Summary: A Great Book!
Review: Define Normal was a unique and interesting book. It's about a smart girl, Antonia, who signs up to be a peer counseler. She is assigned to Jazz, a "druggie" with purple hair. Antonia's got family problems of her own. She devotes all of her time to taking care of her brothers while her mother sits in bed all day. As Antonia and Jazz get to know each other better, they find they have more in common than they think. I read it in 2 days. It keeps you wanting to read more, but it's got a weird ending.

Summary: Define Normal's twists and turns makes it a page turner
Review: Define Normal was an excellent and eerie book. I was hooked to the main character, Antonia. She was a great character who was developed throughout the story. Twists and turns kept me intranced and wondering what was going to happen. Julie Anne Peters is a great author and I will surely read another book of hers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good ... not as much punch as Peters' others, though
Review: I enjoyed reading this book. I love the characters in Peters' books b/c they are so dimensional. These characters were interesting to read about, but not as realized as the characters in "Luna" and "Keeping You a Secret."

This was a story that is somewhat predictable and sometimes trite, but the quality of writing is still there.

If you're a fan of Peters, read it for the quality of writing that makes Peters so great, but don't expect it to possess the punch of "Luna" and "Keeping You a Secret."

Summary: An Alright book...
Review: I have to say, I was a little dissaponited when I finished reading this...Jazz had so much potential to be a cool charector, but just turned out to be a total let-down.....as did the whole book.

Summary: Interesting, even funny at times
Review: I liked this book. It was pretty cool, and on the overall, quite well-written. I finished it in one day though. The story wasn't too long, and I felt the author could've written it even better if she'd put in more to give us more complete, 3-dimensional characters. However Julie Anne Peters has tackled the problems that teenagers nowadays do face, so we can relate. The plot was o.k, really, at first it started off a little not-so-good, but then the story started to thicken and you got more involved with Jazz and Antonia. That was when it started to get interesting and made you want to read on. I liked the part about the girls' peer counseling programs, and their discussions. It seemed genuine enough, like typical conversations, not fake or contrived. Like I said though, this is a good book on the whole, even if not excellent. Those aged 11 and above will probably enjoy it. 'Define "Normal" ' makes for good, fun reading.

Summary: No ... this book was not what I had expected at ALL.
Review: I picked this book up - I wasn't expecting much with a title like "Define Normal", but I read it anyway. I found that Jazz seemed to be a pretty normal person and that Antonia was somewhat abnormal and in greater need of help;I didn't understand that girl. At any rate ... the mention of some of the slang did not make any sense ("bode"? Who says "bode"?)and the story played out to be extremely corny. For a good High School book, read Speak by Laura Halse Anderson.

Summary: Making You Define "Normal"
Review: I read it about 5 years ago and I still can't forget how wonderful I felt about reading this book. The end reminded me of the sixth sense, and the twist it had, the way it made me think one thing but was really another, the way I judged a character from the outside because the author wanted you to do just that, it was awesome. READ THIS BOOK!!!

Summary: Define Normal is a Must Read!
Review: I read the book Define Normal and I think that it's a funny book that captures you're attention and helps you learn from it. It's about 2 girls, Antonia and Jazz, who have to learn to get along in peer counseling. Antonia learns some valuable lessons from Jazz. Jazz learns from Antonia. Antonia's mom is sick and some people find out about it. They take her to the hospital. Antonia and her two brothers live with Jazz's family for a few days then go to a foster home. She learns that Jazz really does care for her. This book teaches the lesson you cant judge a book by its cover. I really enjoyed the book because it kept my attention all the way through and it really reminded me of my life. It did this by pointing out how I always look at differences as being bad. I don't hang with people who wear all black or just do totally different stuff that I didn't think of being normal people. Some people can be wearing all black and not be bad and still seem "normal". This book also kept my attention by putting humor in places that weren't so interesting. I think my favorite part is when Jazz teaches Antonia to swim. I would recommend this book to everyone it could help everyone in some area's of their life.
