Rating: Summary: I never imagined college life would be so sad for Elizabeth. Review: I WAS CRUSHED WHEN ELIZABETH WAKEFIELD'S WORLD TURNED AGAINST HER WITHOUT ANY REASON AT ALL. SHE LOST TODD BECAUSE OF A STUPID SEX DESIRE HE HAD TOWARD HER TO PROOVE HIS "MANHOOD" WITH HER AND CHEATED HER WITH ANOTHER GIRL. ENID ROLLINS, NOW FABOULOUS ALEXANDRA FORGOT THE BEST UNCONDITIONAL FRIEND SHE HAD NOW TO FOLLOW JESSICA THE VILLAINESS OF THE SERIES AS USUAL. HER ROOMMATE, CELINE BOUDREAX, MADE ME FEEL SICK. HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH SOMEONE AS DIRTY AND UNCONSIDERATE AS HER. ELIZABETH WAS RIGHT TO PUT HER RULES ON AND MAKE CELINE OBEY THEM ALTHOUGH SHE NEVER DID, BUT ELIZABETH KEPT HER DIGNITY. HOW CAN SOMEONE AS UNSELFISH AND HONORABLE AS ELIZABETH END UP ALL ALONE WHEN ALL SHE DID IN LIFE WAS TO DO THINGS FOR OTHERS, ESPECIALLY JESSICA. JESSICA DOENS'T DESERVE ELIZABETH, SHE IS THE ONE WHO MUST HAVE ENDED UP HELPLESS AND HOPELESS, NOT ELIZABETH. I WAS VERY ANGRY WHEN JESSICA, WHO ALWAYS GETS WHAT SHE WANTS, ENDED UP HAPPY WHEN IT IS ALWAYS HER WHO CAUSES TROUBLE AND ELIZABETH ALWAYS THE ONE WHO IS THERE TO SUPPORT AND SHARE WITH OTHERS. IT IS THE SADDEST, MOST PITIFUL BOOK I EVER READ ABOUT THE WAKEFIELD TWINS, I FELT SO SORRY FOR ELIZABETH, AND EX-TRE-ME-LY ANGRY AT TODD, JESSICA, CELINE, AND ENID. I'M SORRY, ALEXANDRA. THIS BOOK WAS VERY WELL WRITTEN, BUT IT GREATLY DISCOURAGED ME FROM READING OTHER SWEET VALLEY UNIVERSITY BOOKS. I AM VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS SERIES AND YET NOT FOUND ANOTHER ONE I HAVE LIKED. IT WAS SO INTRIGUING TO ME THOUGH THAT I READ IT IN ONLY ONE DAY. IT GAVE ME A GREATER GLIMPSE OF HOW SAD COLLEGE LIFE CAN BE IF YOU ARE DETERMINED TO LIVE THERE, WORK THERE, DO THINGS THE RIGHT WAY AND LIVING WITH THE FACT THAT NOBODY WILL EVER LIKE YOU FOR BEING STUDIOUS, RESPOSIBLE, MORAL, HONEST, AND TRUTHFUL WITHOUT BEING ABANDONED, BETRAYED, AND IGNORED AND STILL BE DETERMINED TO BE JUST YOU AND LIVE UP TO YOUR STANDARDS JUST LIKE ELIZABETH DID. !HOORAY FOR ELIZABETH! BOO! FOR THE REST OF THE SWEET VALLEY HIGH, NOW UNIVERSITY GANG, BUT MOST OF ALL FOR TODD AND ENID. ABOVE ALL, JESSICA, THE WORLD'S MOST UNGRATEFUL, CONVINNING, SELF-CENTERED, SELF-INTERESTED, UNCONSIDERATE, IMMORAL, AND FIRST ME, THEN ME, LAST PLACE ME, AND ALWAYS ME-FIRST (TWIN) SISTER AND INDIVIDUAL
Rating: Summary: what are other readers' problems! Review: i'm sorry, other readers, but this was a good book! not the best in the series, but still 5 stars! first of all, liz DOES find a new bff after alex (oh, sorry, ENID!) joins the thetas. nina is just as serious as she is, but still a lot of fun, and actually interesting, unlike enid. and ALEX is interesting, too! and for all you todd fans, don't feel sad that they broke up, it was HIS fault that they broke up, and if he's so sex-crazed he doesn't deserve her anyway! and yes, celine is a witch, and so is alison, but that's part of the plot! i repeat, this isn't the best book in the series by any means (i LOVE svu! ) but it's sure better than some other people made out! it's the introduction to the series, not a newberry award nominee!
Rating: Summary: finally a cure for the common sweet valley superficialness! Review: I've got to hand it to the creator. SVU was the best books she has put out. SVH's are in the past, and we have stepped into the world of SVU. Keep it up! Read this book!
Rating: Summary: They are older, mature, and better than ever!! Review: If you are like me and have been with Elizabeth and Jessica and the rest of the gang since the "Sweet Valley Kids" series, you will be glad that they are growing up. I'm 16 and was afraid after the "highschool" series I would have to stop reading them for fear they would be too childish for someone in their teens. I discovered Sweet Valley University several years ago and am happy I did as you read into the series I discovered these are mature and Fun books to read! The problems seem so real. If you like the Sweet Valley series, but they are getting too "imature" for you try Sweet Valley University. WARNING: Don't skip around in the series because every book is a be continued. . . type of book. A friend found out that if you skip around it takes up practicaly the whole book to catch up!! I hope you like the "University" series as much as I do.
Rating: Summary: College Time! Review: Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield are psyched to start college. Of course, Jessica gets asked out by practically every guy on campus, while Elizabeth loses Todd Wilkins, her boyfriend since high school. I have grown up with the Sweet Valley crew, from second grade to seventh grade to senior year, and the university series is incredible! These books are so great, I highly reccomend them to anyone over twelve or thirteen. Excellent!
Rating: Summary: College is a breeze -- uh, yeah, right! Review: Jessica is getting attention from just about every guy on campus . . . except Mike McAllery. Elizabeth is having trouble dealing with college life -- espeically with her new roommate, Celine. Enid is now Alexandra, and no friend of Liz's. Todd is a Big Man On Campus, and wants his relationship with Liz to go further. And Winslow has been regestered as 'Winnie' and put in an all-girls dorm!
Rating: Summary: I hate this book because Todd and Liz stopped going out! Review: Liz & Todd had been going out for 6 years, and then they broke up.
That makes me mad! And sad
Rating: Summary: A great continuation of a great series!!! Review: Now they are in college but life is turned upside down for Liz, who is roommates with horrible Celine, and her boyfriend wants to take thing further with her but she's not ready. Jess abandons her for Mike McAllery the only guy who can resist her, but he's trouble. Best friend Enid turns into a sophisticated snob, "Alex" who has no time for Liz. Todd is suddenly a famous jock who dumps Liz when she says no, and relationships are breaking up and being formed everywhere. i loved this book. it's a sure sign that SVU life will be so much more exciting than high school. It makes me excited about college.
Rating: Summary: Ok, but its only the beginning Review: OK, I don't read much of the svu series, being all of 12, but I thought that this one was pretty good. If you want to read the series from beginning to end, its a good place to start, it will make you enjoy the rest of the series a lot more.
