book. It left me saddened, it left me happy, it left all my emotions exposed. It was a truly wonderful piece of literature. It has changed my views on many different things in this world, and i've started to see things a little bit more like charlie. This book lets you under the world of a highschool student going through changes and everything which your average adolescent does, the author gives you enough imformation about charlie to love the book, but leaves some distance which leaves gap for questions and mysteriousness. Overall this was a great book, i couldn't put it down. So simply, yet beautifully written, all my praises to this book, it is one of my favorites, and has really changed the way i see things.

Summary: Sometimes They Just Have to Grow Up!
Review: Oh man! Charlie has forever changed how I think and feel about life, in general. He is the most charming, sweet adolescent character you will ever meet in any book, and he becomes a part of your own personality at the end. Once I picked this book up, I would read and read. And to tell you the truth, I would have never read it if it weren't for my Sophomore English teacher. But once I started, I ended the entire book in one day! It's engaging, emotional, heartfelt, and real! And Charlie, being as young as he is, seems older and older as the pages progress. And by the end, not only as Charlie learned something, but the reader has as well. BEAUTIFUL READ!

Review: An excellent book that really captures the audience and shows what it is like to be a teenager on the edge of being an adult. Through the letters to an unknown friend, we learn all the trials and experiences Charlie must go through in order to become a grown man. Charlie is indeed a wallflower, which is said to be someone who sees things, keeps quiet about them, and understands. From meeting a homosexual friend, smoking cigarettes, falling in love for the first time, and having a couple breakdowns, we reminisce in how it is to be a teenager in high school. Through this book you can relate your own life's similarities and differences. It is a book that makes it so you can't put it down, and kept me reading for hours on end.
