Rating: Summary: Tune in anytime Review: A teenage girl named Sophie Olivette faces a hard time dealing with her parents. Her father Daniel Olivette, wants to divorce with Sophies mother. This becomes a major problem and the family falls apart. Sophie and her older sister who is in college complains and dislikes their very own father very much. This dissapoints Daniel but Sopie's mother does not do anything about this situation. She just wanted Daniel who was once her husband to be happy once again! To be honest, I acually really didn't like his syory! There were one to many boring parts that did not catch my interest. All this book talked about was how horrible the divorce was and the so many difficult problems they faced. What I did like about this book was that there were some pretty funny parts. My favorite part of this book was when Sophie's mother didn't do anything about the divorce. This shows that her mother really wanted her x-husband to be happy and live a great life. Although this bugged her 2 daughter, she was patient and didn't argue. I thought that this was probably the most upseting time for Mrs. Olivette but she wanted the best for Daniel, who was once her husband and for him to live a joyful life!
Rating: Summary: How to Wreak Vengeance with a Bulldozer Review: Caroline B. Cooney's Tune in Anytime was an interesting look at two families. Primarily the story dealt with the unraveling of the ties that bind the dysfunctional Olivette family together. Edith, the mother, made "finding herself" a full time job. The oldest daughter, Marley, was self-centered and constantly ranting and raving. Daniel, the father, fell head-over-heels in lust with Marley's college roommate, Persia. The only person acting like a responsible adult was the youngest daughter, Sophie. Sophie felt like her life had turned into a soap opera. The author provided a solid and ordinary family to compare with the Olivettes. Ted and his family were very down-to-earth people. The parents acted like adults and they were caring and respectful of one another.
Tune in Anytime described some outlandish events. However, I felt like the characters and events could have been real. In my mind, I could imagine the evening news describing the final scene. I almost dropped the book because I was laughing so hard.
I would recommend Tune in Anytime to all young adults, but especially to anyone who is dealing with divorce. Children going through a divorce will be able to relate to Sophie's feeling that she was the only person in her family who was still a family. Everyone else was single. Karen Woodworth-Roman

Rating: Summary: Disappointment Review: I hated this book. I usually love books and finish every one in less than 3 day but this book was just horrible. It took me over 2 months to read it. I kept hoping it would get better but it didnt. Nothing ever happens. In the whole book people have pointless conversations and thoughts. The ending was stupid... very horrible and not realistic at all. I wouldnt recommend this book to anyone. Save your money for something better.
Rating: Summary: Awsome! Review: I have literally read every book Caroline B. Cooney has written and for some reason I put off reading this book. I am not the soap opera type and thought there was no way I would like the book. Boy was I wrong! I finally decided to read it and fell in love with this book! It is really an amazing story. The emotion throughout the whole story is so intense you feel like your in the book! The characters give off a quality that you are still laughing and thinking about weeks later. I found myself taking quotes from the book and using them in conversations. I told every one of my friends to read it and loaned it to everyone I know. This is a really great book!
Rating: Summary: OK Review: I thought that the book Tune in Anytime was ok. Some of the good things about it were that the book was filled with emotion. I loved how Sophie and Marley would overreact because that's how normal people would respond with everything that was going on. It made it funny because everyone else in the book was completely calm. I also like how before each chapter Sophie would compare her life to a soap opera. I didn't like how the characters said the same things over and over. The book went really slow, even though it had a great plotline, it got boring a lot of the time. I would recommend this book, but be prepared to skip some pages because they repeat everything
Rating: Summary: OK Review: I thought that the book Tune in Anytime was ok. Some of the good things about it were that the book was filled with emotion. The characters each had a great description and it was clearly shown with each of their lines. There is the dad who is divorcing his wife just to marry a nineteen-yr. old girl who is the college roommate of his oldest daughter, Marley. The mom who is to busy worrying about her soul and getting in touch with her inner self to care. Marley who is whining about everything and falling in love with a doctor at the some time. Then there's Sophie who is in the middle of all this, and is trying to work out a relationship of her own. You start to feel like you're in the book, and start to like some characters more than others. I loved how Sophie and Marley would overreact because that's how normal teenage girls would respond with everything that was going on. It made it funny because everyone else in the book was completely calm. The plotline was great and so was the conflict. Even with Sophie's family slowly falling apart, there was still a love story mixed in. I also like how before each chapter, Sophie would compare her life to a soap opera because that's how her life was going. I didn't like how the characters said the same things over and over. The book went really slow, even though it had a great plotline, it got boring a lot of the time. It was hard for me not to skip half the book because it was boring and everything was repeated. I also thought that the ending was very predictable, and the author mixed in completely unnecessary things. I would recommend this book, but be prepared to skip some pages because they repeat everything.
Rating: Summary: ive read better Review: i was disapointed with this book. i LUV caroline b.cooney and most of her other books, but this one just wasnt interestin.all u read about was this girls mom who had a rock fetish and is crazy and her dad who marries a 21 yr old. wow. nothing else happens. the plot is too.... blunt. no twists and turns like her other books. i could summarize the book in a sentence. cooney writes the book in the form of a soap opera kind of, but the only difference is that soap operas are interesting--something this book is far from. if ur not gonna take my advice and not read the book, AT LEAST get it from ur library. i DO recommend cooney's other books such as the MILK CARTON series, TWINS, and 20 PAGEANTS LATER. there r more so check them out. this one just didnt cut it.
Rating: Summary: Another great book from CBC. Review: I was laughing before I finished the first page. Sophie's reactions to the shambles her life becomes are just hilarious. I wanted to do pretty much the same thing when my parents got divorced. Ms. Cooney is a very talented author.
