Rating: Summary: Why are your tape editions not sequential? Review: I am a great fan of this series. I bought each book as it was published. When I saw that there was a cassette version of Crown of Thorns, for a dear friend of mine who prefers this format, I was greatly puzzled that there was no cassette version of Eye of the World. How is it that you propose for your cassette customers to begin in the middle of an ongoing story?A puzzled customer.
Rating: Summary: A wonder in words Review: First of all, I'm no big fan of reading in the first place, but a friend suggested this series to me. After picking up The Eye of The World, I struggled with myself and got mad......because I was staying up too late reading it!!! Read and enjoy!!!
Rating: Summary: it was undoubtedly the best book of the best series Review: I started reading the Wheel of Time series three weeks ago, and i am now on the eighth book. The Eye of the World is possibly the best book i have ever read. It is intricately plotted, and gets better every page. The characters are amazingly well formed, personality and character perfectly described and I could not put the book down. The rest of the series is amazing too, but none can match up to the standard of Jordan's writing in The Eye of the World.
Rating: Summary: THEIS BOOK IS AMAZING Review: Once I started reading this book I coud never put it down. I'm no fan of fantasy, I don't always find it even partly enjoyable. However, this book and the subsequent follow-ups are absolutely astonishing. If you start this series you HAVE to read it and buy every book. I loved this book and the Wheel of Time Series.
Rating: Summary: As I read this book, I LIVED it! Review: I really loved this book. The details of this story make it live in brilliant colors in a way few other books do.
Rating: Summary: A Masterpiece. Review: This is the best book I have ever read. The scene is set right at the start, and the characters are so realistic, you won't want to put this book down. I suggest reading the whole series, but you can survive on just this one. Some people think this is a poor book, but they are intitled to their own opinion but this is the greatest book in my eyes I have ever read. A must for the fantasy fans out there. Give Robert Jordan some thanks for this great series of books.
Rating: Summary: Review Review: Robert Jordan is descriptive and creative in this epic about the heroic ascent of a Messiah-like character. I have to admit that this is a lot like the Tolkien books as far as the "feel" of it is concerned, but it is in no way any kind of clone. I have to admit that I read the first seven books two years ago, and by the time I finally found the eighth book (I had by that time given up searching and found it by accident) I had already forgotten what happened in which book and now I am re-reading the series. I have just finished the first book (I didn't even remember Loial being in it!) again, and it is even better the second time. The balance of the common and the fantastic, good and evil, mythical and original, is the best that I have ever seen. The series is addictive - I find myself saying "Must read second book again, and third, and fourth, and fifth..." The only bad thing I can say is that I got lost during one point in the book spanning multiple pages. "What's this about killing someone? Why are there Whitecloaks?" Fortunately, I was able to get back into the storyline.
Rating: Summary: Wow!! Review: I loved the Tolkien books and friend recommended that I read Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I'm glad he did. The plot is spectacular and the characters are very real. A must read for anyone who enjoyed The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings.
Rating: Summary: Finally Tolkien II is crowned Review: Yes, Jordan has been crowned the next king. Tolkien's death left the fantasy world struggling in the brutal fight to claim his throne. And Jordan has returned from the battlefield victorious. The first book in this gigantic series is undoubtedly the best. First of all, it introduces new ideas and break some old stereotypes. Second, it is a good chunk of literature. Sometimes you read a good book through in 1-2 hours. Not this one. Third, Jordan is not as repetitive as in the other books. Which brings me to the conclusion. The Wheel of Time series is naturally one of the best in the world, but I have to agree with some disappointed critics, that he is getting tired and Book 7 is already soap-opera stuff. You have to force yourself to read it and this did not happen in the first 3-5 books. Anyway, hopefully he doesn't fulfill his plan to write 13 books, cuz the last 5 will probably suck.
Rating: Summary: A good start, but the series never develops Review: A good book - very reminiscient of Tolkien. Be warned, there's 8+ more books to follow with no end in sight. In each book less happens. Don't start until all the books are out.
