Summary: not Cooney's best
Review: I have to admit, I am a huge fan of Caroline B. Cooney. Her 'Losing Christina' series kept me in suspense the entire time and I couldn't stop reading 'the face on the milk carton.' However, this book did not add up. I really enjoyed the way it was told from different people's point of view and how the story took place over the course of a few hours but the characters were without emotion and unbelievable.

First off, Elisabeth, the eight-year-old sister of Beau drove me crazy. Her brother had just died in a fire and she was asking her mom for a kitton. I know we're supposed to feel sorry for her because her mom doesn't care about her but the entire time I wanted to erase her from the book entirely.

Also, when Danna had her leg broken from a horse stepping on it, all she could say for herself was "nice going" to the horse.

Beau and his mom were entirely self absorbed and I din't feel sorry for them either.

The best part of this book was when the little brushfire turned into a huge fire but after that it got pretty slow. I spent about two weeks without reading it before I realized that I had to give it back to the library and finished it.

I would recommend this book if you don't mind wooden characters and the same thing being repeated billions of times from different people's point of view.

Summary: Flash Fire
Review: I loved this book! At the begining it was sort of confusing because the author is telling you about so many characters! But once you get into the book you can't put it down! I reccomend this book to 4th and 5th graders! I hope you read it!

Summary: Great!
Review: I loved this book! I liked how it showed the same conflict, but from many different people's perpectives. It made the story more real. Caroline also described it wonderfully. I've read it twice, and both times I could have sworne that I smelt smoke! So if you like action, adventure, and kinda sad stories, this is the book for you!

Summary: It is a good book
Review: I read the book the Flash Fire and it is a very good book because it has really neat things about it. There are two things I love about this book, one is when the brush fire started out as a small fire and it got bigger and someone that was a fire fighter saved many lives that day. There were some people that died that day and they died because they were in their house and the house fell to the ground and burned. The next best part was the grass canyon road were a car had an accident, and the ropes saved many lives. I recommend you to read this book someday because someday and someone might save your life.

Summary: A reader from Atlanta
Review: I think that this book was ok, but it was not the best book I ever read. I like the different characters in the story but they were not totally believeable. The author did not give us a complete picture of the important details. Overall I would not recommend this book to my friend.

Summary: A 3-star book
Review: I thought that this book was boring to begin with but as I got more into the book it started to get more intersting. I thought there were too many characters like many of the reviewers said and that at some points it was hard to follow. All though in this book unlike some other books they did a good job on telling you the setting and the time of where this chapter is taking place. I also agreed with another reviewer on the fact that since there were too many charaters, there would be a chapter about him and then you wouldnt here anything from them until another 5-6 chapters. I have never read any Caroline B. Cooney books before but from what other people have said this isnt as good as some of her earlier ones. My personal opinion though it wasnt that bad of a book but if you are going to read it you have to have patience, it starts out slow.

Summary: Suspenseful And Page-Turning
Review: If you like books that are suspenseful and page-turning this is definitly the book for you. Caroline B. Cooney is a terrific author. She really gets you caught up in the story. Flash Fire has so much suspense. The book only takes place in about an hour and a half in many diffent places, but most of all at Pinch Canyon , but sure enough, lots of stuff happens that you wouldn't really think would happen because the people keep saying that's not going to happen. I really got into the characters and was able to picture really what was going on in the book.

In the book several major things happen and sometimes you really get mad at some of the characters.(Like I got made at Beau.) You can really feel the intensity. So when Pinch Canyon is on fire, the question still awaits, who can escape from the fire?

Read the book to see if they make it down the mountain...or not? It was definitly a five star rating and one of my favorite books!
