Rating: Summary: It's okay Review: The book was okay, I got angry at the way Elizabeth was being treated. Todd, Enid, and Jessica all completely dumped Liz to become popular, and if you read farther in the series will all get what they deserve. One character I felt kind of guilty for like was Celine, Liz's roommate. She treated Liz as bad as the others, if not worse, but it was a lot more humorous. Celine is such a witch, if they make a series I would like to play her.
Rating: Summary: The Sweet Valley High Gang upgraded Review: The twins are finally in college. Everyone has an idea about where their life is going to go, well except Elizabeth. Enid, Todd and Jessica's characters begin to mutate from their doctor Jeckyl High school personas to campus Mr. Hydes.
Enid: (Now Alexandra...Why do Elizabeth's friends keep doing that to her?) who is determined to not be the "Robin" to Elizabeth's Batman.
Jessica: still shallow, ready to be a sophisticated college woman. You'll notice every other page she catches a glimpse of the most handsome man that she's ever seen in her life. That handsome gauge must be reaching epic proportions. She's determined not to let Elizabeth boss her around anymore and goes around spitting out her usual barrage of hurtful, thoughtless comments.
Todd: Now a big superjock with an ego as big as Bruce Patman's in Sweet Valley High.
The funny thing about this book is that everyone seems to think they've outgrown Elizabeth. So from what I can tell, they go around treating her like crap. All in all, I thought Elizabeth's loneliness and feelings of dislocation were well described.
This book also introduces some intriguing new characters. There's Tom Watts, Elizabeth's new love interest and I always thought he was more interesting than Todd. There's William White, Danny, Isabella and Denise, and Celine Bordreaux.
Rating: Summary: Sweet Valley University #1: College Girls Review: The Wakefield twins are now 18 and moving out of their house to take residence at Dickenson Hall on the Sweet Valley University campus. For the five Sweet Valley High graduates (Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield, Todd Wilkins, Enid Rollins, and Winston Egbert), college is a whole new world filled with endless possibilities. But for Elizabeth, it means disappointment and abandonment. First, her twin sister, Jessica, moves out of their dorm to become roommates with a rich, popular sophomore (Isabella Ricci), who is basically a replacement for Lila Fowler, Jessica's high school friend. Then Elizabeth's boyfriend, Todd, starts pressuring her to put out or else. And to top it off, her best friend, Enid (aka Alexandra), doesn't want anything to do with her because of her new image. Then there's Winston, who's stuck in an all-female dorm because of a computer mistake that has him listed as Winnie instead of Winston. For most guys, this would be a dream come true, but for Winston, it's a total embarrassment and a major problem since he's trying to impress the Sigmas (a fraternity), and he can't do that with a dorm full of girls calling him Winnie and basically humiliating him. During the whole process of registration and moving in, more than a few students develop mad crushes on each other. Jessica, for one, stirs things up by dating a black student (Danny Wyatt) who has one too many enemies; and then she falls for another guy (Michael McAlley) who she meets by crashing into the back of his sports car. Next to fall in love is Enid/Alexandra, who ends up "sleeping" with the guy she's just met. And then there's Elizabeth, who is secretly being watched by an admirer. "College Girls" is the first book in yet another Sweet Valley series: Sweet Valley University. About a handful of the old Sweet Valley crew make appearances, such as Bruce Patman, Steve (the twins' older brother), and Lisa Fowler, but it looks like this series will mainly spotlight Elizabeth, Jessica, Enid, Todd, and Winston. (...) Recommended for Sweet Valley fans.
Rating: Summary: Life's little pleasures.............. Review: This book begins a new life for each of the characters. I've read the Sweet Valley High series and one thing I've noticed is that all the characters change in some way or the other. The book has it's light moments and solemn moments. Because there are so many characters with different personalities almost anyone can relate to the book. Another thing is that even the most superficial characters feel the full impact of life. And the story is captivating without unecessary details. Every incident has a purpose and it isn't one of those books where you know that the character/characters is/are going to live happily ever after, it keeps on going in the way life goes on. I recommend this book along with the other books in the series. But anyone who reads this book will find themselves wanting to read the next one and the next one and the next..........................
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This book is excellent and realistic! Elizabeth Wakefield is excited about going to college. But once she gets there her life turns upside down. I'm not gonna tell you how, but it has to do with very important things. Jessica Wakefield falls in love with Michael McAllery, but everyone else thinks he's trouble. But Jessica wants Mike no matter what. Enid Rollins changes her name to Alexandra Rollins, and has a whole new attitude. Todd Wilkins wants to take his relationship with Elizabeth to the next step, but Elizabeth's not ready. Meanwhile, Tom Watts develops a major crush on Elizabeth, but is too shy to say so. Winston Egbert is stuck in an all female dorm. He wants to prove his manliness, but instead he's in a whole new position. This is a great book!
Rating: Summary: I really enjoyed this book Review: This book was really good. I couldn't put it down. If you're like me, sometimes in a series, you read some numbers before the first one. For me, this book really explained a lot about the plot. If you like mystery, comedy, and Sweet Valley books, this is definitely the one to read.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: This is a great book! Elizabeth Wakefield is excited about going to college. Until her world turns upside down. Todd WIlkins loves Elizabeth, but he wants to take the next step in their relationship, but she's not ready. Jessica Wakefield is in love with Michael McAllery. He's perfect, but everyone says he's bad news. But she doesn't care what anyone thinks. She'll have Mike no matter what. zEnid Rollins has changed herself. She's now Alexanra Rollins, she has a new attitude, and wants a new reputation. Elizabeth and Todd's relationship changes. I love Todd Wilkins is the sweetest gujy. Todd is sweet and caring. In this series, though, Tom Watts seems to act his role. Todd Wilkins and Tom Watts fight a lot. I like them both, Todd Wilkins is sweeter though. Todd is a wodnerful guy and I really love Todd Wilkins's personaltiy. I miss Todd. He was so romantic. William White stalks Elizabeth, but his admiring her is way beyond normal. So it's a love triangle between Elizabeth who is loved by Todd, Tom, and William. I wish Elizabeth stayed with Todd. Elizabeth and Todd are my favorite characters. Winston Egbert, meanwhile, is stuck in an all female dorm. Jessica Wakefield is still going afetr Michael McAllery. This book is great!
