Summary: Wow! A terrific old fashioned read-aloud!
Review: My son and I shared this as his bedtime book, and it was truly satisfying. Reminded us of the adventures of the Railway and Boxcar children, but this is on a more sophisticated level. We appreciated the attention to friends' differences, the willingness to not only tolerate but to work at getting along with others whose opinions might differ from one's own, the tenderness for the mentally ill, and the importance of the sharing of our stories.
