Summary: Funny & Helpful
Review: There's one thing that separates this book from all the other SAT books -- it's written BY students FOR students. That, and you actually WANT to keep reading it. There's nothing dry and boring about this book. It's funny, it's helpful, and I give it more credit for helping me raise my Verbal & Math scores than any of the other books that I bought. I believe that the only books you really need to prepare for the SAT I are "Up Your Score" for insight on the test, tips on how to master the different types of problems, and a no-fail vocabulary builder, and "10 Real SAT's" for the practice tests. I've recommended "Up Your Score" to all my friends-- it's the only SAT book I've read that was fun to read & helpful at the same time.

Summary: Extremely helpful
Review: This book covers basic and slightly-more-advanced math, plus 600 SAT words (something the other reviews here didn't say). It also goes over the SATII Writing test with examples and methods on excelling. It has built-in study breaks and is genuinely *funny*. I loved reading it and wholly recommend it.

Summary: Excellent Review Book
Review: This book is a great review for high school students. It captured my attention AND taught me things along the way. The writing inspires the reader to read carefully to catch the comments in the text. It made me laugh out loud and learn valuable information at the same time. I recommend that students use this book as their study guide.

Summary: Best written, funniest test prep book available
Review: This book is LOL funny. Not only will you be thoroughly entertained, but the tips you learn will guarantee you a higher score. So much better (and cheaper) than the majority of the test prep guides, and this book is one students will actually use. A combination of Saturday Night Live (the old one) and Monty Python humor

Summary: Joe Jewell = DA MAN
Review: This book is sooooo awesome! I have seen copys of it before it was edited with Joe "Got Powerz" Jewell. He's definitely the freshest mind on the block. My SAT scores jumped from 980 to 1060 after following his comments to the T. BAMM!! Joe took me from below averege to slightly above averege, although if you take into considerationt the standard deveation from taking these exams that also could have done it. Anyway, thanks Joe! You DA MAN.

Summary: A GREAT and the most HELPFUL Prep Book
Review: This book is the best SAT Prep book I have read. Through the humor, the authors gave great strategies to ace the test. It not only prepares you for the test, more importantly, it makes you more confident and prepare you mentally for the test. Read this book, it is worth every penny!

Summary: Humorous and smart
Review: This book is written by 4 former students who achieved the unheard of apex of 1600 on the SAT (which stands for nothing btw).

I think this book is very good because it is funny. For example, they say that in order for you to learn a vocabulary word you should "staple it onto your goldfish". They even say that repeating a word during, ahem, sexual activity makes it easier to remember. I tried this and it works.

On a more serious tone I think that it is based on solid information. For example, in order to remember the word crass (meaning stupid), it says: "it is crass to scratch your ...".

Tell me, in which other book does it say something like this. Certainly not Barons, or Princetons Review, or any others. Furthermore, all of the examples from the SAT in this book are bona fide. The problem with other books is that they make up their own problems. The College Board has very expensive facilities and faculties and any examples an author would make is nothing like one made by a myriad of researchers and consultants.

In conclusion, this book is great. Why spend hundreds on Princeton courses when a couple of dollars will get you mentally ready. It taught me to hate the test, and to use this hate to foil the tricks on the test, which "up"ed my score.

Summary: A great book
Review: This book presents techniques you need to know to improve your score on the SAT. After reading it, my score jumped up 190 points. A must for any High Schooler looking to bump up a score.

Summary: This book is a miracle!
Review: This book really does work. I was able to raise my SAT score from a 1140 to a 1300. There are plenty of tips to help you get those "free" points that can raise your score. It's also a enjoyable book to read, so you won't get bored. "Up Your Score" is worth every penny.

Summary: Beautifully written for the minds of lazy teenagers
Review: This book really touches and meets the needs of the procrastinating and lazy teenagers of today's age. We don't want to study something boring, and the jokes, strategies, and helpful tips on remembering the words helps a lot. I strongly disagree with the comment that it sucked.
