Rating: Summary: GREAT Review: I thought this was a very good book. It is an adventurous story. Missing Pieces is a book I will never forget.
Rating: Summary: It was very interesting and a good read. Review: It was a very catching book, I only put it down when I had to.
Rating: Summary: I recommend it for any teenager who enjoys to read. Review: Jessie Wells was a fourteen-year-old girl who is searching for her father who left her when she was a baby. It was very difficult for Jessie to maintain a "normal" teenage life and look for her father. I think she was a very strong girl considering what she went through and what she did to achieve her dream to find her father. She went through a lot emotionally. And in the midst of this, she meets a guy who stood by her through it all. The only problem was that the guy was her best friend's crush. Jessie and her boyfriend do end up finding her father. It wasn't the reunion she had hoped for though. There was nothing about this book that I did not like. It was an excellent story with a great meaning. If you want something bad enough, don't ever give up.
Rating: Summary: Pieces MIssing Review: Jessie's story, told in the book Missing Pieces, is awesome! The beginning of the book starts with Jessie's mother, Maribeth, telling a young Jessie of the child's life story. Jessie's father, James, left Jessie and her mom went she was little. Jessie now a teenager, is searching for the missing pieces in her life concerning her father. Along the way of searching, Jessie has troubles with school, friends, and her family, like all the problems any other teen has to deal with. The ending, I am not quite sure I like. It ends with an unexpected ending, that is more real life then the happy ending of most books. My favorite character was Aunt Zis. Zis was an old, forgetful women who helped Jessie with some of her problems. The author, Norma Fox Mazer, did a great job of portraying a teens struggles and problems. Missing Pieces is mainly a drama, but is romantic and sad at times. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and give it a must read for teen girls!
Rating: Summary: A fourteen year old girl learns about her true feelings. Review: Missing Pieces was a good book overall. Norma Fox Mazer did a wonderful job describing real-life scenarios that many children experience. I recommend this book to children who can relate to the many feelings kids of one parent families feel. The book addresses many feelings and situations that are very real to today's teenager. One thing I did notice, however, was that throughout the story, Jessie seemed to be doing the same thing over and over again. Actually, that took away from the story. I found the story enjoyable enough to keep me turning the pages, but it didn't have cliffhangers or some other elements I like to find in stories.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down!!!! Review: Norma Fox Mazer is a very good author!! I really liked the theme of this book. Overall it was very nicely written!!! I wish that there was a sequel to this book!!! : )
Rating: Summary: Missing Pieces Review: This book is a bout a 14 year old girl name Jesse Welles and she lives with her mom and her aunt Vis. Her father James Welles had abandoned her and her mother when Jesse was only a few months old. They don't know why he left but he never came back. Jesse is trying to find her father, so she looks in the phone books for the last names Welles. Then she found a Dennis Welles which lived in Myrtle and she finds out Dennis is her father's cousin. Later Jesse and her mother gets into an argument because her mother doesn't want Jesse to find her father then get hurt just like she did. But Jesse didn't listen to her mom she went off to Myrtle with a boy name Jack Kettle who's Mary beth's crush. Jesse never found her father though but if she had she wanted to tell him who she was and who's she's grown up to be without him in her life.
I think this book was good because it tells how she's going through without her dad and stuff it's really sad but interesting.
Rating: Summary: Missing Pieces found Review: This was my first NFM book, and it made me a fan of her other stories as well. It's about a strong teenage girl named Jessie who was searching for her father that abandoned her family years ago. She had a mostly good life otherwise- a loving mother, aunt, friends, and a boyfriend- but she was missing that one important person. This problem affected her other relationships, for better or worse. I liked the book, except for two problems. First, Jessie went steady with her best friend's crush. I really felt for Meadow on that one. Second, the eventual reunion between her and her father wasn't as I'd expected. But everybody makes mistakes, and we know she'll find her dad again. Overall, I reccomend this book to other teenagers who love to read.
